David Michaels vs. Caleb Spires: Chamber Qualifier Empty
PostSubject: Re: David Michaels vs. Caleb Spires: Chamber Qualifier   David Michaels vs. Caleb Spires: Chamber Qualifier EmptySat Sep 28, 2013 2:45 pm

The crowd continues to be red hot here tonight as the sixtieth edition of XWA Vendetta returns from a short commercial break. The familiar music of "Fake It" by Seether can be heard in the background, as the legend that is Caleb Spires is finishing off his entrance raising his arms to the adoring crowd while on the second rope. His opponent is David Michaels, who has certainly turned a corner in recent times. He waits in the opposite corner to Spires, leaning on the rope as the beautiful Nova whispers something into his ear. As Caleb jumps down from the ropes, Ted Cedar and Adam Dennis welcome us back to the broadcast.

Cedar:
"...aaaaannnndddddd welcome back to Monday Night Vendetta, ladies and gentlemen, as you see the former five time XWA World Heavyweight Champion Caleb Spires finishing off his entrance to the ring, as we get set for a potential classic here tonight! How do you see this one going, Adam?"

Dennis:
"Well my personal feelings to one side, there is no denying both of these men are tremendous athletes. Both have given a whole lot to this company and both are highly decorated. They have been bitter enemies and best of friends over the past five or so years, but both find themselves perhaps a cross roads in their careers."

Cedar:
"Well I can't really decided whether these two get along or not. Even though Caleb Spires is the General Manager, there has been very little in the way of interaction since Michaels' return between the two. But Michaels words earlier on suggest he not necessarily an enemy of Caleb Spires, he just doesn't particularly care for other people's woes beyond his own."

Dennis:
"Well that is one thing they certainly have in common - bitching and complaining about management, politics, backstage stuff blah blah blah. Look, they both just need to shut up and do their job. Spires is the General Manager for God's sakes..."

Cedar:
"So what? He has the COO of this company breathing down his neck every two minutes watching his every move. In fact it wasn't that long ago Michaels was going through the same BS with Smoke Xtreme that Caleb is right now!"

Dennis:
"Well why don't they both go get a room and cry about it to one another, huh?!"

Cedar:
"...like I said, even though Michaels states he can relate, he doesn't particularly care because he has his own issues with JHalc right now...and management, according to him..."

Dennis:
"...well that makes two of us not caring then. Caleb needs to just shut up and do as HIS boss says. Michaels also needs to shut up and realise JHalc is the better man..."

As Cedar and Dennis continue to argue about the complicated situations of both men, Caleb Spire's music has since slowly died away as he takes off his latest T-Shirt, exclusively available...well...everywhere! He throws it to the crowd, which almost starts an all out brawl between several rows and both men are ordered by the ref to come to the centre of the ring. Michaels nods his head at Nova, before she walks down the ring steps leaving her man to wander into the certain of the ring, face-to-face with the fellow Hall of Famer. The ref, knowing this match is actually XtremeMania main event worthy, feels the need to gets the rules straightened out between the two especially since a spot in the Elimination Chamber for the XWA World Heavyweight Championship is on the line. The two very familiar athletes stare down one another, not remotely interested in a word the ref is saying. He then asks if they have any questions and both men just slowly shake their heads. The crowd then gets excited, as the ring calls for the bell and this match is officially underway!

DING...DING...DING!!!

Cedar:
"And here we go! There is a whole lot riding on this one, ladies and gentlemen, as both men want that World Title almost as much as life itself!"

Dennis:
"A spot in that chamber means everything to these two men. Kanimaniac and Mack, along with the current champion Hitman Alex, have already booked their spots in the match. Which one of these is willing to sacrifice it all for a shot at the gold?!"

The ref steps back from between the two men, as they both continue to stare at one another. Neither is particularly looking as jolly as they perhaps once were. Both are feeling screwed over by the powers above them, both in different ways. Both men have a hatred running through their veins, waiting for it to be released, but both men have respect for the other. Both men have a distinguished history in this company. Both men are highly familiar. And both men want this win that damn badly! The crowd immediately begin a tug of war in the form of chanting, with half yelling "LETS GO CA-LEB!" and the other half responding with "HBK!" Both men then tentatively reach out their rights hands and bump fists, showing that mutual respect. But that may go right out of the window, as both superstars start to circle the other ready for this battle to commence. Both then sense their moment and stop in their tracks, before surging forwards and coming together in a Collar and Elbow Tie Up. The Elite One and The Showstealer put all their weight behind the lock up, both moving up and down on their knees attempting to gain the best grip possible. Both men then quickly let go of the hold, with neither getting that wanted upper hand. Each adjust their tights, before shooting back in for a second lock up. Both men jockey for position once more, but it is the five time World Champion that gets ahead of the game, as he quickly switches out of the lock up and latches onto the arm. Before Michaels can consider reversing this, Spires suddenly lets go and grabs onto his head instead via a Side Headlock. Spires, completely fresh, grinds at the head in a powerful manner knowing that this won't last. He's certainly correct, as David places all his weight on the lighter Spires and forces him to the ropes, rebounding him off in the opposite direction. Spires runs back in and ducks a Back Elbow attempt from his opponent, bouncing of the ropes once more. Michaels turns around and bend over, hoping to hit a Back Body Drop, but Caleb, running back in, simply kicks him in the face with his right boot. As Michaels gets up, wondering if his nose is broken, he clambers right into another Side Headlock from Spires who then forcefully shifts his own weight and delivers a Headlock Takedown to the mat, keeping that hold locked in tightly.

Cedar:
"Spires taking it to Michaels in the early going here. Classic Headlock Takedown from the former five time XWA World Champion."

Dennis:
"Well if Michaels thinks he's going to out wrestler Caleb Spires, he's sadly mistaken..."

Michaels feels around for a few seconds, frustrated he's in this position. He then decides to raise his legs and, by using the momentum, nips out of the hold and onto his feet. Spires quickly follows him to a vertical base and attempts to catch Michaels off guard, grabbing him around the head again. This time, it doesn't pay off, as Michaels lifts his opponent up and completely flips him over. Spires, landing on his feet, quickly latches onto the waist of Michaels and sends both men against the ropes. Michaels bounces off the chest first and both men roll backwards, Caleb rolling through and pinning Michaels in a seated position.

1..
2...
Kick out!

The Heartbreak Kid pushes Spires off of him and gets to his feet, Spires doing the same. As both men rise up, Michaels is determined to get the upper hand and kicks Caleb Spires in the gut, before grabbing him around the waits, lifting him up and dropping him down across his knee via an Inverted Atomic Drop. Caleb hops up and down, as that one really stung. He hobbles backwards, leaning into the corner, with Michaels following him. As Caleb leans to rest, Michaels keeps on the gas and climbs up onto the second rope, looking down at Spires. He then hits right fist after right first, each one timed methodically and the crowd counting along. As Michaels is about to hit the tenth, he crotch chops Spires right in the face, to the delight and disgust of the split crowd, before hitting that tenth fist. David Michaels then jumps down from the ropes and immediately walks into a telling off from the ref for using the ropes. He tells him to, essentially, shove it and turns back round. However, the ref being...well, a ref...gives The Elite One just that few seconds he needed and bursts out of the corner, dropping an unaware Michaels down to the mat with a hard Clothesline. The ever resilient David Michaels quickly gets back to his feet, only to walk directly into a second Clothesline. Michaels makes it back up to his feet once again, albeit more slowly this time, as Caleb grabs his left arm and pulls back, whipping him over to the ropes. Not knowing what's hitting him, Michaels rebounds back and runs straight into a bent over Caleb Spires who grabs Michaels' leg and tosses him high into the air. The Showstealer of the XWA flips right over and slams hard into the canvas, back first, with a Back Body Drop. Caleb Spires then quickly dashes to the ropes, bounces off and runs back in towards his opponent, before leaping up and dropping a Knee Drop directly into his head. Michaels moves to his side, but Spires pulls him back into a Lateral Press.

1...
2....
Kick out!

As Michaels kicks out, he sits up and gets up to one knee, he is immediately caught inthe arms of Spires, who goes right back to that Side Headlock from earlier. Michaels can be seen trying to loosen the grip under his chin and is breathing rather heavily, perhaps forgetting just how damn good Caleb Spires is!

Cedar:
"...and Caleb once again goes back to that basic Headlock, but it takes so much out a person, especially after a chain of moves like that."

Dennis:
"What he's trying to do here is take the energy out of The Showstealer. Spires knows Michaels go can better than most, so if he wears him down early, he'll gain the upper hand here."

Michaels manages to loosen Spires' grip a tad, before getting up from that single knee to both feet. Michaels then pushes Caleb to the ropes, hoping he'll whip him off, but as he tries Caleb Spires dead-weights the whole thing and keeps the Headlock on. Michaels is kept bent over, now wondering what to do. However The Showstealer has just the move and quickly latches onto Spires' left leg, before popping his hips and lifting him up. Michaels then has the hold broken, as he slams his opponent down with a Teardrop Suplex, slamming Caleb right on his back. Michaels reaches over and hooks the far leg.

1...
2....
Kick out!

Holding his head, Michaels struggles up to his feet first before reaching down and grabbing Spires by his blonde hair. Michaels then kicks him in the gut, placing him in a Suplex position. He lifts the lighter superstar up, before twisting round and slamming him down to the mat, between his legs, in the form a Falcon Arrow. Caleb bridges upwards, with his back taking two heavy bumps in the space of a few seconds. The crowd give off their mixed reaction to Michaels due to both loving both men, as heads over to the apron in front of the entrance ramp and climbs through the ropes. Nova walks round to the other side of the ring, clapping Michaels as he holds onto the top rope waiting for Caleb. Eventually, Vendetta's General Manager brings himself back up to his feet and turns around. As he does, The Showstealer pulls back on the ropes and jumps up onto the them, before springboarding off and smacking Spires directly in the face with a Springboard Forearm Smash! Michaels' fans cheer, as Caleb hits the mat hard and Michaels quickly rolls into the cover, hooking the far leg.

1....
2.....
Kick out!

Michaels questions the ref's count, as he gets back up to his feet. He reaches down again and pulls Caleb to his feet, leaning in on him and whipping him off to the ropes. However it gets reversed by The Elite One and it is David Michaels who is sent shooting off against the ropes instead. Michaels rebounds back in and goes for a wild Clothesline, but get caught by a quickly ducking Caleb who wraps his right arm under the chin of Michaels. Caleb then bends his legs, looking to lift Michaels up and nail the Caution (Side Effect), but David instead sends a couple of stiff right elbows into the side of Spires' head. Caleb has no choice but to let go and actually stumbles back to the ropes, needing to gather his bearings. As he does, David Michaels shoots off to the opposite ropes and bounces off and charges right at Caleb, Clotheslining him over to the top rope and to the floor. The force actually sends Michaels flying over the ropes as well, as Caleb thuds to the floor. But Michaels, apparently in complete control of what he was doing, manages to hold onto the top rope and pulls himself back up and over, Skinning the Cat so to speak. He touches back down into the ring on his feet and remains gripped to the top rope with both his hands. Then, as Caleb Spires slowly pulls himself back up, Michaels shoots over the top rope and nails the former five time XWA World Heavyweight Champion with a Slingshot Crossbody! The crowd give off the mixed reaction once more, as Caleb thuds the floor a second time and Michaels hurts himself in the process as well. However Michaels manages to sit up and leans on the barricade, as the fans in the front row above him all begin to tap him on the shoulders.

Cedar:
"...Slingshot Crossbody by Michaels. Caleb is knocked down on the floor once again!"

Dennis:
"Well Michaels picked up the pace right there and it clearly paid off. But can Michaels now capitalise?!"

Cedar:
"Well we'll find out, right after this!"

The show cuts to a commercial break...mid-card bitches love commercial breaks.

----------

Bitches loves rice too.
----------

The show returns with the instant image of David Michaels whipping Caleb Spires knees first into the steel steps.

Cedar:
"...oh! And welcome back to Vendetta ladies and gentlemen where, as you can see, Michaels has been on the offensive for the past couple of minutes."

Dennis:
"Michaels looks as though he's stopped being a jackass for once in his life and is actually taking it to his opponent."

Cedar:
"I'm still going to tell him you say this stuff..."

Dennis:
"...shut up!"

Caleb leans over the steps, his knee tweeking due to bashing into the thing, before he slowly hobbles around them and rolls back into the ring. The ref, meanwhile, is yelling at David telling him to bring the action back in or he'll be disqualified. Michaels holds his arms up in innocence, before climbing up onto the ring apron spotting Caleb laying on the mat. The Heartbreak Kid then mounts the top turnbuckle, carefully positioning himself in order not to slip. He slowly stands upright before leaping off, looking for a Splash as he flies through the air. At the very last second, however, Caleb rolls out of the way towards the corner Michaels just leaped from, leaving the airborne Michaels to crash land face and chest first into the mat. Caleb then forces himself to get up, hoping his hurting left knee will go away. He stretches it out a few times while he leans in on the corner. However, seeing as though Michaels is getting back up to his feet, Caleb Spires decides he needs to fly and turns around, pulling himself up onto the top turnbuckle. With his back to the air, Caleb puts caution to the wind and leaps backwards off the top, hitting a wonderful Moonsault to the recovering David Michaels! Caleb uses the landing's momentum to grab both whaling legs of Michaels for the pin, the crowd cheering.

1....
2.....
Kick out!

Michaels pops out of the cover at the last second, not knowing what hit him, as Nova nearly has a heart attack on the outside. Caleb sits up and looks up at the ref, wanting the three, but it doesn't arrive. The 2009 Hall of Famer doesn't waste time arguing with the ref, however, and gets back to his feet as quick as he can knowing he needs to take the advantage over Michaels. He gets to his feet and begins to stalk David Michaels, who is on all fours attempting to get back up. Once he does make it back to his feet, Caleb, who is stood behind him, pounces forwards and latches onto both of his arms, over hooking them both. The fans get to their feet, as Caleb Spires is going for one of his favourite moves The Facial (Unprettier)! The General Manager twists him around and looks as though he is indeed going to drop down and hit the move, but Michaels desperately gets his arms free and shoves Caleb away as hard as he can. The force sends Caleb into the ropes and as he rebounds back, Michaels leaps into the air with one of the best Dropkicks in the business, connecting flush with his chin. Caleb drops to the mat like a ton of bricks, as Michaels lands on his stomach and quickly hooks the far leg of Caleb.

2.....
Shoulder up!

Cedar:
"Oh what a Dropkick from Michaels...almost gets the three right there!"

Dennis:
"Dat' Dropkick...how Caleb kicked out of that, I don't know. That had to knock him out for a moment..."

Cedar:
"That's why he's considered one of the very best ever, Adam. He has instincts that are unmatched with anyone else."

Dennis:
"Yeah, but the state of his teeth now may not tell a different story..."

Michaels slaps the mat as he sits up, thinking he might of had him then. He shakes his head at the ref, who overly exaggerates well telling him it was only a two count, before getting back up to his feet. He pulls the hair to the back of his head, before reaching back down and pulling at Caleb's, bringing him to his feet. Michaels wraps his left arm around Caleb's head before taking Caleb's left arm and placing it over his own. Michaels then pops his hips and lifts Caleb up. The Elite One's fans begin to cheer, as Caleb lands behind Michaels and they all think he got out of the move. But they are wrong, as Michaels suddenly pulls down and drives Caleb's head into the mat with a Neckbreaker, his patented Suplex into a Neckbreaker combination. Michaels floats over into a Lateral Press.

1....
2.....
Shoulder up!

Michaels rolls his eyes, again annoyed that didn't get the three. However, he gets back to his feet and holds his index finger up to the crowd, motioning for one more. He then methodically reaches down and drags a hurting Caleb Spires up to his knees. He latches his left arm around his head once again and pulls him completely up. He pops his hips a second time and lifts Spires, looking for the same move. He floats Caleb over and he lands on his feet, but as Michaels is about to drop him down for the Neckbreaker again, Caleb rapidly switches around and grabs a hold of Michaels left arm and drops him down to the mat, wrapping his legs around it, before locking his hands around David Michaels' face and has the Inspired (Crippler Crossface) locked right in! The Elite One's fans go wild, as his finishing hold appears to be locked perfectly in. Michaels free arm and legs scramble around, looking for a way out of this match ending move. Luckily for him, he finds it almost right away as Caleb has the move locked in pretty close to the ropes. Michaels grabs a hold of the ropes with his free right arm and legs, managing to forcefully drag himself under the ropes and, thus, out of the ring. Michaels stands next to the apron, grasping at his left arm as even being that hold for a few seconds can cause a World of hurt. Caleb scramble back up to his feet, his knee feeling a little better without any offence to it recently and sprints across to the ropes, bouncing off and then Baseball Sliding into David's left arm, knocking him down to the floor. The arm was already hurting. Now, it's in a crazy amount of pain from that Baseball Slide. Caleb Spires slides out of the ring and pulls Michaels up, pushing him back into the ring before following him back in himself. Caleb appears to have smelt blood like a Shark and immediately goes on an onslaught of vicious kicks and elbows to the left arm of David Michaels.

Cedar:
"...and Caleb has created that weak point and he's damn sure going to exploit it!"

Dennis:
"Good. At least these two are not kissing one another's asses and are willing to hurt the other..."

Caleb continues to pummel away at that arm with vicious stomps, before quickly dragging Michaels up and reaching around his waist. As he does, he latches onto Michaels left arm trapping it behind him. He then pops his hips and tosses The Showstealer over his head, with a Belly-to-Belly Suplex. The arm remains trapped and Michaels own weight crushes the arm underneath him, as he lands on the mat and rolls over clutching it in great pain. Caleb then kneels up and pushes Michaels onto his back, hooking the far leg.

1....
2.....
Shoulder up!

Michaels pops his right up, getting out of the pin, before sitting up and seeing to the injured left arm. Michaels attempts to get up, getting to one knee before Caleb gets to his feet and pulls Michaels arm up, locking his arms around the arm and opposite side of his head in a Standing Crossface. Caleb places as much pressure as he can on the arm and head of Michaels, pulling back on them viciously determined to get that pain running through Michaels. Michaels struggles up from the one knee knowing he must get out of this. Eventually David places all his weight on Caleb and pushes him into the ropes, shoving him off to the opposite set in the process. Caleb then rebounds off the ropes and races back towards Michaels, ducking a Clothesline attempt in the process. As Michaels turns around, Caleb jumps onto the middle rope in front of him and springboards backwards into the ring, looking to take out his opponent. But as the Caleb Spires fans are about to cheer for their hero connecting, it is the HBK fans that leap into the air, for David Michaels jumps up and catches Caleb Spires with both his knees, nailing him with a mid-air Heartbreaker (Codebreaker). Caleb tumbles onto the mat, definitely not expecting that. A smattering of "THAT WAS AWESOME!" chants begin to be heard, but never materialise into something major around the arena. Struggling with his injured left arm, Michaels rolls over into a loose cover.

1.....
2......
Shoulder up!

Spires shoots his right arm up at the last moment, keeping the potential World Heavyweight Championship alive for himself. Michaels then takes a moment to sit up and check on his left arm, which is really causing him distinct pain. He pulls it out a few times, trying to get some feeling back, but it isn't helping him in the slightest. He gives up on it and gets back up to his feet. Caleb, meanwhile, is trying to do the same thing before Michaels decides to help him. Rather stupidly, once Spires is back up, Michaels decides to Scoop Slam him in the centre of the ring, hurting him arm even more while Caleb slams into the mat. Michaels then, clearly not with his thinking cap on, wanders over to the corner and climbs through the ropes before descending up to the top turnbuckle. His arm causes this simple process to take almost an eternity and once he finally does make it to the top, Caleb Spires has since got to his feet and jumps forwards, landing across the top rope. Michaels loses his footing entirely and split legs the top turnbuckle, to the pain of the fans who all felt that one. Caleb takes a few moments to catch his breath, before climbing through the ropes and deciding he needs to join Michaels on that top turnbuckle. He slowly gets up there, with a bad left leg and all, and punches David in the gut a few times who, in turn, is attempting to get back up to his feet. Spires drags him up and looks behind himself, planning out something pretty crazy here as the fans all get to their feet preparing themselves for a mark out moment.

Cedar:
"What a minute...what is Caleb thinking here?! He's not trying to Superplex him to the outside is he?!"

Dennis:
"The hell is he thinking?! He'll bring them both right down on top of us!"

Caleb pulls The Heartbreak Kid up to both of his feet and indeed places him in a Suplex position. Caleb is on the top turnbuckle as well, but his back isn't towards the ring, it's towards the outside of the ring! Caleb actually attempts to hit the move, as the fans are not even sure they want to see this train wreck! Caleb yanks back several times, but Michaels is somehow managing to hold onto the top rope beneath him preventing the move from happening. Caleb Spires refuses to not hit this move, however, and goes for it again. But this time, it's one try too many and he unbalances himself completely loosing his footing. As he starts to fall down, he drags Michaels with him, grabbing his left arm and wrapping it over the top rope as he falls to the floor. Michaels arm whiplashes back off the ropes in a terrible way and lands in the ring, rolling around screaming in pain, while Caleb thuds to the floor in front of the announce table and tweaks his left knee once again. Caleb rolls around on the floor in front of the announce table, holding his leg, before he sits up and tries to loosen his knee pad. In the ring, Michaels is laid out on the mat holding his injured left arm. Both men are evidently hurt and since Caleb is on the outside, the referee begins to count him out. As the ref begins his slow count, the fans begin to play a tug of war between their heroes, reigniting the "LETS GO CA-LEB!" "HBK!" chants from earlier on in the match, creating a wonderful atmosphere and showing that both men have strong followings. The is now making his way up to a count of seven, with Caleb Spires slowly pulling himself up onto the apron. He eventually makes it up to the apron just on the count of nine and climbs to climbs through the ropes, when David Michaels suddenly surges forwards from all fours and Chop Blocks his left knee. The crowd give off that mixed reaction once again, as Caleb drops to the mat clutching at his leg once again. Michaels buys himself a few moments to get back up to his feet as a result of that quick thinking.

Cedar:
"And Michaels...Chop Blocks the injured leg! He saw that Caleb hurt it a while ago and he appears to have tweaked it again, so he goes right at it."

Dennis:
"He's finally using his brain..."

With Nova applauding in her sexy cat outfit on the outside, The Showstealer makes his way back up to a vertical base. Seeing Caleb laying on the mat, he decides to return the onslaught favour from earlier and goes on an all out attack on that left leg of Spires'. Kick after kick, elbow after elbow, Michaels is relentless in hurting that knee as much as he can. Michaels then reaches down, picking Caleb up by his head, sensing he can really get control here. Caleb, rather desperately, goes to actually kick Michaels in the gut with his left left but David catches it and Dragon Whips it, pulling back on the knee hard and twisting it at an awkward angle. Caleb is shot to the floor, holding his knee once more ans he yells out in agony. Michaels then reaches down and pulls up the leg, dragging him towards the corner the two men fell from. Michaels then drops down to the mat and wriggles under the ropes, pulling Caleb's legs around the ring post. Caleb attempts to battle back, but it's no use, as Michaels pulls the left leg back and then wraps it around the solid steel post. The Elite One isn't looking so Elite right now, as he sits up and reaches through the ropes holding onto his leg. Michaels tells the referee, who is leaning through the ropes, to shut his mouth as he goes for the leg again. As he goes to wrap it around the post for a second time, Caleb, really ticked off, pulls his leg back towards him and sends Michaels arm first into the post! Caleb pushes himself away from the corner, not wanting to feel that post again, while a now hurting David Michaels leans upon the ring apron really feeling the hurt from that post. The former five time XWA World Heavyweight Champion makes it back to his feet, albeit in a gingerly manner and holds onto the hair of Michaels. Taking his head Caleb, with some sort of pace, brings Michaels over to the turnbuckle post (Michaels still on the apron) and goes to smash his face into it. Michaels quickly puts his foot on the second turnbuckle and blocks it, hitting Caleb in the stomach before whacking his head off the top turnbuckle pad instead. Michaels then shakes out his arm once again, as Caleb drops to one knee, before he climbs up to the top turnbuckle once more. Michaels then reaches down and grabs onto Caleb's head, only for Caleb to reply with a swift right open hand to the jaw. Michaels sits down on the top and moves back it a bit, knocked out for a breath moment from that shot. Caleb Spires, meanwhile, climbs up on the top turnbuckle to join his opponent wasting little time. Caleb then jumps up and seats himself on David's shoulder, looking for a spectacular Frakensteiner! But David Michaels manages to stop it from happening, by holding onto Caleb's legs and preventing the two men from flipping over. Then, bad arm and all, Michaels uses all his might knowing the XWA World Heavyweight Championship he hasn't held in over three years could be at the end of the tunnel and pulls Caleb back up. As Spires is forced back into that seated position on Michaels, The Showstealer knows just what he is doing next and moves Caleb right leg off of him before elbowing him in the gut. Caleb Spires, after that gut shot, leans over across Michaels right shoulder. Michaels the slowly crosses Caleb's legs over and then leaps off the top turnbuckle, driving both of his knee hard into the mat with a Knee Breaker Bomb! (Samoa Joe does it, for reference. Not sure of it's actual name) The crowd instantly bursts into a "HOLY SHIT!" chant, as Caleb's whole body pushes down on both of his legs, in particular his injured left knee. Both men then lay on the canvas absolutely worn out at this point.

Cedar:
"What a reversal by David Michaels. Caleb looked certain to hit that Frakensteiner! Michaels may have saved himself the match right there."

Dennis:
"Well if Caleb's knee wasn't screwed up before, it damn sure is now!"

Cedar:
"...well both men are down. Which one will get back to their feet first? We'll be right back after this short commercial break!"

Dennis:
"More adverts? FOR FU--"

The show promptly cuts off to another, albeit short, commercial break. Those mid-card bitches sure love their ad breaks...

----------

Bitches love vibrations too.
----------

The show returns with both men stirring in the ring, starting to get back to their feet. Both are on all fours and begin to lean into one another. Both slowly use the other to get back to their feet, eventually making it up but both spent of energy. Michaels then shoots off the first right hand, smashing it hard into Spire's chin, who then returns the favour with a stiff right hand of his own. The ref tells both men to open those fists, but is just completely ignored as David smashes a second right fist into the side of Caleb's face. The crowd cheer for each blow, as Spires once again returns that right punch. Michaels stumbles back, before laying another fist in. Caleb immediately replies with the hardest of his rights, following it up with another directly and then another! Caleb forces The Showstealer back onto the ropes, whipping him off. Michaels is shot across the ring and rebounds back off the other ropes. He looks for a rather desperate Clothesline, only for Caleb to duck it like earlier and grab a hold of him under the chin. Caleb Spires then lifts David Michaels up and drops him down with the Caution (Side Effect) and quickly rolls into the cover, hooking the far leg.

Shoulder up!

Caleb kneels up as he fails to get the three count, sure he had him. Michaels rolls onto his side holding his arm again, hurting it more as he naturally went to break his fall. The Elite One climbs back up to his feet and looks out at the crowd, who give him a mixed reaction. He then holds his arm up into the air and looks down at his opponent, before reaching down with that same arm and dragging him back up to his feet. Once Michaels is upright, Caleb stands behind him and picks him up in between his legs with one arm and the other around his head. The crowd gets to their feet, as Caleb Spires is about to nail the Burning Hammer. However Michaels wriggles and lands on his feet. Caleb turns around, shocked and Michaels picks him straight in his bad knee, before leaping up and bringing his right leg down upon his head with his favourite Fameasser! The HBK fan cheer with excitement, as Michaels reaches over for the hook of the far leg.

2............
Shoulder up!

Cedar:
"Spires gets the shoulder up! It's just near fall after near fall with these two men!"

Dennis:
"Both want to win so bad, this match just may never end!"

The Heartbreak Kid stumbles back up to his feet wondering if he can actually keep this fellow Hall of Famer down. After checking his arm again, he reaches down and pulls Spires back up to his feet. He turns him round to his side and then grabs his left leg, pulling him up looking for a Shinebreaker, but CAleb suddenly uses the momentum to flip right over Michaels, grabbing him between the legs and rolling him up in a School Boy Pin!

Kick out!

The crowd can't believe that almost got Caleb the win, as Michaels pushes Caleb off at the very last moment. Both men scramble to their feet, Michaels surging his right fist forwards looking to strike Caleb down, but it's ducked and Caleb Spires latches onto it, turning Michaels round looking for that Facial (Unprettier) a second time. Michaels, lucky to get out of the move last time, manages to do it again by simply continuing to swing round hoping he can catch Spires when he's back up. But Caleb has it scouted and when Michaels and he are back up straight, Caleb suddenly latches onto the left arm and forces Michaels down onto the mat, wrapping both of his legs around it and then lock his hands across the face of the Sexy Boy - his Inspired (Crippler Crossface) finisher is locked in again and this time, both men are in the dead centre of the ring! The crowd roars as Michaels seemingly has absolutely nowhere to go and the relentless General Manager of the XWA pulls back on his face as hard as he can!

Cedar:
"The Inspired! The Inspired Crossface is locked in! He has Michaels right in the centre of the ring too. This may be the end of the line for The Showstealer!"

Dennis:
"Good! Tear his damn face off and break his arm!"

Cedar:
"...so you're a Caleb Spires fan now?!"

Dennis:
"Only when he writes my pay cheques..."

Caleb Spires continues to rip back at that face and shoulder of Michaels, putting every ounce of energy he has left into the move. Michaels can be heard screaming in pain, his arm feeling as though it is about to dislocate and his face as though it's being pulled clean off of him! Caleb is clearly desperate for this to be the end of the match and keeps yelling out "TAP! TAP! TAP!" over and over again at Michaels. Nova is holding her face on the outside, not believing this is about to be the end of Michaels' World Title aspirations. The Heartbreak Kid reaches out with his free right arm, still a million miles away from the ropes. He slowly shuffles his body across the ring, trying to use his legs to get to the ropes. Caleb puts as much weight down as he possibly can, attempting to prevent the rope break from happening, but Michaels' right leg gets closer and closer to the ropes. He then tries to loosen the grip of Caleb, which is a complete no go, before pulling himself across another few inches before the crowd give off that mixed reactions once more, as Michaels foot just manages to pull itself over the bottom rope!

Cedar:
"He gets to the ropes! What guts and determination by Michaels!"

Dennis:
"Dammit!"

Caleb, completely frustrated that Michaels didn't tap out, refuses to let go of the hold pulling back on it even further than before. The referee quickly counts to five before deciding not to disqualify Caleb, by drag him off instead. Eventually, after much struggle, the ref succeeds and the irate Spires lets go of the hold, with the damage certainly being done. He gets back to his feet and actually begins arguing with the ref, before lightly shoving him away. With sweat dripping from his forehead, Caleb stands over his opponent and looks down as he clutches at his left arm trying to get up. Caleb, with that focused look upon his face, quickly pulls David up and turns him around. He places his right arm between his legs and his left around his head, about to pick him up in that Burning Hammer once more. But Michaels suddenly bursts into life and flips around, grabbing hold of Caleb's left left and wrapping his own around it, before pushing him back and rolling the pair over. Once Caleb is on his back, Michaels reaches over and pulls back at the left leg of Caleb Spires, locking in his deadly Break a Leg (Calf Killer) finishing hold! The HBK fans cheers with joy, as Spire's fans go silent in disbelief that Michaels somehow got his hold locked on!

Cedar:
"...and now Michaels...Break a Leg! He has the Break a Leg locked in! Caleb must be in terrible pain, as Michaels has worked that knee all match long!"

Dennis:
"How the hell did he reverse into that?!"

Caleb yells out in pain, as he wasn't expected to suddenly be in this hold after sensing the victory. Michaels viciously pulls back on the leg with all his might applying as much pressure as humanly possible. Caleb clutches tightly onto his hair, pulling it hard due to pain his leg is going through. Michaels simply refuses to apply any less pressure than the maximum he can, as Spires begins attempting to crawl his way to the ropes. He drives the tips of his fingers into the mat, clawing away at it dragging himself forward inch by inch. The Showstealer does his best to make it hard for his opponent, but feels himself being dragged backwards in a tremendous show of strength. Caleb is now only a matter of inches away from the bottom rope, as Michaels looks round and see it, pulling at the leg as much as he can. Finally, with one last reach out, Caleb Spires catches the bottom rope and the referee immediately calls for the break. As the fans continue their mixed reactions, with have been a theme of the entire match, David Michaels decides to return the favour from earlier and doesn't break the hold even when the ref reaches the count of five! The ref, once again, doesn't give the disqualification but pulls Michaels off of Caleb before giving him an even more stern telling off than Caleb got. Michaels doesn't remotely listen, however, and stumbles back up to his feet landing across the turnbuckles in the corner.

Cedar:
"These two just will not quit. One kicks out, the other does the same. Then one refuses to tap out and then the other refuse too as well! I could watch this all night!"

Dennis:
"Why would you want to watch mid carders all night?!"

Michaels turns around in the corner, pulling his sweat soaked hair to the back of his head as he surveys the situation. The ref is checking on Caleb, who is on his side holding his knee. Michaels sees this as a good chance to catch his breath before he even considers what to do next. Until, that is, he realises where he is standing. Suddenly, Michaels latches onto the top rope to his left and begins stomping his right foot into the mat. Despite the whole audience being split, nearly all of them begin stomping away in unison with The Heartbreak Kid, as his stomps become quicker and quicker, stalking the record holding World Champion. The Elite One slowly gets back up to his feet, while Nova suddenly clambers up onto the ring apron and does her best to get the referees attention. As she finally gets it and the ref starts to do his best in order to get Nova off the apron, Michaels side steps in and launches that match ending right foot into the air, looking for some Sweet Chin Music, but being a master of the Superkick for pretty much his whole career, Caleb Spires sees it coming a mile off and manages to duck underneath, quickly reversing it by catching the leg and lifting Michaels up onto his shoulder for a third attempt at the Burning Hammer. However, the crowd are all screaming in shock, as someone just slide from under the ring. As Caleb turns around, he is about to send David Michaels to sleep once and for all with the Burning Hammer when WHACK! The thud of a steel chair being wrapped around the skull of Caleb Spires can be heard around the whole arena, as JHalc of all people wraps the classic wrestling weapon over his head! Michaels tumbles down from the shoulder of Caleb, who instantly collapses down to one knee, the chair wrapped around his head and neck area. The referee is still being completely distracted by Nova, as JHalc stares at Caleb and has a sick grin across his face. Caleb, now running on pure instinct, stnads back up and sees JHalc smiling at him and with the chair still wrapped around his head, he stumbles round and walks directly into some Sweet Chin Music from David Michaels! The kick sends the chair smashing into his face and finally the legendary XWA Superstar crumbles to the floor, lifeless. JHalc then pulls the chair away from Caleb, as the crowd watch on in near silence in pure shock and astonishment at what just happened. The Jack of Hearts then rolls out of the ring, chair in hand, and kneels down out of view as Nova conveniently drops down from the ring apron and leaves the ref be. Michaels, actually spent from this match, has since fallen to his knees and tells the ref to count, as he reaches down and hooks the far leg of the motionless Caleb Spires.

DING...DING...DING!!!

Watts:
"Here is your winner...The Showstealer...DAVIDDDDD MICHAELSSSSSSS!!!"

Cedar:
"Dammit! What the hell just happened?! Not like this...not like this dammit!"

Dennis:
"I'm con...the heck?!"

Cedar:
"This is a damn screwjob! Why the hell did JHalc just help Michaels win the damn match?!"

Dennis:
"...but they hate each other...I...WHAT?!"

As the bell chimes three times, Michaels shoves Caleb's leg down to the mat with authority, as he sits up and holds his left arm in pain and also anger. Nova leaps into the air, ecstatic that David Michaels just earned the victory. JHalc slowly rises to his feet, as a camera shot shows a menacing look across his face as he slowly climbs back into the ring. Nova also enters the ring, while the ref sees to the out cold Caleb. Michaels slowly brings himself back up to his feet, as JHalc stands several feet behind him with that chair still in hand that he elegantly just wrapped around Caleb's skull. Michaels, pulling his hair back, turns around and spots The Jack of Hearts. He instantly takes a step back, appearing not to expect to see him there. But then, all is revealed as a cocky grin slowly rises over his face and the two men hold both their arms up into the air and double high five.

Cedar:
"Oh give me a break...this was all damn set up!"

Dennis:
"...my God...that is actually genius! They had us all fooled Cedar!"

The two bitter enemies who have been at each others throats for the past month or so, are now stood in the middle of the ring smiling at one another. Nova gives Michaels a quick hug, before all their attention turns to Caleb. The crowd are confused, not sure in what the hell this means, but it doesn't look good for Caleb. JHalc crazily swings the chair at the ref, who quickly leaps out of the ring and away from JHalc's unpredictable chair swinging capabilities. Michaels then kneels down next to the knocked out Spires and begins saying things in his ear, none of which is picked up by a microphone. JHalc then reaches in his back pocket and brings out a can of spray paint, passing it to Michaels as he gets back up to his feet. Michaels begins to shake the can when the lights suddenly go completely off. After a few moments, they come back on to an eruption from the crowd, as Caleb's NWD tag team partner, "The Dragon Tamer" Kanimaniac, is now in the ring! JHalc, Michaels and Nova all clear the ring in almost record time as Kanimaniac races across to grab any one of them. The three jogs back up the ramp, before they stop midway and look back at what they have left. Michaels has a distinct smile on his face, as JHalc looks ready to annihilate anybody right now. Michaels points at Kanimaniac and quickly crotch chops him, before all three head back up the ramp. Kanimaniac shakes his head as he looks on, thinking he knew those three, before he turns around and begins to help his friend and tag partner. On the ramp, Michaels, JHalc and Nova make it to the entrance staging where XWA COO Smoke Xtreme is stood waiting, just clapping his hands at what he just saw. Was this all a big game? Did Smoke pay off Michaels and JHalc to ensure Caleb didn't get in the Chamber? The crowd boos heavily as those questions run through their minds. As the three World shockers stumble upon Smoke, the COO extends his right hand offering it to Michaels with a massive grin upon his face. Michaels looks at him with a blank face, before looking at the hand. He then extends his own, going to shake it, before moving it away at the last second and sticking his middle finger up right in his face. JHalc begins to laugh, as does Nova, as Michaels informs him to ever so politely "SHOVE IT!". Smoke looks extremely annoyed, as Michaels and JHalc clearly are not aligned with the COO of this company. All three then head off behind the curtain, as Smoke turns to the ring and can't help but smile at the sight of Caleb Spires laid out in the centre of that ring.

Cedar:
"...well not a damn bit of this is making any sense! First JHalc and Michaels are on the same page, then it looks like they were working for Smoke...then Michaels tells Smoke to stick it! The hell is going on around here?!"

Dennis:
"Wait a minute...it this that Devolution crap Michaels was on about?!"

Cedar:
"That still doesn't make any damn sense, Adam!"

Dennis:
"HEY! Don't bite my damn head off!"

Cedar:
"We'll be right back after this, ladies and gentlemen...those three have a HELL of a lot of explaining to do..."

The crowd are left with a strange feeling running around the arena, not entirely sure what just went down. Did Michaels just turn on Caleb? Did he just join JHalc? Is that was Devolution was? Is he working for Smoke?! Thought the latter of those questions is probably the most unlikely, the crowd simply can never tell with David Michaels and JHalc. Those two have been wanting to tear each other apart and now they appear to be on the same page! The show cuts to a commercial break, as we are left with the site of Kanimaniac helping his friend Caleb up into a seated position...

David Michaels vs. Caleb Spires: Chamber Qualifier Empty
PostSubject: Re: David Michaels vs. Caleb Spires: Chamber Qualifier   David Michaels vs. Caleb Spires: Chamber Qualifier EmptySat Sep 28, 2013 9:29 pm

Electricity fills the arena, every fan on the edge of their seats, buzzing with excitement for what we are about to witness. A match that was once slated to be the main event of Xtrememania now on television for free. Both men respected opponents, but with a complete desire to be the best that won’t allow respect to get in the way of their goals. In the corner of David Michaels stands his off-screen wife, Nova. In the back of Caleb’s mind, he remembers the last time he was in the ring with David in a high stake’s match. His longest-reigning, 206-day heavyweight championship ended just like that. That exact moment being in David’s mind too, with the realization that he has beaten Caleb before and he can do it again as both men stare at each other intently, not losing focus for a single second as the referee find it fit to ring the bell to start the match.

~Ding! Ding! Ding!~

Neither man makes any sudden movement, knowing that jumping the gun can lead to a bad start that would set a bad tone for the rest of the match. Instead, they begin circling each other, not moving their eyes away from each other to let the other one know that they are going to be in for the match of their life tonight. Spires makes the first step toward the center, calling the Showstealer to meet him in the middle. David is eerie of the offer, knowing that The Elite One has been an underhanded douchebag and tried to get an easy upper hand in the past. Nonetheless, he isn’t scared and meets him in the center of the ring. Instead of trying a cheap tactic, The Elite One offers a handshake. Though completely focused on the task at hand, Michaels has a deep respect for his opponent and takes him up on his handshake. Turns out that Caleb wasn’t just making a nice offer. Just a second after grabbing Caleb’s hand to shake it, Michaels finds himself being thrown straight to his back, courtesy of a sneaky headlock takedown leading into a pin.

1-

David locks his hands around The Inspiring’s waist and bridges as best as he can to shift momentum and break the pin, leaving Caleb scrambling back up to his feet before he is rolled to his back. HBK gets back to his feet as well. He is not completely surprised at the headlock by Spires and simply nods with a blank expression while The Elite One has a cocky grin on his face as he shrugs. David knows it is for a shot at the championship and if anything is upset that he is the one that didn’t do it first, rather than get angry at Caleb. He and Caleb start circling again, getting closer and closer to close the gap and the first to make a move is David, getting into a lock-up with the 5x heavyweight champion. Clearly, he has the strength advantage and manages to gain the upper hand by underhooking The Elite One and trying to hip toss him over his back. Naturally, the agility and athleticism of Spires gives him the opportunity to rotate through the hip toss and land on his feet, still hooked by Michaels and tries to counter it with an arm drag. Being just as flashy as his adversary, The Showstealer makes his athleticism known by rolling through the arm drag and right back up to his feet, pausing for a second to look at Caleb who is staring straight back

Ted Cedar: “Intense start to the match with both men showing their insanely similar styles and technical sides. Looks like we may be in for a long match.”

Adam Dennis: “If THAT’s the case, wake me when it’s over. I’ve been waiting for the right time to take a nap and these two never fail me in that aspect.”

Both of them are so equally-matched that they don’t know what to do to try and get an upper hand. Times like this call to get more physical. The two lock up yet again, but this time a change in force as they are pushing harder and getting more physical. With the strength advantage, Michaels manages to snap his opposition into a front face-lock. As Spires tries to fight out of it, he is met with a knee to the gut to knock the wind out of him for a brief second. That brief second just long enough to spin around behind The Elite One and jerk up on his arm, synching in a good-ol’-fashioned hammerlock. The Showstealer torques up on Caleb’s arm, attempting to pull his shoulder out of its socket and the pain is apparent if you take one look at the grimace across Caleb’s face. Instead of trying to counter it, Spires does his most logical action by backing up as hard as he can, sending David into the corner, with The Elite One pressing up against him, forcing a rope break.

1-

Michaels lets go of the general manager’s arm and puts his hands up in the air so he can’t be accused of trying to get an unfair advantage. Once released, Caleb steps out of the corner, rotating his shoulder so that he can get feeling back into it. He, of course, has his eyes off of David for a split second. Once he turns around to get involved in the match again, it is too late to escape the running clothesline delivered to him as David explodes out of the corner, wrapping his entire arm around the 5x heavyweight champion’s neck and making him crumble to the mat. As Spires rubs his neck to get kinks out, HBK drops on top with a hooked leg.

1-2

As to be expected this early on, the fall isn’t really much of a close call as both men are still fresh and with gas tanks that hardly ever run out. Michaels gets off of him after the cover didn’t work and it doesn’t take long for Caleb to follow suit and meet him back to his feet. Back to square one as the two begin circling yet again. This time when the two go to lock up, The Elite One goes back to his high school roots by ducking the lock-up, wrapping both arms behind The Showstealer’s knee caps and rushes into him, knocking him off balance with a double leg takedown that sends Michaels straight to the mat and on his back as he starts turning to his stomach to avoid a pin attempt. As Spires attempts to lock in a chickenwing so that he can run him over for a pin, David scrambles away from him, trying to get a distance so that he can get back up to his feet, and the size advantage manages to help him do so.

Adam Dennis: “OH MY GOD, you’ve got to be kidding me. Do something exciting guys, for Christ sake…”

Ted Cedar: “No use in wasting their energy this early on.”

Adam Dennis: “What would you know about conserving energy you raging fat-ass? Shut your mouth and stop acting like you know wrestling.”

Surely enough though, the energy levels are starting to go down.  Caleb stands his distance from Michaels, not sure if he should take action and risk a foolish mistake, or play defense and hope it works out. Once HBK comes lunging at him, he makes the decision for defense. Spires leaps into the air and sticks out both legs, dropkicking The Showstealer in the chest hard enough to take him completely off of his feet and land on the mat hard, completely unexpecting of the kick. The force of the kick was enough to knock the wind out of him for the time being and after he hits the ground, he rolls under the bottom rope but out to the apron to help gain his composure and get his head back into the match. As he heaves to get his oxygen flow back to normal, David begins to get to his feet whilst on the apron, and Spires wastes no time by rushing to him in an attempt to shoulderblock him right off of the apron. But once he reaches his destination, he is caught in the stomach with a hard, stiff knee from David going in between the middle and top ropes, causing Caleb to lose his balance and drape his upper body over the top rope. With The Elite One shortly incapacitated, Michaels knows that he has to act fast if he can weaken him for an extended period of time, so he doesn’t give a second thought to draping Spires’ arm over his neck and hook his pants with a free hand. He hoists Caleb into the air and keeps him upside down as he stands on the apron, leaving fans of both gasping, wondering if Michaels is actually going to do it. Nova stands her distance, shaking her head back and forth as if trying to talk him out of it. The Inspiring tries wiggling out to avoid a very painful fate, but it is of no use as HBK falls back putting his own body on the line so that he can suplex over the top rope and out of the ring, slamming him down hard on the thin padding outside of the ring.

Ted Cedar: “Bah GAWD! Michaels was willing to risk everything to inflict damage onto Spires and it may have paid off!”

Adam Dennis: “What an idiot David is! There had to have been other ways to take Spires out without inflicting harm onto himself. Rookie mistake from a veteran, tsk tsk.”

The fans are going wild for the risky, yet effective, suplex  to the outside of the ring, leaving Caleb in a world of pain as he arches up and down, screaming in agonizing pain as he grabs at his back. David doesn’t feel too good either, as he caused himself to have a stiff back by performing the move, but he decides that he can tough it out. The general manager grabs onto the ring apron and squeezes with all of his might, trying to get his mind off of the pain in his back and possibly help himself back up to his feet. All the while, The Showstealer manages to show his resiliency by getting up as best as he can and throwing his arm s in the air as he spins around to get the split crowd into his corner while Caleb wallows in his own pain. The count-out time reaches 6 before Michaels comes up from behind Caleb, gets him in a waist-lock, and lifts him up on to the apron, shoving him in the ring. He gets in at the count of 7 and crawls over to the downed body of The Inspiring, hoping to pull out a quick one.

1-2-

With as much power as he can muster, The Elite One kicks out forcefully to try and send a statement that he will not be going down that easily, and David quite frankly isn’t too surprised, being in the ring with Spires enough times to know him better than most. David reaches his feet rather quickly, in a stance ready to attack as soon as The Elite One gets back up. Once the 5x heavyweight champion is on his hands and knees, Michaels comes running at him, grabs him by the head, and tries a swinging neckbreaker. However, as he is grabbed by his adversary, Spires twists out of it to get back to back with HBK and drops to his knees with both of his arms underhooking David’s arms and leans forward, putting David to his back with a crucifix pin.

1-2

Michaels kicks both feet up in the air and does a back summersault to get out of the pinning predicament and gets back up to his feet almost instantly as The Inspiring follows suit by getting up about a second after him and tries to catch The Showstealer off –guard by charging him. How well does this work out? Not very, seeing as once Spires is within attack range of Michaels, Michaels jumps up in the air, wraps both legs around Caleb’s neck and pulls backward as he brings Caleb down with him in a breath-taking hurricanrana. Before giving the slippery Elite One a chance to get out from under his legs, David sits on his and follows up with repeated forearms to the face of Spires as some fans begin to count them out. “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6…” The count gets up to six before Caleb pushes David’s legs hard enough to escape the grasp and stumble into a corner as he holds his face which has just received six stiff forearms into it. Michaels gets up in a hurry, poised with an attitude that he is ready to keep going. Once Spires steps out of the corner, much less than 100%, he is met with a boot to the stomach, causing him to bend down to breathe some fresh oxygen in. While he does this, David swiftly charges against the ropes and comes back to the bent-over Elite One, grabbing him by the neck and twisting him around, nailing the swinging neckbreaker he attempted earlier. This is followed up with almost an immediate float over pressing into the body of Spires to try and pick up a spot in the chamber.

1-2-

No dice for Caleb who shoots his arm off the mat to relieve his fans who are still pulling for him. As he rolls onto his stomach holding his neck, Michaels doesn’t want to allow him any resting time, so that he can weaken him more and more with the progression of the match. David circles around to the front of him and gets him in yet another front facelock like earlier and pulls Spires up to his feet like a rag doll with no control. Once Spires is to his feet, The Showstealer pulls his head in between his legs and tries to lift him off the mat in an upside down position, giving the impression that he is going for a piledriver. The fans of Spires are screaming for him to change heart, not wanting a favorite superstar with a broken neck. The Elite One can see this coming and frantically panics, kicking his legs in every which way to make David lose his grasp on him and drop him back to the mat on his feet, at which point Spires stands straight back up to his feet back body dropping The former heavyweight champion straight into his match, turning the momentum to his side as he falls forward into the ropes to keep his balance. Michaels is slightly frustrated at the tides turning that quickly and he gets back up to his feet so that he can get back into the driver’s seat. But that isn’t exactly how it all pans out. For once David gets back to his feet, he is caught with a spinning wheel kick as Spires lands a perfectly-executed spinning boot right to the face of The Showstealer, making his head snap back and fall back into the corner off-balanced. The Elite One gets back to his feet with an adrenaline rush, waiting for HBK to make another move. David, infuriated, pushes himself out of the corner and charges Spires. Caleb was waiting for this and he has himself in good position for Michaels when he comes charging. Once David is within reach, the former 5x heavyweight champion puts one arm around his shoulder and the other hooking his leg, throwing HBK over his head with a snap t-bone suplex.

Ted Cedar: “What an amazing counter! Spires has been catching his mojo for the last minute, it looks like he may be giving David a few headaches.”

Adam Dennis: “Let’s be honest, I don’t even care about the match. I’m just kind of waiting for Smoke Xtreme to come out and cost Caleb the match, we all know it’s coming…”

The momentum has finally picked up and the half/half crowd is making noise for both of their stars as Caleb jumps on top of David and hooks a leg.

1-2-

Caleb gets his first close call of the match, but David still kicks out without it scaring his fans too much. The Inspiring pushes himself right back up to his feet while it takes HBK a bit more time to do so, as he gets to his knees while arching his back. With Michaels slowly getting to his feet, but not all the way there, Caleb tries to cut his off by pouncing onto his back, locking his legs around his body, and trying to choke him to sleep, synching in a sleeper hold. The smaller opponent clings on like a spidermonkey that has no remorse for its prey. He latches onto his back as tightly as he can and squeezes harder than imaginable. But how is Michaels holding up in this whole process? Not very well, as he goes right back down to one knee and flails his arms each way back and forth  trying to club Spires off of him, but the sleeper hold is too tight to shake off too easily. David’s hair covers his fading eyes and you can almost see his face getting paler by the second as he sputters uncontrollably, trying to get an oxygen flow back to his brain. His arm is getting limper and limper and it is getting even tougher to get The Elite One off of his back. The referee crouches next to the two of them asking such things as “Are you done? Can you continue? If a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound?” None of these questions get answered as Michaels is possibly unconscious and unable to have a conversation with anyone at this point. The referee grips his arm and picks it up, dropping it to make sure he is still conscious. His arm drops and he doesn’t save himself. “1!” The fans of David are starting to get a bit nervous as it is starting to look like he may not be able to continue. The referee grabs his dangling arm yet again and picks it up above his head, letting it drop. Yet again, Michaels is unable to save himself, causing another count closer to loss. “2!” Nova stands by the apron, slapping it as hard as she can to try and pump up her man. Caleb keeps the grip applied, but is starting to slip out of it. He tries to hold on long enough to get in the elimination chamber as the referee grabs Michaels by the wrist and prepares to drop it again, half of the crowd screaming for HBK to save himself before it drops. He lets it drop and--- David manages to come back to life. He gets some feeling back in his arm and keeps it up, trying to break the hold by elbowing Caleb in the ribs as hard as he can. The elbow have a slight effect, making the grip loosen, giving The Showstealer more air, and helping him gain some strength back. At this point, David manages to get to a standing position, wobbly knees and all, and reaches up, grabbing Caleb by the head. With all the strength he can muster, he throws The Elite One forward, causing him to break the hold and sits out to catch a breather as The Inspiring grasps onto the nearest ropes to help him up to his feet as his mind says “Damn, that close…” He turns around and sees Michaels resting his back against the opposite ropes to try and get some stamina back. Caleb does not allow this and he begins headed in that direction with a fast pace. Once Spires is about halfway there, The Showstealer presses his back against the ropes to help gain momentum, and spring up, delivering a flying forearm to Caleb’s face, knocking him down and going down with him.

Ted Cedar: “We’ve seen this from David before! Looks like he is about to regain some lost energy, and I think we all know what’s coming next!”

Adam Dennis: “Is it sad how much I don’t care? This is only a middle card match, big deal. Both men are lucky to even get a shot at the elimination chamber.”

Both men lie on the mat, The Elite One holding his jaw that just got a flying forearm planted into it, and David panting heavily on the mat as the crowd begins a back and forth “Let’s go Ca-leb! Da-vid Mich-aels” chant that gets louder and louder with each chant. Suddenly, Michaels rocks back onto his shoulder and shows some amazing athleticism by kipping-up to his feet and garnering a loud response from the crowd who sees the look of complete anger across his face, ready to start the beginning of the end. He signals for Caleb to get back to his feet and subconsciously, Caleb gets back up, slightly spaghetti-legged. He turns around and is hoisted up into the air, only to have his babymakers dropped right on the knee of HBK with an inverted atomic drop and all the men in their audience take off their hats as a sign of respect. He look on the face of Spires says it all as he clutches his franks and beans, tears almost streaming down his face as he is met with a hard right hand to the face, dropping him down. The fighter in Spires yells at him to get back up, and he does so, but is just met with a big kick to his knee, making him off-balanced and sending him falling down to one knee with his head bent over. This gives David the perfect opportunity to leap in the air, stick his legs out, and perform a leg drop known as the fameasser across the back of Caleb’s neck and planting his beautiful face into the mat, making him bounce off the mat and slump over to his back as The Showstealer makes what might be the first legitimate pin attempt of the entire match.

1-2-

Spires manages to kick out, which comes as no surprise to the crowd or Michaels. However, Michaels is a tiny bit flustered that he has to deal with this damn tick even longer. David gets back up to his feet and crouches behind Spires, waiting for him to get back up so that he can reconstruct his face even more than the fameasser just did. The Elite One is in a little place called “La-la land” and has not a clue what is going on, with his brain a bit scrambled. Using the nearby ropes for a bit of leverage, he manages to pull himself back up to his feet, shaking his head to release any cobwebs in there and turns around to find Michaels leaping in the air, and pulling him down by the head into both his knees, delivering a heartbreaker so impactful that Spires’ head snaps back and he falls straight back on the mat with potential whiplash or a broken neck, bringing both cheers and concern from the crowd as he lie in the center of the ring. HBK drops down to the mat and rolls out to the apron, getting up and begins advancing toward the corner, the fans with a clue at what he is trying next. He reaches the corner and begins to climb the turnbuckle, fan support the entire way. With each step his mind is getting closer and closer to the thought of winning the heavyweight championship in the elimination chamber. Once he finally reaches the top, he takes a deep breath and takes a big leap to the center of the ring, throwing his elbow into the air and dropping it straight into the sternum of Spires, followed by getting up and throwing his fists in the air as a sign of success, gathering the crowd into an even louder cheer than previously.

Adam Dennis: “Today might be our lucky day. Looks as though Spires might be getting a foot planted straight into his fact. No complaints here.”

Ted Cedar: “Looks as though we are about to hear a beautiful chorus!”

Adam Dennis: “Ugh, that was the worst metaphor I have ever heard in my life…. You see, that’s why no one respects you.”

The Showstealer falls into the corner, hoisting his leg up in the air and dropping it, ready to tune up the band. He drops it on the mat and the fans yell out “one!” He does this for a second time, making a very audible “two!” Once he hits the mat a third time, Spires is starting to get back up, grasping his chest that just had the elbow driven into it, checking to see if he has a cracked sternum. “four!” Caleb is completely on his feet and he turns around to find HBK lunging out of the corner, ready to kick his head off. At the last second, The Elite One ducks it, avoiding a bad situation, and in one swift motion Spires bounces back up right into a back flip, nailing Michaels in the back of the head with an Encore making The Showstealer stumble forward. The Inspiring lies on the mat, recovering after doing a move that takes a lot out of him, and David falls forward over the top rope. It sounds as though he landed on the outside, but Michaels manages to grasp onto the top rope and hangs there for a short period of time, trying to clear his head from the Encore he just received. Once he shakes his head clear well enough, he pulls himself back into the ring upward, and rotating backward, known as ‘skinning the cat.’ The cat-skinning manages to make him land back into the ring, facing outward. Since he is facing outward, he doesn’t even realize that Caleb has recovered and is standing right behind him. As soon as he gets back in the ring, Spires grabs him by the arms and twists him around so that his head is in his back as he pulls him closer to the center and drops on his face as quickly as he can, giving him a Facial so magnificent that somewhere, Razor’s head snaps up, realizing he is missing out on all the fun somewhere. The Facial plants David face first into the mat and he might be out clod as the groggy Caleb uses whatever strength he may have left to turn him to his back, pulling his leg up in the air.

1-2-

Though taking two of Spires’ best moves in his arsenal, The Heart-Break Kid shows no quit by kicking out as authoritatively as he can to let Caleb know he’s in it for the long haul. The Elite One rises up as best as he can with shut eyes and takes a deep breath. It takes a bit of deteriorating energy to get back up to his feet, but he manages to get up in the end, though he almost collapses back to the mat. He clutches on to the top rope for good balance and raises his hand at David, insinuating that he wants him to get up. Michaels places his hands in his face to try and rub out the pain of the Facial as he places his elbows on the mat to try and push himself back to his feet. Caleb stands there, leg cocked and ready to go for a superkick of his own. Once David reaches his feet, he attempts his superkick, and it definitely connects…. Not with his target though. In the king of all clichés that will lead to the biggest game-changer in the match, the referee has been kicked in the face and knocked on his ass, not a clue of what is going on.

Ted Cedar: “Dear God almighty! That was a huge mistake on Caleb’s part! Now no one is up to maintain order in this match!”

Adam Dennis: “Two minutes. I give it two minutes before Smoke Xtreme is in the ring.”

Spires is wide-eyed as he looks down at the referee and thinks “Ohh shit..” knowing that he is now a target for anyone who wants to come down and attack him. If you aren’t good with hints, it means Smoke Xtreme. He turns around to try to check all of his surroundings, but didn’t count on Michaels being up and recovered. He also didn’t count on Michaels jumping through the air, starting with a headscissors and turning it into a DDT, spiking Caleb with the Déjà vu to take both of them to the mat and in an incapacitated position. The fans are going wild for a main event caliber match halfway up the card and begin a “This is awesome!” chant followed by 5 claps for the two soldiers downed on the mat, unmoving and competing in a physical match of a life time. But as you know, all good things must come to an end as all the cheers suddenly turn into boos. I’m going to give you one guess as to who jumped the barricade and is making his way to the ring. If you guessed Maestro Punk; well, you’re wrong. No my friends, it is actually Smoke Xtreme, coming down to continue his douchebaggery onto Spires as he has done the last two-three months. Nova stands by the ring, eyeing down the COO. But there is no use getting involved, seeing as her job could be on the line, and it is obvious who Smoke is after. He slides into the ring and stands straight up, eyeing both of the downed opponents, standing by and waiting for Caleb to get to his feet. Since Caleb was the one who received the DDT, he is not the first one to his feet. David gets up to his feet, shaky and drained of all vitality and he doesn’t even know Smoke is in the ring. He soon finds out though, as he turns around and catches a superkick known as the Smoke Ride that drops David to the mat and drops the jaw of every fan in attendance.

Adam Dennis: “What in the bloody hell? Things suddenly took a change for the weird.”

Ted Cedar: “I CAN’T BELIEVE IT! SMOKE JUST---“

Adam Dennis: “Hold your breath Cedar. They just read what happened literally 6 spaces above.”

The Showstealer lies on the mat unmoving and Smoke stands over him with a dead serious look on his face. The fans are breaking out into a chant of “Fuck you Smoke,” repeated over and over again and he doesn’t even bat an eye. Nova stands outside the ring with her mouth gaping open in utter shock and disbelief. Caleb rolls over to his stomach and sees Michaels out cold and Xtreme standing over him. The Elite One’s eyes get wider than Razor Xtreme’s butthole as he yells at Smoke, “What the hell are you doing?!” The COO doesn’t justify him with a response. Instead, he simply walks over to the ropes and goes out to the apron, dropping down and walking up the ramp to a parade of boos and a few fans throwing their wrappers and drink cups at him. The whole way up the ramp, he doesn’t make eye contact with anyone or even acknowledge anything until he has disappeared. Spires rests on his knees in the center of the ring, staring at the entrance ramp with a look of sincere shock on his face. He glances down at the defenseless David Michaels. He didn’t want this. He wanted to win with integrity and skill… But there is nothing he can do at this point as The Showstealer is an easy target. First thing is first. Spires bends down and shakes the ref, lifting him up and giving him a light tap to the face to try and get him back into the match. And now the last line of business. He limps over to Michaels and pulls him up by his head, David too woozy to have any clue of what is going on as he is hoisted to his feet. Spires lifts him on top of his shoulders and looks at the camera. The look on his face shows a man who is not happy with the situation but is going to do his job with no regrets as he throws Michaels off of his shoulders, spiking him on his head for a burning hammer and makes a quick cover with the hooked leg, waiting for the referee to crawl over and make the count.

1----2----3!

OOC: I planned on using JHalc instead of Smoke for this match… But then I saw Chilly’s ending and had no idea how to use JHalc anymore. Kinda sloppy at times, but hopefully it can contend with Chilly.
