| Take-Two announced this morning that Grand Theft Auto V generated more than $1 billion in retail sales during its first three days on sale. “We believe this marks the fastest that any entertainment property, including video games and feature films, has reached this significant milestone,” Take Two noted in its announcement.
"Grand Theft Auto is a cultural phenomenon and Rockstar Games continues to redefine what can be achieved in interactive entertainment," said Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick. "We are incredibly proud of the extraordinary critical and commercial response to Grand Theft Auto V."
Earlier this week, Rockstar announced that GTA 5 made $800 million in one day. Analysts previously estimated that the game would earn $1 billion in its first month, but it appears they underestimated just how excited people are to visit Los Santos |

| It's still very fun. I mean yeah it has tons of hype, but fun as hell. Better than Saints row 4 imo |

| I'd say it was overhyped but it's hella fun and I'd play all day if I ever got the chance. |

Considering SR4 is more of a joke than anything, that isn't exactly very hard. There hasn't been a good SR game since 2. |

| No doubt the GTA games are very fun, but I've always thought they've been over hyped to hell. The characters and story haven't been that exciting and there doesn't appear to be any connections between any of the games, with Rockstar saying the ones before IV were in an "alternate universe" or something...
I dunno', maybe I just like story driven games with way better character development. But no doubt they are fun and the freedom is something completely unrivalled. But I always wonder do people actually like these games for anything other than being a moron on them? xD |

| See, thats the thing. V actually references back to almost ALL the older games. So I think maybe its Rockstars way of apologising. I know they reverence IV. I've seen some refrences to III and San Andreas. And V has an amazing story. I actually had a feels moment in the middle of it |
