According to the most recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter, while the WWE has explicitly banned the use of HGH (human growth hormone), most organizations don’t test for it because it’s impossible to track via standard urine tests. Not only are HGH tests expensive, but in the past they weren’t always reliable, and unless the technology has drastically improved you have to catch the user soon after administering an injection.
This became a topic of discussion when UFC fighter Cung Le tested positive after his recent fight with Michael Bisping. In sports HGH is most commonly combined with other substances to boost muscle growth and overall physique.
HGH is currently listed in section 4, sub-section B of the WWE Substance Abuse and Drug Testing Policy as a prohibited drug.
