WWE legend Mick Foley wrote the following on his Facebook page about how Batista was treated upon his return to WWE:

BATISTA DESERVED BETTER

“He was simply the wrong guy in the wrong place at the wrong time. Unfortunately for Dave Bautista (Batista) his return happened to be part of the perfect storm – the night WWE fans wanted Daniel Bryan- WWE Universe to walk out as the winner of the 2014 #RoyalRumble …and would settle for nothing less. The initial reaction – the pop – was there when Dave made his Rumble entrance; the WWE Universe was excited to see him. They just didn’t want anyone but Daniel Bryan to walk out of that match as the winner. Unfortunately, the fans directed their anger at Batista personally. And that’s wrong.”

“Shouldn’t we be happy for Batista? He left his bread and butter – the WWE – to pursue the bold new dream of acting. Now he’s landed a dream role, in a major motion picture – Marvel’s #GuardiansoftheGalaxies and, yet. no one seems very happy for him.”

“Hey, I laughed too at #Bootista and #Bluetista. But Dave’s a good guy, who worked hard to carve out a legacy inside WWE – and he deserved better than what he got.”

Batista is set to return to the WWE after his movie release, “Guardians of the Galaxies.” The movie will be released nationwide on August 1st, 2014.

There has not been an official return date for Dave, who signed a two year deal with WWE this past winter. The last time we saw Batista on TV was on Raw where he quit after their Evolution took a loss at the hands of The Shield at WWE Payback.

Batista demanded a championship match, but he ended up getting into arguments with both Triple H and Randy Orton, which forced him to quit and Seth Rollins to turn heel on his teammates.

Batista blows. And the whole bitching thing he does is clesrly blurred between keyfabe and reality.

Anyone in Dave's spot was going to get that treatment. No matter who, the people wanted Daniel Bryan. People shouldn't have or still give Dave Shit, hell it was him who has done the job more times then he should have imo. But continue to whinny about it won't help his cause or anyone else continuing to bring up his mistreatment by the fans isn't going to help. That's the world of wrestling, people either love you or hate you...so don't bitch about it.

I think if it was someone like Ziggler, or Punk...the backlash wouldnt of been that severe. They were already on the roster and if they were getting that megapush it was because they deserved it, not because it was handed to them. People were pissed because Batista was just handed a main event title push after being gone for 4 years. Didnt deserve it, didnt earn it, it was given to him.

Well that's kinda hypocritical really. back in 2012 when Jericho came back, he was rushed right into the WWE title picture. I mean people got mad when he didn't win the Royal Rumble. WM of that year he was in the WWE title match. Jericho He wasn't as long gone as Batista was, but he still was gone for a good while.

So it's okay for Jericho to be come back and get a title shot at WM but it's not okay for Batista?

Jericho wasnt going to win the WWE title back then either, that's the thing. Everyone and their mother knew Batista was going to win at Wrestlemania regardless of who was champion. There was even that rumor that DB was going into the main event as champion but Batista was going to pin Orton for the belt.

True, Vince was full of shit thinking Dave was going to be his white knight. But still at the end of the day Dave did the job...not only that he tapped out.

Batista was just not over. The crowd reaction wasn't ever on his side. They wants something different. Compare that to Jericho. Fans want him to have everything, all the time.

People got hyped for Batista's return. He got a huge pop when he came back. It's only when they realized that "Hey He is back...and He is entering the rumble...OH SHIT HE IS GOING TO WIN NOT DANIEL BRYAN!"

Saying Batista isn't over is silly. Anyone other than Daniel Bryan or CM Punk winning the Rumble was unacceptable.
