As the Vendetta theme song slowly fades, the audience are packed to capacity as the main event had finally arrived… and Jennifer Light was in the ring, microphone in hand, just as easy on the eyes as well… you know.

Jennifer Light
"Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest… is your MAIN EVENT 0f the evening!"

The camera pans back from the beaming smile of Jennifer Light at Hitman Alex’s theme begins to play, introducing the former World Heavyweight Champion.  Marching to the beat of an almost immediately negative reception, ‘The Center Of Attention’ steps out onto the stage, one long black boot after the other, carrying himself with a cautious pace, lifting his head and flash a very serious glare, making sure Dwight could feel it across the vast distance just as intensely as he would right in front of him.  Latching onto the glare for some moments, before the legs of Hitman begin to swing into motion, prompted an elaborate shower of black and purple pyrotechnics, the tiny sparks bouncing from Hitman’s flesh as he steps through the elaborate curtain with a face of stone, a regular nights work turned personal.

Adam Dennis
Such a grand entrance… you know… for the former world champion.  Even our current champion doesn’t have cool shit like that!

Ted Cedar
There’s a much bigger story at work here than fancy fireworks, Adam…

Jennifer Light
"From the Bronx, New York… weighing 230 pounds, he is The Center Of Attention… Hitman Alex!!!  And his opponent… Dwight Lights!"

Dwight Lights less than extravagant introduction is heard and we have a two second flash of the Australian already in the ring.  Meanwhile, back at the ramp Hitman Alex presses on, his fists clench tighter with every step he takes down what is left of the ramp, the pyrotechnics beginning to fizzle out in the foreground as the camera swings around him, capturing his climb up the steel steps, continuing to wipe his boots on the mat, Hitman cannot help himself but complete his typical routine, takes his eyes from his opponent to glare down on the fans to his left side.

Adam Dennis
Why would he do that, why would he take his eyes off Dwight Lights? Surely he’d be more careff—IN CASE THAT HAPPENS!

Perfection becomes vulnerability as Dwight Lights lays the first blow, sprinting at referee Ryu Sanu and bulldozing him directly into Alex and the ref dies.  The crowd gasp in surprise, not expecting the jumpstart as Dwight Lights wrangles hold of the teetering Alex and negotiates him from the apron back into the ring across the second rope, smiling sadistically and the crowd brace themselves for the Welcome To Electricity DDT.  Hitman Alex pulls free however, tugging Dwight into an Angle Slam, not to be as Dwight escapes in motion to land back on his feet behind Alex, gaining just enough distance between himself and his opponent for his recently-adopted Watt Kick, only the debut of the move in its completion will have to wait, as Alex is only barely able to duck and save around the boot as it whizzes off his shoulder, counter-offering with a quick kick to the gut, looking for catch Dwight with a Dynasty, Dwight thrusts upright however… throwing Hitman over the top rope and onto the outer edge of the ring, Dwight wasting no time with a rope-assisted shoulder block, vaulting Alex dramatically through the air and into a landing almost chin-first on the crowd barricade,  had it not been for muscle memory with a forearm to wear the brunt of the impact.

Ted Cedar
And here we go!!

Adam Dennis
I’ve seen rap battles but that was a signature battle, yo!  They used everything!

Ted Cedar
Well you better get out there and tell Dwight that!

Hitman Alex checks his face, cupping his mouth protectively as he struggles to find his bearings and Dwight Lights maneuvers through the ropes and onto the floor perfectly, helping himself to kick the breath out of Alex, crumbling him down upon one knee, throwing unnecessary timekeeper staff aside and grasping hold of a steel chair, closing it tight, measuring Alex and bringing the steel down across Alex’s back!  The sound of steel meeting flesh matched only by Alex’s scream of anguish, Hitman freezing stiff on both knees, arms hovering in the air as if he were a scarecrow and the steel chair strikes a second time, Hitman Alex crawling on his hands and knees, making a desperate attempt to gain some space, Dwight Lights casually swaggering behind him, preparing the steel chair for more however Alex plays the game right back, lunging forward to club Lights with a lowblow!  Dwight groans deeply in a state of obvious distress, letting the chair slip from his fingers as Alex finds his fingers on the chair, using it as a crutch to find his feet, sadistically grinning before belting Dwight Lights over the back with it, exacting his revenge!

Ted Cedar
Now Alex has the chair, this is out of control!

Adam Dennis
It’s almost like a no disqualification match, and we haven’t even officially started!

Dwight Lights crumbles backward, yet still stands, his fist shaking intensely  as the pain coarses through his back, Alex raises the chair again and slamming Light’s with it, and this time Dwight falls upon both knees against the announce table.  Hitman Alex takes the seating aid turned torture device and raises it high above his head, picking up a pace to dash at Dwight Lights for the killshot yet Dwight tears on his feet to face his oncoming foe head-on, spraying Hitman in the face with a mini-fire extinguisher, dropping it to the mat with a shallow thunk, backing up a few paces to compose himself, heaving Alex into a dramatic powerbomb over the announce table!

Ted Cedar
A fire extinguisher?!

Adam Dennis
Make that a glove compartment issue fire extinguisher, Ted!  You know what, I was against this all happening, but damn it let’s just sit back and watch this play ou—

Adam is cut off with an audible knock as Dwight Lights jumps on the table like a maniac, forcing a length of electrical cable down on Hitman’s throat, hissing and grunting like a Wildman but Alex is able to fend Dwight off, not for long as Dwight comes straight back with a forearm, laying Alex flat across the top of the table, Dwight lights cracks his neck from left to right with both hands, stepping around the table and on top of the chairs, using them as a platform to step upon the top of the table, reach down and pull Alex up from the head and neck, planting his head between his legs and reaching down for a fistful of his tights, the fans on their feet thinking PiledriverBack Body Drop counter and Dwight Lights is thrown over the barricade and into the crowd, tumbling across a conveniently cleared section of the front row, Dwight rises from the wreckage of steel and confetti, crawling onto the barricade yet Hitman dramatically dives down on top of him, very much like a Lou Thesz Press, hammering away and while the crowd have no real love for either of the two men, they cheer for the escalating drama!

Ted Cedar
This is really getting out of hand now…

Adam Dennis
Oh, don’t be such a fuddy duddy Ted!  This is great!

Dwight Lights is left on the concrete arms flailing as Hitman Alex retires his outburst of punches and pulls Dwight onto his feet.  Taking him through the crowd now, Hitman Alex shoves fans away from him as security officers quickly form a hole in the fans, who take a front row seat to the wild action as both men pummel one another furiously.  Taking the fight towards the back of the pack, Dwight manage to gain the upper hand and sling Alex against a trolly container full of audio equipment, stepping toward Alex only Hitman grasps hold of a microphone and clocks Dwight right on top of the head with it!  Dwight staggers backwards and Alex takes hold of the trolley and begins pushing it, growling with effort, until it veers into motion and Alex slams the trolley right into Dwight’s gut, collecting him in the process, Alex at full pace, running the trolley which busts through a doorway and right into a wall backstage… causing the trolley, and by extension Dwight, to tip across the concrete in a dramatic crash!

Ted Cedar
OHHH!!! Dwight Lights is taken for a ride!

Adam Dennis
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

Dwight Lights climbs to his feet in a daze, seeing double, trying to focus on Hitman Alex, the former world champion shows him no mercy, tackling him into a reintroduction with the wall again, backing up with him in his grasp for tackle number two… right into a pot plant!  Dwight Lights comes around enough to begin clobbering down on Alex’s back with punches, grasping hold of the pot plant behind him and tipping it upside down, dumping dirt over Alex’s head before beating him across the temple with the pot, splitting the ceramic in two pieces, searching his surrounding for more resources yet Alex stumbles backwards with runaway feet, barging open a door behind him!  Dwight Lights lowers the small amplifier in confusion, discarding it, and walking into the door to find a small office space.  Dwight Lights is on fire, fists clenched, scanning the room from right to left, only to grin to himself as he steps toward a noticeable varnished desk, running his finger along the desktop as he swaggers around it, only the door creaks open in the foreground and Hitman Alex surprises Dwight, ramming him from behind right into the edge of the desktop, Dwight feeling the impact gut-first, stumbling backwards right into an Angle Slam set-up… Dwight is able to escape however, slipping out of the grip and landing on the floor with a ginger hop, Hitman Alex spinning around in surprise, Dwight snatches a snow-dome and smashes Alex in the face with it!

Ted Cedar
And Christmas comes early for Alex!

Adam Dennis
A snow-dome used in a wrestling match, even if it technically isn’t one… only in the XWA.

Hitman flops across the desk, Dwight Lights shaking up the snowdome before striking Alex in the head with a second blow, and Alex takes a drunken walk, shaking off the daze whilst trying to concentrate on Dwight Lights, who comes in strong with a growl and scoops Alex up in an office chair, shoving him out the doorway and back into the corridor whilst spinning him around!  Both the chair and Alex come to an abrupt halt upon contact with the wall, Dwight in hot pursuit however Alex uses his legs to kick Dwight backwards, and wheel down the corridor as an added bonus, the camera fixing on Dwight Lights chasing him down the corridor, turning an abrupt left…

Dwight Lights
GET BACK HEEEeeerrre!!

Nothing.  Both Dwight and Alex had been lost by the limitations of the cameraman, all we are left to work with is the commentary of Ted Cedar and Adam Dennis.

Ted Cedar
Well err… ladies and gentlemen this match… this brawl… seems to have come to an end, we have no ides where Dwight Lights or Hitman Alex are… I can’t even begin to describe what we just witnessed!

Adam Dennis
Shortest… main event… ever!

The action abruptly ends for several minutes and wonder becomes frustration as the arena is left in silence.  The camera set upon an empty stage and tensions are running high as the Sacramento fans grow increasingly restless.  The camera cuts to Ryu Sanu, who glances back to ringside staff, who shrug back at him with gestures to stall things and finally Razor Xtreme himself steps out from the back to no theme music, an unimpressed look across his face.  Razor takes a breath, switching the microphone on until a roar in the back seats breaks out, cutting Razor off and the General Manager peers over the crowd to investigate, the cameras frantically snapping across the fans to pinpoint the disturbance, and a live feed of Dwight Lights and Hitman Alex clobbering away brings a smile back across Razor’s face as he leaves his show in the capable hands of the brawling foes.   As the fists fly, Dwight Lights backpedals up an aisle of steps, which Hitman Alex follows and the realisation that they’d reached the top of the steps only dawns upon them when a simple kick to the head from Hitman causes Dwight to roll a few times, Hitman charges and Dwight steals in a powerslam, causing both men to dramatically tumble down the stairs and come to a crash against the protective rails at the steps end! Dwight Lights presses upon his hands and knees, shaking his head in a daze as his eyes rolls back to Hitman Alex, and the Center Of Attention reaches a full stance and wastes no time, dashing toward Dwight and smashing him in the temple with the toe of his boot in a vicious PUNT!

Ted Cedar
Oh god…

Dwight Lights head flaps back at the neck and he is laid out, starfished, as Hitman Alex slowly backs away from the damage and backs away into the crowd, a flash of uncertainty in his eyes, Alex dropping down to the concrete below and simply watching on as Dwight Lights is knocked out cold, the Vendetta closing graphic popping up in the corner of the screen as the images feed on the titantron and the show closes.

Ted Cedar
Bittersweet, but Hitman Alex may have pushed things too far… what’s going to happen at XtremeMana 5!!!
