Subject: Report: Superman/Batman Movie Planned Sun Jul 21, 2013 3:15 pm
Fans will be getting the Batman/Superman film they have been clamoring for, according to reports from The Hollywood Reporter. Man of Steel director Zach Snyder is reported to take the helm. While it seems that Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman in the film, no actor for Batman has yet been rumored. Man of Steel scribe David Goyer is set to pen the script.
Also rumored: a Flash film for 2016 and a JLA movie for 2017.
The Warner Bros. panel is happening at San Diego Comic-Con, and full details are expected to be released then.
UPDATE: Man of Steel director Zack Snyder took the stage at SDCC today to have his MOS actor Harry Lennix read the passage from The Dark Knight Returns as a way to formally announce that the next Superman movie will include Batman! The studio then showed the Superman logo with a new Batman logo behind it. It's really happening, people!

On the heels of the worldwide success of Man of Steel, director Zack Snyder is bringing together the two greatest Super Heroes of all time —Batman and Superman —for the first time on the big screen. The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, and Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution,Warner Bros. Pictures.
The current hit, Man of Steel, has taken in more than $630 million at the worldwide box office to date, and climbing. Along with its star, Henry Cavill, the upcoming film brings back Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane. The new Batman has yet to be cast.
Snyder is co-writing the story with David S. Goyer, who will then pen the screenplay. Production is expected to begin in 2014, with an anticipated release date in Summer 2015.
Silverman stated, “Zack Snyder is an incredibly talented filmmaker, but beyond that, he’s a fan first and he utterly gets this genre. We could not think of anyone better suited to the task of bringing these iconic Super Heroes to the screen in his own way.” Kroll added, “We are thrilled to be back in business with Zack and his team on this next movie. The success of ‘Man of Steel’ is a wonderful testament to the love and support that both fans and new audiences, worldwide, have for these characters. We are very excited to see what Zack has in store for all of us.” Diane Nelson, President, DC Entertainment, noted,“Superman and Batman together on the big screen is a dream come true for DC fans everywhere. All of us at DC Entertainment could not be more excited for Zack’s continuing vision for the DC Universe.”
Zack Snyder, who made a surprise appearance at Comic-Con today, breaking the news to audiences there, later said, “I’m so excited to begin working again with Henry Cavill in the world we created, and I can’t wait to expand the DC Universe in this next chapter. Let’s face it, it’s beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest Super Heroes in the world.”The new film brings back Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder as producers. This time, Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas are serving as executive producers, along with Benjamin Melniker and Michael E. Uslan.Thomas offered, “Whilst our Dark Knight trilogy is complete, we have every confidence that Zack’s fresh interpretation will take the character in a new and exciting direction. His vision for Superman opened the door to a whole new universe and we can’t wait to see what Zack does with these characters.” The film is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, and Batman characters created by Bob Kane, published by DC Entertainment.

I'm jizzing myself... this movie seems amazing. I can't wait for it... I'm also looking forward to The JLA Movie (I thought it'd be out in 2015, but this movie is fine as well), and The Flash movie may be interesting as well. I prefer the Justice League over the Avengers and I loved the Avengers so I know this movie's going to be great for me. I really hope they get a Batman actor that is large though. I loved TDK a lot, but that is more of a stand-alone film more than so much a "Batman" film. That Batman is a lot different than the comics/Animated/video games Batman. I'd love a large actor that can move around and a suit that resembles something Arkham/Dark Knight-ish, like maybe the Arkham Origins suit. I want a large, intimidating Batman rather than a smaller one like TDK. I just really look forward to this movie, 2015 needs to hurry up.
I just saw the logo un-veil thing, got so many goosebumps.. I'm such a nerd.

Ryan Gosling has been tipped to play Batman in the 'Man of Steel' sequel. The 32-year-old actor is reportedly a hot contender to take on the role of caped crusader Bruce Wayne in Zach Snyder's new project, 'Batman vs. Superman'. The Hollywood Reporter claims: ''Wayne/Batman will be in the late 30s or around the 40 mark. He will be established and rugged. This new movie will not seek to recount an origin story or the rise of the Dark Knight.''
Gosling is the youngest in the mix, followed by British actor Matthew Goode, 35, who made a name for himself in chilling thriller 'Stoker'. Josh Brolin, 46, is currently thought to be the ''frontrunner'' to play the role because of his history with Warner Bros. studios. The website reports: ''Two sources say Brolin is the frontrunner at this stage, but a studio source dismisses the chatter, saying that the casting process hasn't even begun.''
'True Blood' star Joe Manganiello, 36, is also said to be in the running after missing out on the role of Clark Kent in 'Man of Steel' to Henry Cavill. Meanwhile, 'The Hobbit' actor Richard Armitage and 'Pacific Rim' star Max Martini have equally been named as contenders. Frank Miller is currently advising director Snyder and others on a story, and the script has yet to be finalised. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder will serve as producers while Christopher Nolan, who directed the most recent Batman trilogy, and Emma Thomas are set to executive produce. The movie is set to begin production in 2014 with a 2015 release date.

Out of the three, I couldn't choose one specifically. One of them looks too old, one of them is blonde, and other looks too small.

Out of those guys, I'd like see Josh Brolin in the role, but personally I wouldn't mind seeing Karl Urban play the role.

They always go for the actor who is popular or the 'hottest' and he'll have his face covered most of the time anyway.. I wouldn't mind Ryan Gosling though, Joe Manganiello is alright. They should keep Cavill as Superman.

and JGL should play Nightwing. He is wayyy too small to play Batman tbh. I mean Bale was kinda small but at least he could pull it off. Batman needs to be large, buff, and should still be able to move quick. He doesn't look that intimidating when he's small.

I don't hate on Superman cuz I have no reason to. I also liked Man of Steel. The previous Superman movies were shit. Well, Superman Returns wasn't so bad either.
