Channing Tatum is reportedly being lined up to star in Joel and Ethan Coen's new film Hail Caesar!.

According to Variety, the 34-year-old actor is in talks to join the cast, which already comprises George Clooney and Josh Brolin.

The Academy Award-winning filmmaker brothers are writing and directing the upcoming comedy under Universal Pictures.

Hail Caesar! follows a Hollywood fixer named Eddie Mannix who protected the stars of the era.

Tatum is currently on screens in 22 Jump Street and will appear in Jupiter Ascending in February 2015. The actor will also play the role of Gambit in May 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse.
