Discuss wrestlers who had great gimmicks that were either cut too early or that were petered out because they remained stagnant.

I think the obvious one is Muhammad Hassan who was one of those heels that were actually making sense. I remember he drew great heat from the crowd, and it's a damn shame that his time was cut short due to unfortunate timing of the airing of Smackdown and the bombing incident in London.

My own personal pick though is Matt Hardy's 'I Will Not Die' character. Sure he kept the catchphrase throughout the rest of his WWE run, but the fire that made him so compelling against Edge went out after that.

Paul Burchill's pirate gimmick and Mohammad Hassan.

The Boogeyman didn't seem that short lived. Maybe cause he'd return every few years for a short while.

His runs were so short though cause he was always injured lol

I couldn't see him getting past a gimmick character, however I did enjoy seeing him attack everyone with worms. Also Undertaker's story in SVR 09 had an awesome ending cause of him.
