TNA Rumor Mill Empty

-While cutting back to four major PPVs was a creative one, the word is that it was a financial one as well. Dixie Carter has stated numerous times that the PPVs were profitable for the company. The reason for this is that most of the PPVs were filmed in Orlando in the IMPACT Zone. TNA was paying a monthly lease for the IMPACT Zone.

At the time that TNA announced their new PPV strategy, they were already finalizing their decision to take the show on the road full-time. Because TNA would be leaving the IMPACT Zone, they wouldn't have been able to film the PPVs there. If TNA was to keep their PPVs, it would mean they would have had to rent buildings (rumored at around 500,000 dollars on average) for the extra shows. If each of the three hour PPVs was taped separately, TNA would be looking at an additional 3-5 million dollars. PPVs that originated as moneymakers for the company would be big money losers. When looking at all of the recent budget cuts, many in TNA are happy that they didn't have the extra burden of these PPVs.

With that said, its important to stress how much more money TNA is paying out for the road shows. As mentioned before, they were paying a monthly lease for the IMPACT Zone. The monthly lease was rumored to be less than one road show. TNA could film as many shows they wanted in the IMPACT Zone because they leased it for a month. With 30 tapings on the road (26 IMPACT Tapings and 4 PPVs), TNA will be spending (if using the 500,000 dollar number) about 15 million for their road shows.

-Dixie Carter has taken many of the recent budget/roster cuts to heart. If she got what she wanted, many of the names that were cut would have still had a job. It has been a hard few months for her due to all the recent cuts.

-Speaking of roster cuts, it is believed that more are on their way. The talent cut so far weren't instrumental parts of the current TNA product. Most of the names weren't being used and were being paid. Only DOC and Matt Morgan were names that TNA didn't plan to cut. As you can see, Matt Morgan requested his release. DOC and TNA couldn't come on a new agreement. It is believed that the money TNA was offering was below what DOC needed.

-Gunner and James Storm are being held off of TV until TNA can find a proper tag team for them to feud with. James Storm also sustained an injury over the weekend's house shows and management are worried about his health.

-Most of the recent X Division guys appearing in the company are under PPA (Pay-Per-Appearance) deals. They don't have a contract. Sonjay Dutt, Petey Williams and others are believed to fall under this category.

-There are a number of changes in the way the show is actually run. Because TNA has taken the show on the road, they can't get away with some of the stuff they did in Orlando. I will hopefully detail some of these changes in the near future.

-Talks between Homicide and TNA are continuing as they hope to re-sign him shortly. Eric Bischoff was the one that made the decision for him to hit his move on Petey Williams in the match to help please Homicide. Petey Williams was notably hurt after the match but has been steadily recovering since then and there is likely no major injury to have been sustained.

-This is not the last we've seen of Greg Marasciulo and Rubix. Management were very happy and thought their performances were impressive. They will currently be brought in on a pay-per-appearance basis but are looking to get signed in the future. Other future stars management are scouting are Shane Hollister, Lince Dorado, Willie Mack, and Rashad Cameron. They would like to use the tag team of Anthony Nese and Rashad Cameron however Nese's contract is preventing that from occuring.

-SpikeTV and TNA officials were very happy with the ratings for Destination X. There's a feeling within the company that a resurgence of the X-Division is needed. Management is very happy with TJ Perkins and feel they've made a good investment in him. They were pleased with the reaction he received after winning the X-Division Championship.

While there are those in management who are fans are the Suicide/Manik character, they weren't fans of the Suicide name. TNA has been looking for a masked superstar for awhile and decided to go with Suicide as it was a character they already invested time into. Dropping the Suicide name was strictly a PR move for the company. TNA is trying to give Manik a "superhero" appeal.

-There aren't any plans on changing the name of the company from TNA. With that said, TNA doesn't reference themselves as TNA during their Thursday Night show. The show is referenced as IMPACT Wrestling as the branding is much clearer. The IMPACT Wrestling name change was influenced in fact by Spike TV, who have been trying to appeal to a wider demographic. For the record, the name of the company is TNA and the name of the TV show/brand is IMPACT Wrestling.

-With the recent departure of Bruce Prichard, it is unknown what the status of talks are with MVP. There is talk of not bringing him in due to the recent budget cuts and want to build stars that don't have a WWE-influence. However, he is still seen as a valuable commodity and we will most likely see him after Bound For Glory.

-The reason for Taz's absence on the recent IMPACTs is due to a stipulation in his contract. Taz usually takes one show off a year (as was the case with Destination X last year) and he did it this year as well. It is expected that Taz will be back next week.

-TNA and AAA's partnership is going well and Jeff Jarrett is keeping both sides happy. AAA owes TNA a lot of talent, at this time the main problem is work visa issues. Once those and scheduling issues are sorted out, we will most likely see Jennifer Blake have some matches with the Knockouts for a short period of time.

-Look for Brooke Tessmacher to make her return at the Wichita Falls live tapings. Her live tweeting last night was a way to reintroduce her to the TNA audience. TNA will be contacting several knockouts talents shortly.

-The future of Gutcheck remains uncertain, it is being said that Bad Bones match may be the next and final Gutcheck Segment.

-Shanna and Nikki Storm are rumored to be the the two women they will use in British Bootcamp 2 which is set to begin taping at the start of October. Rumored names for the male participants are Lionheart and Noam Dar.

... Wait.
Shanna?
Isn't she that Portuguese Wrestler?
That would be neat. Watching her for years on a national basis, then suddendly knowing she "may" have a chance at showing up on TV. That would be so cool.
