DING! DING! DING!

JHalc stands with his back to his opponent despite the fact that the opening bell has already chimed throughout the entire arena. His pre-match ritual is more important than some kind posturing. He removes his hat, and the official actually moves to his aid, stepping into the center of the ring and cutting the Jack of Hearts off from Whisper. Jay reaches up to his hat and removes it from his head before reaching it forward and placing it on the ring post. He turns from the turnbuckle, and the referee steps out of the way as the two come together. JHalc puts his hands up half-heartedly, not looking enthused. Whisper steps up, noticing the ambivalence of his opponent. He raises his hands and sizes the former world champion up. With a closed fist, he swings his right arm forward, but JHalc snaps to life, ducking the arm and going to behind the bigger superstar. Whisper turns around to find Jay with his arms up, issuing an open left-handed slap across his face. The larger man doesn't take that lightly though, he surges forward, swinging wildly only to have JHalc again duck his right arm.

Dennis:
We have seen this time and time again. JHalc always aims to piss off his opponent in the early going.

Cedar:
Whisper is not a man he should try to play that game with.

Whisper wheels around as Jay ducks his arm, and lets himself fall backwards against the ropes, using them to propel himself forward. JHalc is there waiting for him when he rebounds though, The smaller man spins on his and drives his elbow into the bigger man's head with a 360 elbow smash. Whisper falls back against the ropes for a second time and is helpless to stop himself from springing back forwards. Jay hooks him up in a front face lock as his opponent comes within arm's reach and hooks his right leg, crossing it over his left before powering him up into the air. The Jack of Hearts turns so that his adversary will land away from the ropes and drives him to the mat with The Killing Joke!

Dennis:
THE KILLING JOKE OUT OF NOWHERE!

Cedar:
The Jack of Hearts is clearly not playing around tonight.

The official slides into position, and JHalc manages to keep the big man's leg hooked through the impact on the mat.

1!

2!

3!

DING! DING! DING!

Whisper kicks out powerfully following the third slap of the mat, not realizing that he is a moment too late. JHalc pushes himself away, rolling backwards towards his own corner and standing up in the corner. Whisper is already on his feet and is arguing with the referee about the count. JHalc reaches over the ropes and grabs his hat off the ring post before stepping through the ropes to the apron. An enraged Whisper charges forward towards him from the center of the ring, but narrowly misses the smaller man as he leaps from the apron to the floor.

Dennis:
Whisper can't seem to connect with the Jack of Hearts at all.

Cedar:
He can't be happy about the #1 Contender to the IC title making short work of him tonight.

JHalc backpedals up the ramp, placing his hat on top of his head as the camera cuts to commercial following a flash of his signature smirk.
