Sports Entertainment vs. Pro Wrestling Part 2 Empty
PostSubject: Sports Entertainment vs. Pro Wrestling Part 2   Sports Entertainment vs. Pro Wrestling Part 2 EmptyTue Aug 20, 2013 10:15 pm

Here's a post from my blog.

Some fans are having a hard time seeing Randy Orton and Triple H and friends work together after feuding with each other for years. Triple H and Orton hated each others guts for years but they're best friends again. Question is why? Triple H didn't want Daniel Bryan as WWE Champion. Why? Well if anyone from WWE creative see this steal this from me. Not that anyone from WWE is likely to see anything I type but whatever.

Remember the hype to SummerSlam's main event. Daniel Bryan called John Cena a parody of wrestling. What Daniel Bryan was doing was talking down to and taking a poop on sports entertainment. And who is the biggest sports entertainment company out there? That's right WWE. And who is set to take over WWE? That's right Triple H.

Daniel Bryan was talking down to the empire that Triple H was about to take over. Can you imagine The WWE Champion pooping all over the product WWE provides to its fans? You can't have that.

And why did nobody help Daniel Bryan when he was being attacked by The Shield despite several member of the roster standing by were feuding with them? Well The Shield was protecting sports entertainment. In the ring were the owners and champion of sports entertainment.

Over the weeks you can have Triple H talk down to where Daniel Bryan came from. The dirty bingo halls and high school gyms. How dare this bingo hall wrestler talk down to the product WWE provides to its loyal fan base. Triple H has ruled sports entertainment for years and this indy guy comes and trash talks it and goes onto win the biggest title in sports entertainment. So when the opportunity came to put him in his place Triple H did. Triple H will side with The Devil himself, a man who attacked his wife, who punted his step dad, who he hated for years so save his empire from a man who trash talks it.

Its obvious why Randy Orton would want in on this. Guy's a snake in the grass. They call him The Viper after all. He saw his chance. John Cena was injured and wrestling Daniel Bryan so Cena was going to loose. This guy is talking down to WWE's bread and butter so maybe he talks to Triple H about how Daniel Bryan is such a swine for saying such things and making WWE look bad and they come up with a scheme to take the bet off him and embarrass him.

So why did nobody want to help poor Daniel Bryan. Well he talked down to John Cena. Bryan said Cena was a parody of wrestling. Well Cena defeated Ryback, Mark Henry, Big Show and many of the other guys watching from the ramp. According to Daniel Bryan they got beat by a parody of wrestling so they are beyond a joke!

So why does Rob Van Dam, Big Show, Dolph Ziggler and Mark Henry who didn't care to help out Daniel Bryan end up joining forces with him? Well Rob Van Dam came from a bingo hall promotion so that could play into it. Plus Vince, Stephanie and Hunter are really fired up and are on a crusade to destroy anyone who disagrees with anything they're doing. Not just fire you. Break you so that you won't be able to go back to the bingo halls and high school and talk smack about the greatest promotion to ever exist. The babyfaces will get fed up with their ego trip and say enough's enough and join Daniel Bryan.

I'd love it if WWE took it this direction and I feel that they could make money. If you can fool us into thinking there's some real life heat or that you can suspend our disbelief you'll have us eating out of your hands like we did after CM Punk's pipe bomb.

It could still be great if they do something different of course. I'm just throwing my idea out there. Knowing WWE they're going to mess it up like they did with Punk. I have little faith in them. But who knows I could be wrong. I'm still looking forward to whatever they're going to do with Bryan Danielson. Lets just hope it's for the best.

I think nowadays a lot of WWE's wrestlers are getting more skilled in-ring and less skilled at overall entertainment.

I think WWE is going down the Mick Foley 2.0 type storyline. D-Bryan in the Mick Foley role, being a guy who doesn't fit the ideal person of being the face of the company

Its the Austin 2.0 storyline. Vince doesnt want him as champion, but they tried to paint him in the corporate image.

The Foley thing, he was supposed to be Vince's guy until the screwjob with Rocky.

Yes I know the Austin thing, But the mick thing was just more than he being the Vince guy and then getting stabbed in the back. He didn't fit the ideal of a champion. He was fat, he didn't look handsome, didn't dress the right, and he had that beard. Where as the Rock was handsome and in great shape, dressed like a champion.

It's a blend of both storylines really.

exactly. No matter what anyone said, pro Wrestling is about Entertainment. Sometimes in ring isn't just enough.

Tell Vince McMahon he runs a 'restling promotion and he'll tell you you're wrong. What Vince does is sports entertainment.

We all know that sports entertainment is pro wrestling but for years you couldn't tell that to someone in WWE. Hell I remember reading a copy of WWE Magazine and it had some fan's bill of rights deal. And it said that we shouldn't confuse WWE with armature wrestling. No WWE is "pro grappling." Pay per view companies couldn't call Wrestlemania a wrestling event!

Maybe now that's changing but I doubt Vince is embracing the fact he's a wrestling promoter now. Maybe trying to do films and shit just lost him too much money.

Vince can call his wrestlers Superstars, he can call his wrestling Sports entertainment all he wants. It's their branded term for wrestler and wrestling. like the Lakers calling their basketball players Lakers. At the end of the day Kobe is just as much of a basketball player as...some random dude in the D-League.

So I am not really behind the whole Sports Entertainer vs Wrestler thing. It's the same damn thing. Cena and Orton are wrestlers just like CM Punk and Daniel Bryan are wrestlers, Ryback is a wrestler just like Kevin Steen is a Wrestler, Ken Anderson is a wrestler just like mike quackenbush is a wrestler.
Some wrestlers have different types of style (tech, Brawler, Powerhouse), some have a bigger move set...but Khali is a wrestler just like...every wrestler ever.
So when Daniel Bryan or CM Punk cause he does this too, say "I am Wrestler! I am not a Sports Entertainer!" It's like Kobe going out there and saying "I am Basketball Player, not a Laker!" It just sounds silly.

It just sounds silly? Well I don't know about you but it sounded like Bryan's message to WWE sounded like resonated with the crowd the last week.

And saying this Mankind 2.0 doesn't really explain why two guys who hated each other's guts, Triple H and Orton, would suddenly find themselves working together. Or why no one on the roster really cared to help Bryan when he's being beaten up the The Shield. If it was not Randy Orton then you can say "oh yeah this is just Mankind 2.0." But we haven't been given an explanation as to why these two guys are working with each other yet.

it just doesn't sound right. Yeah it got a huge pop yes, but it doesn't sound right to me. Plus it sounds more like he's trying to get a cheap pop. You know how some Die heart fans can be when they hear the world wrestler or wrestling in WWE they all go ape shit. "FUCK YEAH! HE SAID WRESTLER! FUCK YOU VINCE HE'S A WRESTLER! He's Not your Puppet like Cena! He's a WRESTLER!"

And saying it's Mankind 2.0, it's not a bad thing. If anything I loved the story like back in the day and I am sure to love this one to. What I am saying is these storyline have a lot in common.

the loveable overachiever- Mick, Daniel

The Guy the Company wants to be their star- Rock, Orton

The asshole bossman- Vince, Triple H

No, that's Stone Cold vs. The Rock....Get your head out of the gutter.

Mankind was the one who was tricked by Vince to give Rock the title, nothing more, nothing less. He never mentioned the whole "you can't be the face of the company" thing to him, but it was to Stone Cold.

you giving me a headache on that. YES I know That shit! But Foley's storyline was also the fact he was the overachiever the guy who isn't meant to be the top guy because he didn't fit the part because he was fat, he didn't dress the right way...ect ect. Stone Cold's stoneline was more dept and kinda more the same but he was more the rebel who beat up his boss.

^No. The whole storyline was about McMahon tricking Mankind to easily give the title to Rock. It wasn't because Mankind wasn't fit to be the top guy, it was because he wanted to give Rock the title.

^ they Fucking said it in goddamn promos that he didn't fit the model. They only used him to get Rock the championship, that they never plan on giving him the championship because he wasn't what the rock was!

To state what I said in a different thread it's a Mixture of the stone cold and Mick foley storyline. But Daniel Bryan is more Mick because of the loveable overachiever aspect.

You stated that in the same thread I aint bothered

And....not to be a smart ass to Moose, but he made a typo. It's *Belt
Just helping someone out, but nevertheless it was a nice read and I'm wondering the same thing too. How come nobody helped him? I honestly feel like Heyman & Curtis could join HHH/Orton's Corporation since The Shield, Orton, and Curtis Axel are all the champions. Great Segments/Promos from Heyman Vince, HHH, and Orton together. Which will lead to CM Punk helping DBry
