Tony Hawk's latest venture in gaming has been unveiled, and it's a little different to the big console release some of us may have been hoping for. The long-running series has now gone free-to-play with the mobile-exclusive Tony Hawk's Shred Session, which soft-launches within the next few weeks.
As revealed by TouchArcade, Shred Session is a 3D endless runner - think Temple Run-style gameplay, with the player swiping to perform tricks. Two gameplay modes are included: Survival has you stringing together tricks to keep going, and Shred Sessions puts the focus on completing familar Tony Hawk-style objectives.
Five locations and six playable skaters will be included at launch. As with most free-to-play games, there are two currencies. Coins are earned in-game and can be spent on cosmetic upgrades, while bills are used to accelerate progress through the experience system.
