Waiver Wire for Week 7 fantasy tips Empty

It seems that every week, players with zero fantasy value find opportunities to make an impact on the field. Undrafted rookies and late-round picks are popping up all over the place. This season's Alfred Morris could still be discovered, and Week 7 offers some interesting candidates.
Running backs

• Joseph Randle, Dallas Cowboys (Owned in five percent of CBS leagues, nine percent of Yahoo! leagues and one percent of ESPN leagues) -- The often-injured DeMarco Murray is hurt again, this time with a sprained left MCL, and Randle, a fifth-round pick out of Oklahoma State, is expected to pick up the bulk of carries in Murray's absence. Keep an eye on Lance Dunbar, as he would also receive some carries if he's deemed healthy before Murray returns. But if Murray and Dunbar are both out, Randle will be a player to pick up and start Week 7. Jerry Jones has praised Randle since April and I'm excited to watch him play.

• Khiry Robinson, New Orleans Saints (Two percent, one percent, less than one percent) -- Somehow, former Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram has been outplayed by an undrafted rookie out of West Texas A&M (Not Johnny Football's Texas A&M). Robinson rushed seven times for 53 yards and a touchdown against the Patriots in Week 6, putting him on the fantasy radar. The Saints are on a bye in Week 7, but if you have space, stash Robinson for the remainder of the season. He had 49 carries for 229 yards in an impressive preseason.

• Michael Cox, New York Giants (One percent, zero percent, zero percent) -- We've spent a lot of time this season discussing how a running back is only as valuable as his opportunity. Well, Cox might be the only healthy running back for the Giants when they host the Vikings on Monday night. The second-to-last pick of the draft appears ready to make an impact with the ball in his hands. Unfortunately, his pass protection is very raw and he might not be able to protect Eli enough to stay in the game. But the Giants don't have anyone else, so, who knows? He's worth a flier in case he has a big week, making him next week's trendy waiver pickup.

Wide Receivers

• Aaron Dobson, New England Patriots (19 percent, 14 percent, five percent) -- The fact that Bill Belichick selected Dobson in the second round of the NFL draft this year has been overshadowed by Rob Gronkowski news, Julian Edelman's big start and the emergence of Kenbrell Thompkins. Dobson has the skill set to emerge as the No. 1 receiver in New England at some point and he appears to be gaining the trust of Tom Brady, who looked his way 10 times last week. Danny Amendola's head injury and inability to stay healthy will help keep Dobson's targets up. He has the potential to help fantasy owners going forward.

• Kris Durham, Detroit Lions (Five percent, one percent, less than one percent) -- Matthew Stafford's college buddy received a team-high 13 targets last week. Stafford said Durham was "winning his matchups," and fantasy owners should take notice. Durham might be playing over his head and has struggled with drops, but he's earned the trust of Stafford. He should be on fantasy radars until he cools off, especially if Calvin Johnson isn't at 100 percent in Week 7.

• Jarrett Boykin, Green Bay Packers (Zero percent, two percent, zero percent) -- Boykin is going to be receiving a ton of targets from Aaron Rodgers until his other weapons get healthy. James Jones and Randall Cobb went down with injuries last week and Boykin immediately became a key figure in the Packers offense. He received six targets in Week 7 after getting zero in Weeks 1-5. Boykin only managed to catch one pass, but it was a 43-yarder. He could be the main beneficiary of the depleted receiver group in Green Bay. Anyone Rodgers is throwing to is worth a flier in fantasy leagues.
Quarterbacks

• Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens (63 percent, 59 percent, 56 percent) -- Flacco turned it on in the second half of Week 6 despite losing to Green Bay. He's been disappointing on the year with eight interceptions and only seven touchdown passes but he managed 212 second-half yards last week. Flacco travels to Pittsburgh in Week 7 and a matchup against his archrivals is exactly what he needs to snap out of his funk. The Super Bowl champ is a relatively safe bye-week replacement for Drew Brees owners.
Tight ends

• Jeff Cumberland, New York Jets (21 percent, six percent, three percent) -- Need a bye-week replacement for Jimmy Graham? Take a flier on Cumberland, who is the starting tight end for Rex Ryan with Kellen Winslow suspended. Cumberland was targeted five times and finished with four receptions for 59 yards in Week 6. He scored touchdowns in Weeks 4 and 5, and will have a chance to find the end zone against the Patriots Week 7. Geno Smith will throw to his tight end very often in the coming weeks.
