Jerod Barnez vs. Kanimaniac Empty
PostSubject: Re: Jerod Barnez vs. Kanimaniac   Jerod Barnez vs. Kanimaniac EmptySat Sep 21, 2013 6:08 pm

Up next we have an XWA veteran against a wrestling rookie. On one corner of the ring, Kanimaniac. Kanimaniac made his return to XWA television one week ago when he surprised the World and took on David Michaels in a losing effort, thanks to a distraction from JHalc on commentary. On the other side, Jerod Barnez. Jerod is the son of WWA Hall of Famer Thomas Barnez and made his in-ring debut last week at Endure, when he successfully defeated Minkaro. Momentum is surely on Jerod's side tonight, as he managed to pick up a huge win in his debut match whilst Kanimaniac suffered a loss in his return. Nevertheless, the experience factor is going to go to Kanimaniac, in addition to the speed factor, whilst Jerod claims the size factor. So many factors are going into this match, but in the end, it'll all come down simply to who wants it more. This is the first qualifying match for the Elimination Chamber at King of Xtreme, with Mack versus Razor Xtreme following later tonight. Whoever wins tonight has the huge opportunity of fighting for the World Heavyweight Championship. For Kanimaniac, it could be his second chance to become a World Champion in XWA, whilst Jerod will have his first shot at the gold so early in his wrestling career. The fans are surprisingly split down the middle for this contest, although a tad bit more are in support of Kanimaniac over the rookie. It's time to find out who will take home the victory and be the first person, aside from World Heavyweight Champion Hitman Alex, to qualify for the Elimination Chamber Match.

DING! DING! DING!

Following the sonance of the bell being rung thrice, the two men stare down one another from across the ring. Slowly, but steadily, Jerod makes his way towards Kanimaniac before extending his arm out. At first, Kanimaniac simply stares at it, but after a brief moment, he accepts the offer and the two men shake hands, much to the delight of the crowd. Following this, they begin circling one another. Shortly after, the two men lock up in the center of the ring with a Collar-and-Elbow Tie-Up. Jerod almost instantly transitions this into a Side Headlock, cranking on the head of his foe. Thinking quickly, Kanimaniac backs up to the ropes to gain enough leverage to pull his head free before pushing his opponent off of him. Jerod uses this momentum to run to the opposing set of ropes, rebounding off of them as Kanimaniac quickly lies down on the canvas, allowing Jerod to jump over him and continue running. Hurriedly, the masked man gets back to his feet as Jerod once again bounces off of the ropes. This time, as he returns to his foe, Kanimaniac looks to leap frog over Jerod, but the son of Thomas Barnez proves to be too tall as he catches Kanimaniac mid-air and slams him down viciously into the canvas with an unforgiving Spinebuster! Jerod lets out a light grin as he takes the early advantage before dropping to his knees and then hooking the leg of his adversary for a pin attempt. One! T—Early kickout to an early pin attempt!

Ted Cedar
"Well, Kanimaniac tried to leap frog over his opponent, but Jerod was just a bit too tall for that. Excellent reversal by the newcomer."

Adam Dennis
"He damn near broke Kanimaniac in half right there. I tell ya, Ted, this guy is no joke. Kanimaniac may think he has an easy win into the Chamber, but this dude can fight. He proved that against Minkaro last week."

Ted Cedar
"Honestly, I don't think he's taking Jerod lightly tonight, especially after that Spinebuster. Kanimaniac isn't the type to underestimate his opponents."

Jerod looks at the downed Kanimaniac as he walks around him, contemplating where he should go from here. With an idea coming to his head, Jerod bends over and grabs his opponent by the mask, whilst yanking him back to his feet. He applies a Front Chancery, wrapping Kanimaniac's arm around his neck and quickly flipping him back onto the canvas with a Snap Suplex that he transitions into a pin attempt. One! Tw—Early kickout! Jerod doesn't let the kick out bother him, as he was sure his adversary would kick out this early in the contest. He just wanted to make him use more energy kicking out. The son of Thomas Barnez drags his much smaller opponent over to the nearest corner of the ring and leans him back-first against it. Ryu tells Barnez to back off, but he ignores the referee for the time being, instead choosing to drill into Kanimaniac's mid-section with repeated Shoulder Thrusts until Ryu reaches a count of four, almost disqualifying the big man. He quickly backs away, putting both hands in the air to show that he's not touching his opponent. In a quick second, Jerod goes for a punch to Kanimaniac, but "The Dragon Tamer" side-steps it and now it is him that has his opposition backed into the corner. The audience cheers as Kanimaniac nails repeated punch after punch to the stomach of his second generation opponent, each punch as quick as the last. Kanimaniac takes a few steps back before running at his opponent, leaping into the air and landing a picture perfect Stinger Splash that causes Jerod to stumble out of the turnbuckle groggily. Quickly, the masked superstar ascends to the middle turnbuckle and waits for Jerod to turn around. Once he does, he leaps off in an attempt for a Crossbody. Showcasing his incredible strength, Barnez manages to catch Kanimaniac mid-air before tossing him backwards with a big Fallaway Slam! Kanimaniac's body bounces off of the canvas and rolls to the other side of the ring, as Jerod shakes off the effects of the Stinger Splash.

Ted Cedar
"Another great reversal there by Jerod Barnez, whom shows off his immense strength."

Adam Dennis
"Kanimaniac's only hope to beat this guy is to quicken the pace, do some of that aerial stuff he's known for. But he just tried it right there and it was put to a quick stop by Jerod."

Jerod waits for Kanimaniac to get back to a vertical base. Once he does, "The Descendant of a God" rushes at him, looking to decapitate him with a Clothesline. Kanimaniac ducks under this attempted move, however, and runs to the ropes. After rebounding off of them, he ducks a second Clothesline attempt, continuing to run. This time, he rebounds the ropes, but something else was waiting for him. Jerod grabs Kanimaniac under the armpits and launches him into the air, before connecting with a brilliant European Uppercut dubbed the Falcon Punch! Some audience members cheer from the maneuver, but most boo; Jerod not yet having won them over Kanimaniac. Regardless, the big man drops down to go for a cover. One! Two! Kickout just after two! Wasting little time, he goes to pick up Kanimaniac to his feet, but the smaller man begins to fight back with body shot after body shot. He manages to make it back to a perpendicular base whilst still fight off his opponent, now taking the punches to his head. After landing a few repeated punches, Kanimaniac goes for a Spinning Heel Kick attempt, it landing to perfection and knocking Jerod down. The audience cheers as Kanimaniac goes for the pin. One! Kickout almost instantly! Kanimaniac doesn't fret, instead beginning to clap in an attempt to get the audience clapping in rhythm. Naturally, it works, and the audience's clapping helps pump Kanimaniac up. He heads to the opposing side of the ring, crouching in the corner and perhaps looking to put this thing away early with his finishing Shining Wizard. The crowd continues to clap as Jerod makes his way back to his feet. Once he sees the opportunity, Kanimaniac runs at his opponent, but Barnez side-steps him and the English superstar goes knee-first into the middle turnbuckle! Slowly, he pulls himself out of the corner, favoring his knee in the process, only to be drilled with a Big Boot from Jerod that sends him tumbling through the ropes. Fortunately for Kanimaniac, he manages to land on the apron. Unfortunately for him, Jerod was aware of this and he gets on the apron behind his opponent. Applying a Waist Lock, Jerod has big plans. He pulls Kanimaniac backwards with a German Suplex off of the apron, sending him crashing head-first into the steel steps! Audience members cringe at the sight of this as Ryu begins a ten count.

Adam Dennis
"Sweet baby Jesus and mother Mary!"

Ted Cedar
"What a German Suplex by Jerod! Kanimaniac was sent crashing into the steel steps head first. I'd be surprised if he doesn't have a concussion after that!"

On the outside of the ring, Jerod isn't worried about the official's ten count; having plenty of time to get back in. He walks around Kanimaniac, looking at his downed adversary whilst his head fills with possible scenarios to go to from here. Eventually, a plan formulates in his mind as he picks the smaller man up and pulls him away from the steel steps, only to wrap his arms around his mid-section and run straight into the side of the ring, sending Kanimaniac back-first into the ring's apron! Following this, he grabs Kanimaniac by his head, pulls him over to the commentary table and launches him straight across it, sending him crashing into the commentators! The audience lets out a strongly mixed response to Kanimaniac being man-handled as he is. Realizing Ryu is starting to reach dangerous waters with his count, Jerod slides into the ring and back out of it, forcing him to break up the count. The newcomer certainly doesn't want his second victory in XWA to be via count-out. He heads back over to the commentary table, pushing people out of the way to get to Kanimaniac, whom he grabs by his hair and yanks back up to his feet. He lifts the English man onto his shoulder and carries him back to the ring, before sliding him in. Afterwards, the big man grabs the middle rope and pulls himself onto the apron. As he enters the squared circle, Kanimaniac slowly begins getting back to his feet, reaching all fours before Jerod drops a hard knee into the back of his head, keeping him in place. With Kanimaniac right where he wants him, down on the canvas, Jerod looks out at the crowd and lets out a monstrous scream akin to Roman Reigns, receiving a very mixed reaction. The cheers and jeers from the fans put a smirk on Jerod's face, as he's just happy to be receiving a reaction of any kind. Focusing back on the task at hand, he lifts Kanimaniac back up to his feet, only to slam him back down on the canvas with a Bodyslam, making sure to position his opponent's body just right. The big man then does something a bit surprising for a man of his stature; he begins ascending the nearest turnbuckle! The audience gets loud with cheers as they weren't expecting this. Upon reaching the middle turnbuckle, Jerod looks out at the crowd with a smile before leaping into the air and jumping onto the top-turnbuckle before jumping backwards and attempting a picture perfect Two-Step Moonsault! Well, it would've been picture perfect had Kanimaniac not rolled out of the way at the last second! "This Is Awesome" chants begin to be heard all throughout the arena, as the audience expresses their surprise at Jerod being able to do such a big aerial move, despite it not connecting.

Ted Cedar
"Jerod just took a page out of Christopher Daniels' book right there with that attempted double jump Moonsault. It didn't pay off, however."

Adam Dennis
"A guy that big doing something like that? Hell, I'm impressed, even if he did miss. Nice reflexes shown by Kanimaniac, though."

Kanimaniac gets back to his feet, as does Jerod, though he's a tad bit slower to get up after taking such a big fall. "The Dragon Tamer" immediately takes his adversary down with a Clothesline. Jerod is quick to get back to his feet, only to be taken down by a second Clothesline. This time he's slower to get up, allowing Kanimaniac more time to plan a stronger attack. As such, he goes for something bigger this time when Jerod gets up; a Superkick! Unfortunately for the masked superstar, Jerod was able to catch. He trips Kanimaniac, flipping him onto his stomach and applying his submission finisher, the Ankle Lock dubbed the Detroit Lock! Audience members again let out a very mixed reaction, as this one could be over any second now. Kanimaniac's screams of pain are almost drowned out by the loud audience, as he tries desperately to get to the bottom rope, but Jerod won't budge. Thinking quickly, Kanimaniac rolls onto his back and goes to kick Jerod off of him, successfully managing to knock the big man down, but not successfully managing to make him let go. Jerod gets back up to his feet, quickly, flipping Kanimaniac back onto his stomach and still keeping the Detroit Lock applied. Kanimaniac can only think of one other possible option at this point and so he goes with it, doing a front roll. The roll not only successfully causes Jerod to let go of Kanimaniac's ankle, but also causes him to go flipping through the ropes and to the outside of the ring! The audience cheers as Kanimaniac makes it back to his feet, with a bit of a limp. Seeing Jerod getting up slowly on the outside of the ring, he limps his way over to the closest corner before climbing to the very top turnbuckle. The man with a legendary status in XWA leaps off the top turnbuckle, diving out of the ring and front-flipping into a huge Dragonrana! The audience goes wild with cheers after the huge maneuver as Ryu starts a ten count again.

Ted Cedar
"Absolutely beautiful Dragonrana from the top turnbuckle to the outside of the ring by Kanimaniac!"

Adam Dennis
"Hey, I may not like this guy, but he's a former World Heavyweight Champion for a reason. He can pull off some pretty amazing stuff sometimes."

Kanimaniac slowly makes it back to his feet, still favoring his injured ankle. He takes a brief moment to slap hands with a few fans in the front row, while Jerod is still down. Noticing, out of the corner of his eye, Jerod getting back to his feet, Kanimaniac turns his focus back on him. He grabs Jerod by the head and trunks, tossing him back into the ring and sliding in after him. "The Dragon Tamer" waits for his opponent to start getting up and, when the timing is just right, he runs in and looks for a running variation of the Reverse STO which lands to perfection! Kanimaniac immediately goes for a cover. One! Two! Th—Kickout by Jerod! Desperation is beginning to be shown in the body language of Kanimaniac, whom slams his open palm off of the canvas numerous times, upset that he didn't get the pin there. The masked superstar decides it's time to up the ante as he drags Jerod closer to the corner of the ring and then begins ascending the turnbuckle. What he doesn't realize, whilst climbing with his back to the ring, is that Jerod is getting back to his feet. Upon reaching the very top of the turnbuckle, perhaps setting up for a Moonsault of some sort, Kanimaniac doesn't get the chance to do what he was intending on doing. Jerod quickly runs up the turnbuckle, wrapping both arms around the waist of his opponent from behind before pulling him backwards with a huge Avalanche German Suplex the flips Kanimaniac and sends him landing on his stomach in the center of the ring! The audience erupts in cheers at the big move.

Ted Cedar
"Avalanche German Suplex! Avalanche German Suplex! This may be it!"

Adam Dennis
"Hell of a move right there. All Jerod needs to do is get the cover and this one is over."

Both men are down right now. Kanimaniac because he just got hit with a wicked German Suplex and Jerod due to fatigue. Slowly, but surely, Jerod crawls his way over to his opponent before laying his arm across Kanimaniac's chest and going for the cover. One! Two! Thre—Kickout at the last moment possible! The audience cheers strongly for the kickout as Jerod can't believe it. He slowly pulls himself back to his feet and looks at Ryu as if to say "what the hell?" His anger begins to get the better of him as he quickly heads to the corner of the ring and, in one swift motion, tears the padding off of the top turnbuckle out of frustration. Not wanting the bare turnbuckle to be used, Ryu quickly grabs the padding and tries to put it back in place as Thomas focuses on Kanimaniac again. He goes to lift Kanimaniac back to his feet, when suddenly the smaller man pushes his bigger foe back a few inches. He then leaps back to his feet and shoots a green mist out of his mouth! The mist doesn't hit its target however, as Jerod ducks under it. Ryu turns around just in time to be shocked by the mist! Trying to capitalize, Barnez quickly grabs Kanimaniac by the throat, but the masked man kicks him in the shin, causing him to let go, before landing a low Dropkick to the leg of his adversary, causing him to fall to a kneeled position. Kanimaniac takes a few steps back to gain some room before running at Jerod, leaping into the air and striking him in the face with his knee to land his Shining Wizard finisher! Kanimaniac immediately goes for the cover following this, but the bell is rung before the official even counts it.

DING! DING! DING!

Confused, Kanimaniac lets go of Jerod and looks up at Ryu, whom he sees talking to Laura Watts.

Ted Cedar
"What just happened? Did Kanimaniac win?"

Adam Dennis
"He shouldn't have. Ryu didn't even count the pin!"

After Ryu finishes talking to Laura, she nods and begins to speak.

Laura Watts
"Ladies and gentlemen, here is your winner, by disqualification, and moving on to the Elimination Chamber Match at King of Xtreme, Jerod Barnez!"

Ted Cedar
"Wait, what?!"

Adam Dennis
"Well, Kanimaniac did blast the referee in the face with a green mist."

Ted Cedar
"Yeah, but that wasn't intentionally aimed at him."

Adam Dennis
"It doesn't matter, Ted. The mist is illegal. The fact that Kanimaniac even tried to use it should be enough for him to get disqualified."

As Barnez's theme song hits the PA System, Kanimaniac looks on in anger. Not that the anger can be seen beneath his mask, mind you, but it's there. Trust me. He gets in the face of Ryu, not saying a word, but simply staring the official down. Ryu quickly exits the ring to avoid further confrontation with Kanimaniac, and a potential ass whooping, as Jerod also slides out of the ring. He looks on, confused, until Ryu raises his hand. The audience jeers heavily at the decision, although Jerod still seems to have no clue what happened. The scene fades out to a commercial break with Kanimaniac last seen shaking his head in anger.

Jerod Barnez vs. Kanimaniac Empty
PostSubject: Re: Jerod Barnez vs. Kanimaniac   Jerod Barnez vs. Kanimaniac EmptySat Sep 21, 2013 8:54 pm

DING DING!

The bell rings, and we are set to see a qualifying match for the chamber at King of Xtreme. The imposing frame of Jerod Barnez walks towards Kanimaniac to square off. Giving up over half a foot in height, The Dragon Tamer stands shadowed by a colossus, and immediately, he begins to envision tactics for taking 'The Descendant of a God' down, without being overwhelmed and overpowered. Worse still, the surprising speed of his opponent has to be brought in to the equation. Strength and speed are often two very important factors in a match, and Kanimaniac can only hope to be superior in one respect, if he hopes not to get bulldozed by a Gore. Not to mention that if he happens to let his guard down just long enough for Barnez to catch him in a Detroit Lock, The Dragon Tamer can forget about trying to hit that Shining Wizard.

Barnez, on the other hand, looks to be very confident that he can deliver the goods, but has to factor in the fact that his opponent, former world champion and King of Xtreme, is not short on ring savvy. Simply put, a man can't overpower someone who he can't catch. And a man can't catch another who has systematically dissected him with tactical strikes and holds. The fans in the arena, feeling the high anticipation of what will be a great match, begin duelling chants. Unsurprisingly, there is a strong wave of support for XWA veteran, The Dragon Tamer, Kanimaniac. However, with a good performance today, Barnez can see to it that he will win the hearts and minds of not only the fans, but the management. All these thoughts running through the minds of the two competitors are fleeting, as after a short time, they slowly begin circling the ring. The Dragon Tamer begins to hop from foot-to-foot, as stony-faced as ever, but always thinking. Thinking and preparing to dodge out of the way of a strike or a freight train style rush.

The circle begins to get smaller and smaller, as both men gradually come to the centre of the ring. There's a moment of hesitation from both men, then suddenly, Kanimaniac snaps off a quick spinning back kick to the midsection, folding Barnez double and taking him by surprise. Another quick kick, this time a roundhouse to the knee, looks to attempt to ground the big man. Barnez's leg stays planted on the mat, although Barnez lets out a grunt of pain from the impact. This only encourages the former King of Xtreme to strike again with another snap roundhouse to the leg, this time causing Barnez to shift away from Kanimaniac, and respond with another grunt of pain. The Descendant of a God gets a little bit of distance between himself and The Dragon Tamer to stop the assault, but Kanimaniac doesn't let up, clipping the legs of Jerod with more left and right kicks, the intention perhaps being to give him something to think about throughout the match. Pick apart the legs, then Barnez can't charge for that Gore as well. That's the plan, at least.

Barnez manages to get some distance away from Kanimaniac and gets to the corner, followed by his cagey opponent, who is not about to let him get any time to recover. While he backs him in to the corner, Kanimaniac swings kicks right and left, tagging the legs and body of Barnez, each blow sending a pain through his larger adversary. That is, until Barnez manages to break through Kanimaniac's attack and lift Kanimaniac up into the air, catapulting him back a couple of feet with one hard toss. The Dragon Tamer manages to land on his feet (although almost losing his balance) and launches himself back at The Descendant of a God. This time, it's a flying back elbow, connecting with the jaw of Barnez and causing him to cover up his head, and allowing Kanimaniac to strike at Jerod with some quick knee strikes to the body and to the forearms that are currently protecting the 6 foot 6 grappler's face. Though he can't be sure whether he's wearing Barnez down or simply pissing him off, The Dragon Tamer relentlessly continues to deliver well placed strikes to the kidneys, the stomach, the inner thigh, the outside of the knee and anywhere else he can manage. The strikes come thick and fast, not allowing Barnez an opportunity to gather any more momentum, but in the process, gaining a caution from the referee to allow his opponent out of the corner. With nowhere to go, Barnez breaks his guard again and shoves The Dragon Tamer back once more, this time with more force, causing Kanimaniac to roll back and on to his feet. He's not clear yet though, as the former world champion leaps in to action again with a flying forearm, catching the jaw of Jerod Barnez again, and once again sending him to the corner.

The fans chant Kanimaniac's name as he continues his systematic attack on the larger man, seeing The Dragon Tamer throw repeated forearm strikes to the face of Barnez. The referee has to step in again, warning Kanimaniac that he must allow his opponent the chance to fight in the centre of the ring. The referee begins to count, as The Dragon Tamer desperately tries to keep his attack up on his opponent. Eventually, though, Kanimaniac acknowledges the referee and breaks off his attack, only to dart across the ring to the ropes. Barnez steps out of the corner, holding his jaw from the quick shots in the corner, only to find his opponent running towards him with a head of steam and connecting with a big front dropkick to Barnez. Staggering, but not losing his feet, the imposing frame of Jerod Barnez bounces off the ropes slightly from the attack, then comes to rest as Barnez hooks his arm around the top rope to maintain his balance. This provides adequate time for Kanimaniac to get back to his feet and sprint across the ring again, looking to take advantage of Barnez's positioning. Jerod manages to get his bearings back though, and raises a foot to a returning Kanimaniac. However, Kanimaniac just say manages to slide under the foot and to the outside of the ring, dodging the contact that could have very well loosened a few teeth. While on the outside, The Dragon Tamer takes advantage of his position and hooks his hands around Barnez's feet, tripping him up and pulling him out of the ring. Barnez lands feet first on the outside, and Kanimaniac runs to the ring steps. The masked man jumps to the top of the ring steps, and then flips back on to a staggered Barnez, taking him down with a moonsault, managing to knock his larger opponent down, causing the fans to cheer at the showing of athleticism from the Englishman. Jerod Barnez holds his chest from the impact while he tries to snap out of his dazzled state, the quick offence from The Dragon Tamer proving to be a surprise to him. However, Kanimaniac will not give him enough time to gather his thoughts, as he grabs Barnez by the head and quickly rolls him in to the ring.

Jerod ultimately gets to his knee, still a little bit breathless from the impact on the outside, and Kanimaniac is close behind. Just as Kanimaniac runs towards Barnez again, The Descendant of a God turns around with a wild lariat attempt, which misses his opponent by a fraction. Instead of having his head taken off, Kanimaniac instead rolls under the strike, then gets back to his feet and continues his run to the ropes. He launches himself towards the ropes, then rotates back to hit Barnez with a springboard crossbody. However, Barnez rolls through with the attack this time, getting to his feet and lifting Kanimaniac off the floor. In one swift motion, Barnez throws Kanimaniac up over his head in a fallaway slam, the motion between Barnez rolling back with the crossbody and throwing The Dragon Tamer being beautifully seamless and fluid, causing the XWA fans to cheer and applaud the tremendous showing of strength and prowess from The Descendant of a God. The Dragon Tamer sails through the air and lands back first on the mat, sending a dull thud and tiny bolts of electricity through his body. As he lands, the wind rushes from his lungs, evidenced by an “OOF!” as he makes contact with the floor. Barnez gets to his feet, still feeling the effects from the all out assault he endured from Kanimaniac, but nevertheless shakes himself off and approaches The Dragon Tamer, who is now on his knees, holding his ribs and gasping a little. Just as Barnez approaches Kanimaniac, he is surprised by a quick strike to the gut by his kneeling opponent, who tries to stop any semblance of momentum from Barnez. The blow rocks Jerod, but The Dragon Tamer does not have enough momentum to get a good shot in, which means Barnez can reply with a kick to the chest of Kanimaniac. This allows Barnez to lift Kanimaniac up and then toss him with a big hip toss, bringing The Dragon Tamer off his knees, through the air, then on to his back in an impressive showing of strength from the near 300 pound Barnez.

The Dragon Tamer once again lands on his back, but hardly has any time to react, because Barnez drops a big elbow right on to his sternum, folding The Dragon Tamer almost in two, as Kanimaniac's legs kick up from the blunt impact to his midsection. Jerod stands up one more time and drops another hard elbow drop, then covers Kanimaniac, not letting him draw in a breath.

Kanimaniac kicks out.

The Dragon Tamer sits up and drinks in a deep breath, eager to fill his previously empty lungs. Though, Barnez has other things on his mind. He positions himself behind his seated opponent and reaches over him to deliver multiple hard forearms to the chest of Kanimaniac, beating away at him ruthlessly. He then hoists his masked opponent up with his hands under the chin of The Dragon Tamer, then moves him over to the ropes. Barnez then shoves Kanimaniac in to the ropes so he rebounds off them, then sticks his opponent with a knee to the back, which sends his opponent into the ropes again. Jerod pushes Kanimaniac again, this time hitting a forearm strike to the back, causing The Dragon Tamer to grunt in pain and hang on the ropes. Satisfied with his work, Barnez then lifts Kanimaniac up from the ropes and drops him with a back suplex, lifting The Dragon Tamer high and dropping him at a near vertical angle on to the back of his neck and his shoulders, which causes Kanimaniac to ball up and hold his neck whilst kicking his legs, the tingle of electric pain lcking through his body. Jerod then covers Kanimaniac again.

Kanimaniac kicks out.

The crowd starts to cheer, some in favour of Kanimaniac, some in favour of Barnez. In the early going, these two men have shown that they are willing to go tooth and nail to qualify for that Elimination Chamber match...in which they will fight tooth and nail for the XWA Championship. A championship that will boost Jerod Barnez's career significantly, and will also place Kanimaniac at the top of the pile again, where he was some 6 months ago. Barnez lifts The Dragon Tamer up once again, clubbing at his back as he does, before backing him off into the ropes again. This time, Barnez whips Kanimaniac across the ring, then quickly gets to the centre to await his opponent. As Kanimaniac makes his way back to Barnez, he turns his back to Barnez and kicks out his legs so he can loop them under Barnez's arms. Jerod catches him before he can turn the move into a roll up, however, and in an impressive showing of skill, holds him just above the mat for a couple of seconds, completely stopping Kanimaniac's momentum. The Descendant of a God then lifts The Dragon Tamer up and drops him with a tremendous wheelbarrow suplex, folding Kanimaniac up like a cheap lawn chair. The Dragon Tamer simply lands in a heap, then flops over on to his side and holds his lower neck. Jerod can feel that he is in charge of the match right now, and all he needs to do is continue to overpower his masked opponent, then he can go on to the chamber. As Jerod feels his momentum increasing, he looks to the fans for support who, after seeing his impressive feat of strength, are happy to offer it. He poses for the crowd for a brief moment, soaking in the cheers, while his opponent gets to his feet, still holding his neck. Noticing him out of the corner of his eye, Barnez then begins to measure up Kanimaniac, perhaps looking for some sort of running attack. Jerod stalks Kanimaniac for a moment, then charges at him with uncanny speed for someone that size. The Dragon Tamer looks up at his aggressor, then quickly has to leapfrog a devastating Gore attempt, which sends Barnez to the turnbuckle with just enough ring presence to hold on to the ropes and avoid smashing his face into the turnbuckles. Or even worse, the ring post.

Barnez snaps back to see Kanimaniac not quite facing him. Jumping at another chance, Barnez charges at The Dragon Tamer again, but this time has Kanimaniac roll backwards over Jerod and land on his feet. Jerod drops a knee to stop himself, skidding on the mat slightly. While he has his hands on the mat to slow his momentum, he looks up at his opponent, who is now charging at him. The Dragon Tamer looks to be going for a Shining Wizard, but just as he gets within striking distance, Barnez launches him into the turnbuckles behind him, forcing Kanimaniac to leapfrog him again. The Dragon Tamer flies through the air into the turnbuckles, and just say manages to cling on to them. Barnez is just about to get up to his feet, when suddenly Kanimaniac jumps from the ropes, turning his body, and connecting with a springboard bulldog from the corner on to his crouched opponent. The fans are then suddenly sent into a frenzy, as Kanimaniac attempts to lock Barnez into a crossface, straight after the bulldog, not letting Barnez react at all. The Dragon Tamer hooks the arm of Jerod, who has just now lifted his head from the bulldog and is sporting a pain filled grimmace. That look is quickly replaced by that of surprise, as he feels Kanimaniac's hands attempt to cross over his face. Barnez, on pure instinct, puts his arm up between his face and Kanimaniac's right forearm, blocking the attempt, all the while trying to shake off the bulldog he just received. Through slightly blurry eyes, he pushes the two hands away and manages to roll himself over in an attempt to get The Dragon Tamer off his arm. He manages to get his opponent on to his back, but Kanimaniac doesn't let go, but instead rearranges his legs and hooks the arm of Jerod into a tight scissored armbar, trying to wrench at the elbow of his 6 foot 6, near 300 pound adversary. Having shaken off the initial impact of the bulldog, Barnez now turns his attention to pushing against Kanimaniac's legs in an attempt to dislodge his arm from the vice like grip that the Englishman has locked him in. This proves to be largely futile, though, as all it does is encourage Kanimaniac to bind around the arm tighter, like a spider monkey clinging on to a branch of a tree.

Barnez groans under the strain of the hold, feeling his tendons and muscles strain under the pressure being exerted on him by The Dragon Tamer. The referee checks on the grounded Barnez, asking him if he wants to quit. Barnez merely growls back with a 'no' as he writhes under the pressure of the hold. Kanimaniac, not content with just the hold, begins to elbow at the shoulder of Barnez ruthlessly, trying to wear down the arm even more and perhaps take out a lot of the power moves in his opponent's arsenal. Through the sharp jabs at the tissue of his shoulder, Barnez battles on to get some ground on Kanimaniac. He slowly but surely gets to his knees, and stacks The Dragon Tamer up on his shoulders.

No.

Jerod isn't going for the pin. With Kanimaniac still hanging on, Jerod gets on to his feet, then slowly begins to raise The Dragon tamer up from the mat. Kanimaniac shakes his head in disbelief of the immense strength exhibited by Barnez, and is now sitting in his shoulder. The Dragon Tamer releases the hold, but as he tries to drop to the mat, Jerod shifts him into a wonderful Northern lights suplex, flipping Kanimaniac on to his shoulder, then slamming him in one fell swoop! Barnez then completes the bridge and goes for the pin attempt.

Kanimaniac gets a shoulder up, and Jerod releases the bridge.

Holding his arm, Barnez gets back to his feet. Half fatigue, half wear and tear from the hold he was just locked in, his arm begins to ache. A nagging, sore ache that causes him to shake his arm and rub it in an attempt to lessen the pain. Hoisting 220lbs of dead weight above his head may have caused more damage than he had anticipated it would. He rolls his shoulder out, massaging his pectoral muscle and grimacing, as Kanimaniac groggily moves around on the mat. Jerod takes a moment to acknowledge the round of applause that the fans are giving him from another impressive showing. Not only lifting Kanimaniac up while in the scissored armbar, but the beautiful and innovative counter in mid air. The Dragon Tamer looks back as he gets to a knee, checking to see where his opponent isas he nurses his wounds. The look in his eyes gives away that he was even quite impressed by that move. Nevertheless, Kanimaniac needs to refocus and calm the pain in his back from the Northern Lights suplex. He pulls himself up at the ropes, as Barnez approaches him. The Dragon Tamer stands, but only receives a quick jab for his efforts, rocking his head. Jerod, still working out the knots in his arm, is now on the attack again. He pushes Kanimaniac's head back with one hand, then follows up with a quick elbow with the same arm, snapping his head back again. The masked man holds his jaw after the blunt strike, but doesn't get much time to recover, as Barnez once again pulls him around. Shifting him to the middle of the ring, Barnez scoops The Dragon Tamer up under his arm and then drops him with a wicked pendulum backbreaker, almost snapping the spine of Kanimaniac, who is now, once again, on the mat holding his back. The camera catches a glimpse of Kanimaniac's eyes. Well, it would have, had they not been clamped shut in a visage of excrutiating pain, which is now throbbing and pulsing in his back, courtesy of the knee of Barnez.

Pleased with his work, Barnez now looks over to the corner of the ring, eyeing up the top rope. The crowd begin to murmur in anticipation, wondering if they are about to see the Two-Step Moonsault. The Descendant of a God then pushes himself up to his feet, looks back at Kanimaniac, then out to the fans. They start to chant Barnez's name, to encourage him to snap off the moonsault. Jerod is happy to comply with this, as he gets to the ropes and grabs the top one. Hoping that his arm will hold out, he springs to the second rope. Not as sprightly as normal, but that can be expected from his current condition. The second spring on the ropes is interrupted, however. Instead of flipping back to the mat, Jerod takes a tumble to the outside of the ring, colliding with the railing. Behind him, a war wounded Kanimaniac, who has just pushed him from the tp rope in order to stop the moonsault. The fans in the arena begin to chant 'holy shit' after seeing the massive man glide out of the ring and almost collapse the guard rail. The Dragon Tamer looks out at Barnez, almost a little surprised that he fell out of the ring rather than on to the top turnbuckle. But nevertheless, Kanimaniac has stopped the moonsault, and perhaps saved the match for himself in the process. Now, however, it's his turn to do some high flying. Watching Barnez as he writhes on the floor in immense pain, Kanimaniac knows he has plenty of time to ascend the top rope, especially since the referee has gone out to check on the fallen Descendant of a God. Eventually, the referee rolls back in to the ring, establishing that Barnez can continue, then begins to count.

1!

Barnez clutches his chest as he pulls himself up with the railings, perhaps knocked silly by the impact as well. It's mildlyuncomfortable to breathe, and he's not sure, but he may have bust his lip. The Dragon Tamer on the inside slowly starts to climb the rope, still holding his back. He never takes his eyes off Jerod while he steops on those ropes, even as the crowd begins to cheer louder and louder.

2! The referee warns Kanimaniac about climbing the ropes.

The Dragon Tamer pays no attention, though. Spurred by adrenaline and the will to feel that rush as he flies through the air, Kanimaniac powers through the pain in his back and climbs to the second rope. Barnez is now getting his head back together, and touches his lip to confirm that he has indeed busted it open. He takes a moment to rest against the barricade, still not entirely easy on his feet.

3!

Kanimaniac has now reached the top rope and is standing there, looking out over the crowd. They begin to chant his name loudly, and it seems to lull him into a trance like state. For now, the pain has faded. All that he feels is that in a few seconds, he's going to take Barnez down. Barnez, unsuspecting of this, has just managed to turn around.

4!

The Dragon Tamer takes flight as a collective gasp escapes from the crowd. He spins through the air and lands on Jerod Barnez with a beautiful shooting star press! Both men fall into the guard rail, and it gives way! Barnez and Kanimaniac tumble helplessly, creating a strewn wreckage of metal and plastic as the railing stands powerless against their collective weight. The crowd around them explodes in cheers and more chants, and even the referee stands on in shock as both men fall on to the cold, hard ground behind the railing, not moving.

A few fans take the opportunity to touch both men before they are ushered away by security guards. It appears that Kanimaniac managed to tweak his knee on the landing, and is now screaming into the concrete, clutching at his kneepad, while Barnez simply lies in the midst of the railing, motionless, but breathing heavily. The referee rushes over to the two men to check on their condition. Barnez coughs repeatedly, holding his back, and moving to show a slight cut from a piece of metal that jutted through the barrier when it crumpled. A superficial wound, but still something to draw concern from the referee. Barnez slumps to the side, then gives a thousand yard stare as he suffers through the throb of pain in his back. The referee then moves over to check on Kanimaniac, who has now ripped off his knee pad and unfastened his boot, all the while in tremendous pain from both the impact and the landing. The referee checks with Kanimaniac, who insists that he can continue. A few tense moments pass, and Barnez has began to crawl away from the wreckage and to the apron. He pulls himself up, grunting as he does, then turns back to see Kanimaniac and the referee. The referee throws up an X to the backstage area, which seems to enrage The Dragon Tamer. He grabs the referee and yells 'NO!', but the referee won't have any of it. Jerod makes his way over to inspect the scene, but is pushed back by the referee, who states that the match will have to stop because of Kanimaniac's injury. A couple of medical assistants rush down to help, which prompts Barnez to roll back in to the ring and recuperate some more.

The Descendant of a God looks out into the fans, who are booing the decision of the referee, which Jerod sort of agrees with. He certainly didn't see the match ending this way. He watches as Kanimaniac is helped up by the two medical officials, under protest, of course. They help him to hobble past the ring, as the fans begin chanting for him. He struggles slightly, looking around at them, then over to Barnez in the ring, who merely rests against the ropes closest to him. The Dragon Tamer stops for a moment, then suddenly pushes the two medical staff out of the way and hops to the ring apron. The referee tries to reason with him, but Kanimaniac just ignores him and rolls into the ring, ready to continue. Barnez looks on, unsure what to make of the situation. On one hand, he can't possibly wrestle a man with an injured knee, who will certainly run the risk of further damage. That, and he'll already win the match due to Kanimaniac being unfit to continue. On the other, if Kanimaniac isn't happy with ending the match like this, why should he be?

The wounded Dragon Tamer hobbles over to a conflicted Barnez, who puts his hands up half way as if to say he doesn't want to hurt the knee any more. Apparently, that wasn't the answer Kanimaniac was looking for, as he swipes at Barnez's face with a right hand slap, sending a gunshot echo through the arena. Jerod looks away, with rage boiling up inside of him at the slap, and Kanimaniac says:

“You're going to have to put me down to win this.”

Fair enough.

Barnez lifts Kanimaniac up on to his shoulder, and in a swift movement, he herds him into a corner and begins to hammer away with right hands, punishing his opponent like he was punished before. Barnez ruthlessly pounds away at Kanimaniac, with his opponent just covering up and trying to absorb the blows. Eventually, Barnez pulls Kanimaniac out of the corner and takes him down with a wicked belly-to-belly suplex, almost forgetting about the pain in his back until he lands. Barnez merely grimaces once, but pushes on to move over to Kanimaniac for the pin. The referee gets in to position to count.

Kick out from Kanimaniac.

The Descendant of a God doesn't eve register the near fall, as he is quickly back on the attack, picking The Dragon Tamer up and dropping him with a vicious shin breaker. Kanimaniac howls in pain after that one, pushing himself away frantically and clutching the injured leg. Jerod has no sympathy for Kanimaniac, though. Instead, he pulls the injured leg of Kanimaniac until he is back in the middle of the ring. The bloody lip of Barnez has now tinged his beard with a little red, and is swelling up. It's doubtful that Barnez can even feel it anyway, the focus on his face very apparent. He grabs the leg and slams it down into the mat, almost sending Kanimaniac into a fit from the pain. The Dragon Tamer lets out a whimper from the jolt of pain that has shot through his knee like a bullet. Barnez isn't done yet though. He hooks the leg under his arm, then begins to tug it sharply, continuing the pain of his opponent. Eventually, Barnez hooks the leg up again and turns Kanimaniac over into a half Boston crab, torquing the knee of his wounded adversary, who lets out a scream of pain. The normally easy going Jerod Barnez has unleashed a brutal streak after Kanimaniac slapped him to get him to fight. And now, Kanimaniac is reaping what he has sown, because he may be moments away from losing the match.

The Dragon Tamer paws at the mat, trying to get to the ropes, but with every pull, he is subjected to more and more pain in his knee, as the relentless and focused Jerod Barnez is clinging on to the leg and wrenching it like it owes him money. The referee checks on Kanimaniac, who is visibly distressed from the hold, and can't help but choke out curses through his teeth at the immense pain in his leg. He looks to the rope, which at this point might as well be in China, because there's no way that he can reach for it in his condition. Nevertheless, he pushes himself up, still grimacing with pain from the hold, and starts to slowly and sporadically pull himself closer and closer to the ropes. With every inch comes a flash of pain, which blights the efforts of Kanimaniac. But the thought of tapping out keeps him going with every reach. Perhaps too stubborn for his won good, Kanimaniac will not submit. Not now. Not when there is so much on the line. His shot at redemption...

Kanimaniac pushes himself up with his arms and begins to gingerly manoeuvre himself on to his shoulder. He shifts himself inch by inch, still scowling in pain, but determined to break free. Barnez clings on to the hold, but he feels himself losing grip as Kanimaniac tries to wriggle himself free. Instead of allowing that to happen, Barnez stands up as tall as he can, holding Kanimaniac's knee, and dangles him in the half crab, adding extra elevation and reducing Kanimaniac's opportunity to get himself out. Now, Kanimaniac is dangling by his leg, as well as having it wrenched, courtesy of his taller opponent. The referee checks on Kanimaniac, who is just barely touching the mat, but outright refuses to give up. Jerod begins to shake the leg a little, prompting an agonised scream from Kanimaniac. The referee asks The Dragon Tamer again if he wants to quit, and for the first time, his hand begins to raise from the mat. Kanimaniac lowers his head and starts to hover his hand over the canvas, seemingly close to submitting.

Just as Kanimaniac's hand begins to drop, his free leg swings wildly, connecting with the face of Barnez! Jerod's head snaps back, and he gazes out groggily, dazed by the kick. Kanimaniac swings again, though not as forcefully at the last one, as the exertion of swinging his leg whilst upside down and having his knee racked is significant. Finally, giving all the energy he can afford, Kanimaniac kicks Barnez in the face again, this time freeing himself from the torturous hold and falling to the mat, as Jerod staggers forward, holding his face and head. The Dragon Tamer pulls himself to the ropes as quick as he can, desperate to get up to his feet. Just then, a very groggy Barnez falls to the ropes on the other side of the ring, dangling over them like a drunk man. His cheeks puff out with every breath he exhales, and his eyes are a little bit glossy and far gone. Still, he pushes himself up, and turns to see his wounded opponent. Without thinking, Barnez launches himself at Kanimaniac, looking for the Gore that will surely hit it's mark this time. The pain stricken Kanimaniac opens his eyes just long enough to see this wall of humanity charging at him, and makes the sudden decision to hop up with his good leg and deliver a truly brutal Shining Wizard with his bad knee, making Barnez drop like a sack of potatoes! The crowd explode at the sheer brutal impact of the move, which even takes Kanimaniac down to the floor in pain. The Dragon Tamer pounds the mat in pain and frustration, due to the throb of his knee from connecting with Jerod's face.

The Descendant of a God is out of it. He's lying, spread eagled, but Kanimaniac just can't get to him. Instead, Kanimaniac is clutching his knee, after having collapsed a couple of feet away from Barnez. Looking back to his downed opponent, The Dragon Tamer knows that it's now or never. He pulls himself along with one arm, while his other arm holds his knee, and gets within reaching distance of Barnez.

He pulls himself further and further, until he can throw the arm over the chest of Barnez.

3NO!

Barnez kicks out! The crowd can't quite believe it. Barnez took a jaw shattering Shining Wizard, but he kicked out. Surely, the time Kanimaniac took to cover would have been a factor, but on this occasion, Barnez kicks out of the Shining Wizard. Kanimaniac looks down at his opponent, frustrated. He then pushes himself away to tend to his leg once more. At this point, it is completely useless. Kanimaniac gets to his feet to attempt to walk it off a little bit, still in tremendous pain from-

WAIT!

WAIT!

Barnez picks the ankle. Barnez has Kanimaniac's leg in his grasp! He's looking to lock in the Detroit Lock, despite almost having his face imploded from a Shining Wizard! On sheer impulse, Barnez clutches the ankle and pulls Kanimaniac towards him. Kanimaniac striggles against Barnez, trying to escape, but he can't pull hard enough with that leg. Barnez is shifting his body to grapevine the leg! This could be all over.

If Kanimaniac falls, he is done. He will fall into the Detroit Lock, and that's it. And he knows it. The look on his face as he tries to escape shows it all. The wild eyes, trying to fight through blinding pain. The fingers digging in to the mat to escape. The pounding hands against the mat as he scurries for the ropes. Eventually, Barnez gets to his feet and attempts to lock the hold in, but Kanimaniac turns on to his back, kicking furiously in an attempt to escape. Jerod takes a couple stiff boots to the chest, but still doesn't let go. He's trying to turn Kanimaniac on to his stomach to lock in the hold, and Kanimaniac is doing everything he damn well can to escape from it! Frantically pushing and kicking, then eventually kicking at the legs of Barnez to get him to drop to the floor. As Barnez drops to a knee, he is greeted by a two footed kick to the head. The Dragon Tamer has gotten free. Siezing the opportunity, Kanimaniac gets back to his feet and looks for the Shining Wizard again.

BUT NO! Barnez blocks the leg, and again looks to lock in the ankle lock! The fans are losing their minds over how close this is to being over. Kanimaniac almost hitting another Shining Wizard, and Barnez being close to making Kanimaniac submit to the Detroit Lock! We may see the former very soon, as Barnez is now back up to his feet and has The Dragon Tamer on his stomach! Barnez locks the ankle in, pulling the knee joint of Kanimaniac! This is it.

Kanimaniac has nowhere to go as Barnez looks to drop down into the grapevine. But suddenly, The Dragon Tamer rolls forward, sending Barnez over on to his belly. Now Kanimaniac has pounced on barnez and is trying to lock in the Dragon Tamer clutch! Kanimaniac wraps his legs around the midsection of Barnez and hooks his head in. The former King of Xtreme is looking to choke out Barnez and go on to the chamber! But suddenly, Kanimaniac cries out in pain.

As Barnez rolls on to his back, he shows that he has Kanimaniac locked in the Detroit Lock as he's in the Dragon Tamer. The bad leg is being pulled up from the grapevine and Barnez is bending and wrenching the ankle in unnatural ways! Who's going to tap? Barnez is still furiously twisting the ankle, as Kanimaniac tries his best to maintain the hold!

Kanimaniac shakes his head furiously, biting his lip to ignore the pain. Barnez is trying to use the leg of Kanimaniac as a distraction to free him from the Dragon Tamer. Both men are struggling and screaming through gritted teeth. The referee checks on Kanimaniac, who barks out an assertive 'NO!'

The referee checks Barnez.

“Do you submit?”

“Jerod, do you submit.”

“...gah...N...n”

Barnez's hand furiously drops to his side! He's tapping out! The referee calls for the bell!

DING DING DING!

Kanimaniac wins! The exhausted and wounded Kanimaniac releases the Dragon Tamer, then immediately clutches his leg. You've got to think that he was seconds from tapping, but eventually, he managed to outlast a very game and resilient Jerod Barnez. In the end, it came down to Barnez having to give up, or risk getting choked out from the Dragon Tamer. Better to submit after an outstanding effort than to wake up and discover you lost.

The Dragon Tamer looks over to Barnez, who is clutching his neck. He slowly sits up, still racked with pain, and pushes himself away from his fallen opponent. Tonight, The Dragon Tamer has tamed not a dragon, but a Descendant of a God.
