| I said in chat how the Batman Arkham games are so short. And to me, they feel that way. I think it's because I'm the type of gamer who wants to beat the entire game first, and then do all the side mission craps. So the Batman Arkham games aren't completely short, especially with having to find all of the Riddler's riddles.
But that makes me wonder what you guys like more: when the story has a good amount of quantity or the game itself just having a good amount of quantity.
After all, games like Borderlands (especially the sequel) have a massive amount of extra stuff to do. But if you just focus on the main story, it can feel lacking.
So what do you guys prefer? |

| I like long stories with stuff that opens up after you beat it. I couldn't really be bothered to do all the extra stuff in Arkham City because I felt compelled to go do the story. It seemed more urgent. Whereas in an RPG most of the superbosses and whatnot open up once you beat the game, so you have a goal once you're done with the story. |

| I think I prefer overall quantity. I've played a lot of franchises who deal with long stories but then have a ton of side-missions/extra stuff to do. AC, CoD, GTA, inFAMOUS, many others. |

| For me, the Arkham games aside from Asylum have been perfect with this. Asylum was great, but there was nothing to do after beating the main story and getting the Riddler trophies. City, there are tons of side missions, and the same goes for Origins. I prefer a good story though, that's what hooks me in games the most. Arkham has had perfect stories. |

| Quality. I loved a good story in a video game, so even if it's short, but MEGA fun to play I'm open to it.
Of course it is underwhelming when you're just starting to get into an awesome game...then you beat it <_< |

| I feel like a great story these days are what make people love most games. If it wasn't, Walking Dead probably wouldn't have been close to game of the year with its simple gameplay and graphics. |

| I'd rather have more main story stuff than loads of side things. I can rarely be bothered collecting all the things. |

Wait...isn't it just the story of the show though? Then why the fuck do so many people love it? |

Wait...isn't it just the story of the show though? Then why the fuck do so many people love it? Game > Show By 10000%. Seriously, play the game. ------------------------------ Also, someone said the Arkham games aren't short. If that's the case, how come it only took me less than 8 hours to beat the main storyline of City? Extra stuff is nice and all, but this does technically make Arkham City a short game. |

| Exactly. The side missions and all that make it way longer. Playing the story alone wouldn't take as long.
Also, IDK if you've played Origins but that one is pretty long as well. It's longer than City. |

| I said that, but I play an hour or two a day at most, that's if I play at all due to being busy. 8 hours to me in a game is a long time because of that |

| I prefer story quantity. I do love a long game but if it lacks an overall direction then I won't really enjoy it as much. Though if a game has an amazing story then it'd be a shame it's over so quick.
When I played that Final Fantasy game years ago, it was on like (5 or 3 discs), I enjoyed it, but it was long and the story was kind of thin. The Walking Dead game is a good example with it's powerful storytelling. |

| To me its if its multiplayer centric then overall quantith and qualitg matter...only if its more single player centric does story quality matter more because thats all they have to lure you in. Its whybi still feel Brothers A Tale of Two Sons is one of my most favorite games ever. |
