Paul Heyman doesn't get what the WWE audience wants to see. And the dude did the same thing in OVW. He was able to get trash performers like The Sandman over in ECW and had a good run booking Smackdown after that. But he's never had to make money making programs. He didn't have a longevity Cornette had.

Yeah SMW lasted half as long as ECW and probably lost a fraction of what ECW did. Paul Heyman booked ECW and Smackdown good. Cornette booked in WCW, SMW, WWE, OVW, TNA and ROH. Not only did he understand what southern fans wanted to see but was able to adjust for WWE, TNA and ROH. He was able to save ROH from going under. Not going to say he never made mistakes but he has an better understanding of modern wrestling than fans give him credit for.
