TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus spoke to Herald-Dispatch.com recently, covering a bunch of different topics. One of these topics was breaking into the business, which he did alongside former TNA star and wrestling veteran Douglas Williams.

"I was very green when I first came in. I probably wouldn’t have lasted. As a singles guy, you’re very exposed. You learn on the job. Doug took me under his wing. We complemented each other, benefited from working with one another. The tag win was a big deal. Chances are I’d be around a while."

The champion also mentioned that TNA Wrestling is in a new era, with the recent departures of Sting, Hulk Hogan, Jeff Hardy taking time off, AJ Styles and others.

“We’ve moved to a new era. We looked to others to run things before. They wouldn’t pull the trigger on the young talent. You put yourself into a spot. If you don’t do it fast enough, people won’t buy into it. In transition, you have to make it real.

Magnus will defend the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at TNA Lockdown, live on PPV next month. He will step into the ring against former tag team partner and Main Event Mafia member, the "Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe."

There was supposed to be a "New Era" with Bobby Rooooooooooo as well, but I saw nothing, but TNA ship shinking.

The Bobby Roode era was fantastic.

The current product certainly has a different feel to what was around a few months ago and it's very enjoyable, imo.

it's gotten better, but it still using it's old tricks. Already there is a new heel stable and a another power struggle storyline.

Very true, but it stills feels fresh to me. I honestly thought MVP coming in would be shit, but I'm actually enjoying it so far. Plus I don't think this power struggle one storyline will last as long as the previous one, as they were dragging storylines out for like literally years back then lol.

I think the talent being used are fresh too, and not people like Matt Hardy and Scott Steiner, which is helping.

it seems like they will be going into another power struggle after lockdown. If Dixie wins and Bobby gets 10% ownership, and he cut a very baby face promo last Impact. Looks like its going to be Dixie vs Bobby after Dixie vs MVP

What makes it different to me is that we ain't dealing with legit stables here, like Immortal, Fortune, Ace N' Eights etc. but just collective few that are known to run together. If they made proper stables out of them, then it would be annoying to me.

Of course I wouldn't have run a power struggle storyline to begin with, but at least it it the same old people this time.
