West coast vs. East coast. Champion vs. Champion. A clash against two great men in their own rights for the first time in XWA history, but who will emerge triumphant? On one side of the ring, the newly crowned Hardcore Champion and bipolar maniac, Shade. On the other side, fresh off a loss for the XWA World Heavyweight Championship, but still the Intercontinental Champion, Drake Dysfunction. Once the bell tolls three times, the two men head towards the center of the ring. Not about to fall for any of Shade’s shenanigans, “The Natural Revolution” strikes Shade with a plain back fist to his face. The attack catches Shade off guard, permitting Drake to dash at the ropes and ricochet off of them. Whatever move he had in mind though is futile, for the New York native charges right back at his opponent, bending Drake down slightly while reaching around him and spinning him around to execute an agonizing tilt-a-whirl backbreaker against his knee! Drake falls off of Shade’s knee and to the mat as Shade towers over him, yet this doesn’t last long as Shade raises an elbow up and falls down, hitting a simple elbow drop. Now down at the mat with his foe, “The Ultimate Synner” goes for an early pin. ONE… T – KICKOUT! Predictably, Drake kicks out. After all, it’s just the beginning of the match and there’s plenty of fight left in the Intercontinental Champion.

Adam Dennis: “I wonder how long it’s going to take until this guy goes all mental on Drake.”

Ted Cedar: “It is only a matter of time until Shade starts channeling Leon or Samael to takeover, I suppose. We don’t see much of Shade doing the wrestling as of late; it’s just his body.”

Adam Dennis: “You make it seem like he’s possessed and he’s not you dipshit.”

The Hardcore Champion stands up, bringing his slightly smaller rival with him. Drake responds with an unexpected headbutt completely out of nowhere once the two are completely vertical. Shade staggers backwards, once again thrown off guard by Drake’s sudden attack. Indignation-fueled eyes and all, the California native rushes his psychotic adversary and takes him down with a ruthless spear! Seemingly annoyed that Shade tried to win so early on, Drake lets out a few punches to Shade’s face before the referee intervenes and informs Drake to stop, else he’d be disqualified. Drake reluctantly does so, just to shove Shade out of the ring with his foot. The ref doesn’t seemed too pleased at this either, but Drake merely ignores his weak protest and exits the ring, leaving the ref no choice but to begin a ten count. (ONE…) With “The Terror of Death” on all fours, Drake measures him up. (TWO…) Shade slowly rises up entirely. (THREE…) With the former 2WWF World Champion semi-dazed, “The Giver of Proper Execution” dashes at him and nails his signature “Dysfunction Kick” superkick! (FOUR…) Shade hits the floor with a thump as Drake raises his hand up arrogantly. (FIVE…) No signs of life from Shade, so Drake enters the ring, going for a cheap victory against a man who he considers an unworthy champ. (SIX…) A slight twitch of the leg from Shade. (SEVEN…) Shade grabs the ring apron and pulls himself up, sliding in before the count of eight. A smile appears across Drake’s face, indicating he gets to hurt Shade more, ultimately making Dante’s life easier.

Ted Cedar: “It appears as if Drake is not necessarily taking this match seriously. Or more precisely, he’s not taking Shade seriously.”

Adam Dennis: “He’s in the Legion and if you paid attention to the promo from earlier, you’d realize that Drake believes he’ll make short work of Shade. Quite the bad move once Shade goes all psycho-Carrie on him, minus the demonic telekinesis shit.”

Drake cracks his knuckles as he advances over to Shade. Expecting Shade to remain down though, he’s taken aback once his rival stands up hastily and cracks his neck; a look of blind fury in his eyes. The Hardcore Champion begins to stomp his way over to Drake, and once the two of them meet, Shade unpredictably performs a clothesline which knocks Drake down to the canvas again. Making sure he stays in control, Shade drops to one knee and rapidly rolls Drake over so he’s on his stomach. Shade then tucks Drake’s head under his armpit and wraps his arm around his head, applying an inverted facelock; however Shade isn’t quite done just yet. He follows up by pulling backwards and up, wrenching Drake’s neck and spine to lock in his signature “Eternal Rest V2” dragon sleeper in the middle of the ring! “The Demolitionist” begins grunting in agony as Shade relentlessly keeps the hold locked in. Unable to go anywhere, the situation seems bleak for the Intercontinental Champion. Without any warning whatsoever, “The Propagation” abandons the submission and stands up, staring down at Drake who appears to be partially lifeless. A wicked smile comes on his face as he backs up and begins yelling at Drake to get up. Slowly but surely, the California native rises tall as Shade runs at the ropes and jumps onto them, just to jump off of them. Soaring through the air, Shade manages to collide his feet against Drake with a springboard dropkick that sends Drake rolling out of the ring!

Ted Cedar: “And there’s a change right there as Leon seems to be in control now. What a well-executed maneuver.”

Adam Dennis: “Are you praising the lunatic? Huh. He’s able to fool everyone by making us think he has multiple personalities and you’re praising him. Wow.”

Ted Cedar: “Mental disorders are nothing to joke over. Also, I’m surprised you’re not cheering Shade on.”

Adam Dennis: “HOW CAN I CHEER SHADE ON WHEN HE’S PLAYING THE ROLE OF A THREESOME?!”

Regrettably for the official, he now has to initiate another ten-count. (ONE…) Drake hasn’t gotten up yet, but Shade – or rather, Leon – doesn’t want to win like this. In fact, he doesn’t want to win just yet at all. (TWO…) The maniac slides out of the squared circle, causing the referee’s count to restart. (ONE…) Shade pulls Drake up by his skull and then Irish whips him towards the security barricade. (TWO…) Drake hits the barricade harshly and starts to slump down as “The Glooming Masterpiece” charges toward him like a madman, attempting a bicycle kick of some sorts, (THREE…) but Drake reacts fast enough to roll out of the way, causing Shade to almost hit an audience member. (FOUR…) Able to avoid a lawsuit, Shade fixes his composure except he’s unable to avoid Drake’s surprise “Dysfunctional Hell” jumping cutter! (FIVE…) Both wrestlers are against the floor and neither man is showing any signs of life. (SIX…) Could this be a potential double count out which will cause a draw? (SEVEN…) Drake begins to recover, using a burst of energy to grasp the ring’s edge and pull himself in. (EIGHT…) Shade hasn’t moved a muscle though, although Drake holds onto the top rope and launches himself over it! As the referee is about to say “nine”, the Intercontinental Champion connects with a senton bomb plancha!

Ted Cedar: “What an amazing display of athleticism from both champions tonight!”

Adam Dennis: “So Drake had a change of heart and wants to win this fairly? Now if he doesn’t, Dante will chew his head off next week.”

The mediator of the match is too stunned right now to begin yet another ten-count, but he eventually musters up the ability to. (ONE…) Rolling off of his opponent, Drake manages to stand up first, grabbing Shade’s lengthy hair. (TWO…) He rolls the Hardcore Champion into the ring and follows immediately after, going for the pin. ONE… TWO… THR – ROPE BREAK! At the last second, Shade is able to miraculously place his boot on the bottom rope. Drake can be seen mouthing swear words at the official, arguing that he should have won. One-hundred percent annoyed, but not defeated obviously, Drake aggressively hauls Shade up to his feet, just to put Shade’s head in between his heads going to perform his finisher. Drake tries to lift Shade up, except Shade is too stubborn and fights it. The New York native manages to escape the hold and spins around while grabbing Drake’s left arm up over his head. “Hell’s Pyromaniac” delivers a powerful punch against the side of the Intercontinental Champion’s ribcage, carrying out his “Temporary Death” heart punch signature move! Drake collapses to the canvas and Shade pins him. ONE… TWO… THRE – KICKOUT!!! Drake raises his shoulder up, sending rage all throughout Shade’s body. He forcefully lifts “The New Evolution” up to his feet and spins him around. Shade hooks both of Drake’s arms and then places his head next to Drake’s back, just to turn 180 degrees while twisting his opponent’s arms over both of their heads. Shade drops down, driving Drake face-first onto the mat with his finishing “Nexus Corkscrew” inverted double underhook facebuster! Another pin attempt. ONE… TWO… THREE!

DING DING DING!

Laura Watts: “Your winner of this match: the Hardcore Champion… SHADE!”

Adam Dennis: “The maniac is triumphant. In before an impending shit storm from Dante Cross to Drake. This will make the Legion look bad.”

Ted Cedar: “It appears as if Shade isn’t a pushover like some people are calling him. As if his victory against E.G. Deal wasn’t enough, he now has earned a victory fair-and-square against the Intercontinental Champion.”

Shade is given his Hardcore Championship as he exits the ring, holding onto his head. He looks back at the ring as the referee tends to Drake. A smirk comes across Shade’s face. Fighting one man can be tough enough, but it seems as if Shade having help from Leon internally made him achieve victory. Shade has proven that he’s a force to be reckoned with.

MAIN EVENT.) Shade vs Drake Dysfunction - Champion vs. Champion Empty
PostSubject: Re: MAIN EVENT.) Shade vs Drake Dysfunction - Champion vs. Champion   MAIN EVENT.) Shade vs Drake Dysfunction - Champion vs. Champion EmptySat Nov 02, 2013 11:57 pm

*This post-King of Xtreme edition of Vendetta has had a fair amount of controversy that has made this one of the Vendetta's to remember for the long-run, but before we end the show, we look to end it on a high-note with the upcoming main event, featuring the XWA Intercontinental Champion, Drake Dysfunction, and the NEW XWA Hardcore Champion who simply goes by the name of "Shade". We now take you to the two Vendetta commentators, looking to input what they think about the upcoming main event.*

Ted Cedar
"Well as always, ladies and gentlemen, 'The Premiere Show of the XWA' Vendetta has been nothing short of entertaining, and we're only going to continue the entertainment with our Champion vs. Champion match forthcoming."

Adam Dennis
"The Intercontinental Champion takes on the new XWA Hardcore Champion in a match that looks to be Drake Dysfunction's redemption call from coming up short last night. I must say, I don't approve of his actions last night, seeing how it was HIS job to ensure Hitman Alex walked out as champion!"

Ted Cedar
"Dennis, that's bullshit, and you know it! In that match, it was improbable that Hitman would walk out with the gold, and you know it!"

Adam Dennis
"I know that David Michaels' win was a fucking fluke, and you know it, too. You just don't wanna admit it!"

*Whether or not Drake or Hitman Alex suffered a loss in the chamber at King of Xtreme, Drake is still recognized as a champion as he holds his Intercontinental Championship he must defend at XtremeMania V against one-half of D-Volution, JHalc, over his head. He smiles at the fans, their reaction toward him being 50/50. Shade, meanwhile, is backed up against a corner with the newly-refurbished Hardcore Title around his waste.*

Ted Cedar
"Well I must say, it's good to see the Hardcore Championship back and it's DAMN good to see a champion we can be proud of."

Adam Dennis
"He got lucky against E.G. Deal...."

*Shade removes his title from his waist, displaying it high in the air for the fans in attendance to see. He smirks at Drake Dysfunction, obviously getting a better reception than Drake Dysfunction, but "The Demolitionist" could care less as he's seen rolling his eyes. With both men set and ready in the corner, the referee rings the bell*

DING DING DING!!!

Ted Cedar
"Here we go!!!"

*Both men begin circling the ring. Now don't get it twisted, y'all. Drake has done his homework here. He knows that he is dealing with an unstable man with multiple personalities tied to himself. As he motions around the ring looking for an opening, he's also cautious on exactly WHO he's facing here. It could be Shade, it could be Leon, or it could be Samael. Shade is smiling as the Hardcore Champion gets closer and closer to Drake Dysfunction, the 235-pounder having somewhat of an advantage as he lunges in at the same time Drake does, both applying the collar-and-elbow tie-up. The weight advantage of Shade slowly works to his advantage as he begins nudging Drake closer and closer into the corner, and I -do- say nudging because Drake's trying his best to resist. The man called Shade almost gets Drake backed into the corner before Drake let's go of the tie-up on his end and maneuvers under Shade's arms and around him so that he's standing behind him. Shade bodes to turn around, but this 180° is done, Drake grasps his hands together around the front of Shade's waist from behind before lifting him off the ground and German suplexing him onto the back of his shoulder on the mat. Drake turns this into a bridging pin and the rest goes for the count.*

1...

2...

*Kickout by Shade.*

Ted Cedar
"This main event has gotten underway already with the first pin attempt following that German suplex. No avail, however."

Adam Dennis
"That's perfectly fine. There are a lot more opportunities to get a pin here. Drake's just warming up."

*The Intercontinental Champ grabs the Hardcore Champ by the the neck, wrapping his arm around it from behind. Drake pulls Shade up to a footed base, but this allows Shade to fall backwards, causing Drake to crash back-first into a corner. Shade slips out of this clutch that Drake has on him and turns around, facing Dysfunction before lifting his arms and then clapping his hands on Drake's head with the Mongolian Chop.*

Ted Cedar
"Nice Mongolian Chop from Shade there!"

Adam Dennis
"Oh sure! Talk up a big game for Shade, the new Hardcore Champion"

Ted Cedar
"Oh shut up, you! I'm an unbiased commentator!"

Adam Dennis
"As am I, Teddy!"

*Shade hits the Mongolian Chop a second time and Drake's looking dazed at this point. A third Mongolian Chop really looks like it puts him out of it and Shade throws him out of the corner, Irish whipping "The Demolitionist", but it's "The Demolitionist" who turns the tables on Shade as he stops himself from running any further, turns around and pulls Shade into what looks to be an attempt at a Northern Lights suplex. Before this move is hit however, Shade sends his knee right into the face of the doubled-over Intercontinental Champion before placing his head in-between the thighs. Sooner than later, he flips Drake Dysfunction up onto his shoulders before planting him down, back-first onto the mat with the Release Powerbomb.*

Adam Dennis
"Release Powerbomb? Awww shit, don't tell me!"

*Indeed, Dennis. The change has indeed occurred already, from Shade to Samael.*

Samael
"It's alright, Shade, I got this one in the bag!"

*With that said, he lays over Drake Dysfunction for HIS pin attempt.*

1...

2...

*Drake gets the shoulder up, much to Samael-Shade's surprise.*

Samael
"Guess I DON'T have him."

Shade
"Let me handle him, Samael. We agreed that I'D handle 'The Dysfunctional One'."

*Aaaaaand Michael Astin's back. Drake has a grimace on his face that lets us know that-that wasn't pretty. He works on getting up to his feet while Shade measures his every move, for once Drake gets up, Shade plans on unleashing something fierce. As Drake turns around, he wanders into Shade, who scoops him up onto his shoulders in a Fireman's Carry. Drake's eyes widen with fear and, following the Carry, we see Drake get tossed off the shoulders as he lands gut-first onto the knee with the Fireman's Carry Gutbuster. Rolling off the knee is Drake Dysfunction as he crumples up, holding his gut in pain. Shade turns him over for a pin, but Drake kicks out before the ref can even get his hand down on the mat for one. The multiple personality man rises to his feet with two hands on his head pulling him up to his feet, then clutching Drake in a front facelock/front chancery. Shade smirks to the fans in attendance, the cocky Hardcore Champion with multiple personalities that could kick in at any time feeling confident here....for the moment. Yes, Drake Dysfunction manages to slip out of the front facelock much to Shade's surprise. Another thing that Shade doesn't see coming is the boot directed to the gut of the Hardcore Champion. Following the boot to the gut, we see Drake Dysfunction grab hold of the head with both hands and then drive it down accordingly, face-first into the canvas below with the Sitout facebuster he calls the Dysfunction Factor.*

Adam Dennis
"This man just comes out of nowhere with the most impactful moves! THAT'S why he's the Intercontinental Champion!"

Ted Cedar
"He drove him right on his face with that one!"

*After the Dysfunction Factor is hit, rather than going for the pin, Drake keeps Shade on his belly. He picks his head up, locking him in a front chancery before driving a Muy Thai-style knee to the top of the dome. After that, he flips forwards to where he lands on his feet in a bridging position, lifting the upper body of Shade off the ground as his hands are wrapped around the bottom of the chin, subsequently choking out his competitor with the Bridging arm triangle choke, which he calls The Clincher.*

Adam Dennis
"Holy shit! He's locked in The Clincher on the Hardcore Champion! He could get the submission win here!"

Ted Cedar
"Indeed he might! They're in the center of the ring! Shade has nowhere to go!"

*Shade is clawing at that hands of "The Demolitionist", attempting to loosen the grip he has, but it's doing him no good as Drake keeps applying the pressure. Shade then attempts to reach for the ropes in desperation, but to no avail. Drake is not relenting on this hold. The referee is busy asking Shade if he wants to submit, but Shade holds onto the hope that he has still has. He continues to deny the referee every time he asks him if he wants to quit, but Drake still isn't letting go. Shade has no choice but to tap out to The Clincher.*

DING DING DING!!!

Laura Watts
"Your winner: DRAKE DYSFUNCTION!!!"

Adam Dennis
"And he looks to do that to JHalc come XtremeMania V when the title is on the line!!! JHalc's gonna tap out!"

Ted Cedar
"I wouldn't be so quick on counting out a former XWA Champion like JHalc, Dennis! They're evenly matched so far, being 1-to-1 against each other. We'll see who makes it 2-to-1 come the biggest event of the XWA. For now, that's all we have, fo--"

*But, no, that's not all we have as Drake requests a mic be given to him. A stagehand gives him a mic as well as the Intercontinental Championship. Placing the title on his shoulder, he raises the mic to his lips.*

Drake Dysfunction
"See that, Alex?
*Points to Shade who favors his throat* A win! Maybe if you'd stop taking out your frustrations on me about how you DIDN'T walk out as World Champion, you'd see a true champion in your midst! Yeah-yeah, you're hero David Michaels won the World title, but I really don't care, 'cause though I didn't walk out of the Elimination Chamber with that strap, y'all were STILL calling me the XWA Intercontinental Champion."

*A mixed reaction from the crowd here as Drake says this. One wonders if early accounts of dissension in the Legion are about to be confirmed here tonight.*

Drake Dysfunction
"And come XtremeMania? David Michaels' running-mate JHalc? Y'all will STILL be calling me the XWA Intercontinental Champion after I'm done with him!"

*Strong words from the IC champ as he raises the belt high in the air to a chorus of mostly boos, due to the fact that this is D-Volution country. No matter, Drake still stands tall with a smile on his face.*
