Drake Dysfunction vs. Dominik Divera(C) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Drake Dysfunction vs. Dominik Divera(C)   Drake Dysfunction vs. Dominik Divera(C) EmptyMon Aug 05, 2013 12:56 am

We return to XWA: Vendetta; the premiere show of the XWA, in a hallway corridor. Drake Dysfunction is the first thing we see, and he looks mad.

Drake Dysfunction
One of the biggest flukes in XWA history occurred at the Revolutionary Wars pay-per-view: the crowning of a NEW XWA Intercontinental Champion in the shape of a 157-pound luchador who just got lucky! A little man who just scurried up that ladder
*acts out the "scurrying up" elevating his hand whilst twinkling his fingers* and taking down what he didn't deserve and, til this very day, doesn't belong to him!

The perspiration on the superstar's face is evident as he's been working up a storm backstage all night, stating the exact same thing he's stating now: that "Dominik Diveraz didn't deserve the win and doesn't deserve the right to be called XWA Intercontinental Champion". He's even gone as far as saying that it was a fluke.

Drake Dysfunction
I went through hell to win that! I almost ended my career winning that belt when I D-4'd Jaylon Brown on that electrical equipment and BARELY...just BARELY got up to answer the 10-count! I EARNED that belt, and tonight? I'm gonna take back what you stole, "MexiShit", and there is nothing....NOTHING you can do to stop me!

Taking in a deep breath and exhaling it, he continues.

Drake Dysfunction
Tables, ladders and chairs were factors of Rev Wars' main event. Tonight, those aren't there to save you from the beating that I will inflict on you. Tonight, there's only you, me, and the most embarrassing and systematic loss of your entire life! Dysfunction. Is. Upon you!

After that is said, he takes to the ring, disappearing from the scene. He looks confident and hungry for a second reign as the Intercontinental Champion, and it looks like he won't let anything stop him.

----

DING DING DING

Laura Watts
The following is scheduled for one-fall....and is for the XWA Intercontinental Championship!!!

Cheers are heard from the XWA fans, for they know that this match is gonna be good.

Laura Watts
Introducing first, from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, weighing in at 157 pounds. He is the XWA Intercontinental Champion: DOMINIK DIVERAZ!!!

Dominik raises his newly-won gold he won at this past pay-per-view up high in the air for the fans to see as they cheer for the man who dethroned Drake Dysfunction.

Laura Watts
And his opponent from Orlando, Florida, weighing in at 220 pounds: DRAKE DYSFUNCTION!!!

We see both men standing away from each other, "MexiMelt" now handing the championship to the official. The ref than raises the championship high in the air, showcasing what is at stake here tonight to the thousands in attendance and the millions watching at home.

Ted Cedar
That's what it's all about, ladies and gentlemen. That is what is at stake here.

Adam Dennis
Drake wouldn't stop crying about his loss in the back, so Caleb Spires gave him a rematch to shut him up....

In the ring, Drake is seen inaudibly talking smack to Dominik Diveraz.

Adam Dennis
...and it looks like he hasn't stopped.

Ted Cedar
You sure it's not because he has a rematch clause in his contract?

Adam Dennis
That could be part of it, yeah.

The referee now rings the bell to commence the championship match that Drake has wanted ever since the exact moment he's lost it. He's that hungry for gold, and is looking to show that tonight as he starts encircling the ring with the Intercontinental Champion following suit. Both men soon lock up in a collar-and-elbow-tie-up, with Drake Dysfunction getting the upper hand when turning this tie-up into a side headlock. With the head of the "Mexican" Intercontinental Champion trapped in the arm of the man with the size advantage, the former 2WWF star tries his best to shove him off, but in this match, size equals power, and all the power goes to "The Demolitionist" Drake Dysfunction. Drake tightens his grip, getting tired of simply standing there with his prey. This is evident when he takes Dominik and slams him onto his back. The impact of hitting the mat with his back causes Dom to roll backwards, pushing off the mat with his hands and landing onto his feet, showing off that agility he's known for. Drake sprints towards him, but is stopped in his tracks with an elbow to the fans that sens him staggering backwards to the center of the ring. A roundhouse thrust kick to the midsection of the former champion is seen hit, causing him to drop down to his knees, favoring the midsection while "MexiMelt" sprints towards the ropes. He then comes off said-ropes with the figurative speed of a cheetah, driving the point of the knee to Drake's face.

Ted Cedar
What an enzuiguri!!! An enzuigrui by the champion!

Adam Dennis
Brilliant move by "MexiMelt".

Drake collapses onto his back, as does Dominik after connecting with the enzuiguri. However, the performer of the move is easily able to kip up to his feet. While Drake is down, literally gazing at the lights above. Dominik sprints towards the ropes again and ricochets off them, leaping off into a back flip and ultimately landing across the midsection of "The Demolitionist". Drake jolts from the impact of the landing while Diveraz simply reaches over and hooks the leg for the first pin attempt in this championship match.

1....2...

Drake forcefully kicks out, so much force in the kick out that he sits up, screaming with passion. He ain't down yet. Dom just gives him a Ric Flair-style chop to the chest that sends him back down on his back. The fans laugh at this predicament as Dominik grabs Drake Dysfunction by the hair and pulls him up onto his feet, quickly switching gears as he Hurricanrana's him into the ropes. Drake ends up hanging on the second rope by the neck, set up for the Tiger Feint Kick made famous by Rey Mysterio Jr., a move that "The Mystic Midget" is looking to perform right now.

Ted Cedar
Uh-oh! Will we be seeing a tribute here? Will we see the 619?

Adam Dennis
Sure as hell looks like it, Cedar! The luchador is about to get a little bit cocky!

"Mystic Midget" sees Drake set up the way he wants him before wasting no time in running to and from the ropes, about to hit the Feint Kick, with Drake lying in wait for the inevitable. Dom goes flying off his feet, going horizontal through the ropes...getting caught in the process. Yes, the 619 hasn't been hit. Instead, "The Dysfunctional One" has caught "The Mystic Midget" and now positions him on the shoulder. Mex does whatever he can, realizing he has been caught and now kicks his legs frantically, trying to get off the shoulder before the inevitable happens. Luckily for the resident from San Luis Potosi, he manages to get out of this particular predicament, landing behind Drake Dysfunction. He then grabs him in ¾ face lock before leaping up in the air, switching position in the air and ultimately landing the Asai DDT he calls the Cortador Tolerancia.

Crowd
OHHHHH!

Adam Dennis
"OHHHHH!" is right! Did you see that move?

Ted Cedar
That Asai DDT is always effective whenever he hits it! Looks like he has retained his title here!!!

Certainly looks that way as Drake's eyes are shut and he isn't moving. Dom latches onto BOTH legs this time and hooks to the point where Drake's knees are touching his face.

1....2...THR-

NO!

Drake gets the shoulder up, much to Dominik's surprise, destroying any chances of Dominik ending the match here. Still, he could have a chance here. All he needs to do is execute a move that he has put so many opponents away with: the Front Lungblower known simply as the Matanza. Drake gets to his feet slowly, feeling croggy after the Asai DDT. Waiting for the man to turn around, the last thing that former 2WWF star Dominik Diveraz anticipates is Drake staggering forwards towards the corner.

Ted Cedar
I don't know if this is smart thinking on Drake Dysfunction's part or if he's simply out of it after that Asai DDT.

Adam Dennis
I'll go with "He's out of it" for 200, Alex.

Dominik, of course, decides to improvise before hitting his finisher. Drake turns around in the corner to see "Señor Beaner" running toward him. Before it's too late, he moves out of the corner and "The Taco Bell Warrior" goes crashing into the corner, splashing nothing but the turnbuckles. "The Supreme Burrito" looks like he's in pain as he backs away from the corner, favoring the frontal area. Before reacting in time to save himself, Drake successfully connects with a leg lariat, sending the Mexican crashing down onto the back of his neck. The added leg weight from the lariat provides extra pressure and pain for Mr. Diveraz as Drake cracks down with the leg drop that finishes the lariat maneuver.

Ted Cedar
Oh man! That was out of nowhere!

Drake stands to his feet while Dom favors the back of the neck, even kicking at the mat to show that he's hurt. Drake balls up his fists, screaming to the fans who return with boos as he runs at the ropes, ricochets off of them and performs a seated senton, landing back-first across the midsection of the "The Taco Bell Warrior". If this were a heavier man, Dominik's ribs would have been broken like a crunchy taco (CRUNCH!). Drake hooks the leg of "MexiMelt".

1....2...

"MexiMelt" gets the shoulder up, and this title match continues. Drake grabs the Mexican by the head and pulls him up to his feet, inaudibly trash talking in the face of Diveraz. Diveraz answers this trash talk by headbutting Drake Dysfunction. Dysfunction covers his face with his hand after this headbutt and he turns his back on Dominik. Dom then follows his headbutt with a dropkick to the back, causing Drake to fall forwards. He's now left in the same predicament he was in before, hanging on the middle rope by his neck; his arms hanging over them as well. Mex wastes no time as he quickly runs to and from the ropes, flies through the ropes in a horizontal position and kicking Drake right in the mush, successfully executing the 619 this time. Drake is sent rolling backwards after that kick, now-sitting in a seated position, favoring the face that has been heavily affected. Now, when I say heavily affected, I mean just that. Drake now has a broken nose as a result of the 619. The headbutt was the start of it while the 619 just added insult to injury. Blood is just pouring from the nose, crossing the lips to the bottom of his chin.

Ted Cedar
Good god. Dominik busted him up REAL bad. Just look at all that blood!

Adam Dennis
You're gonna get hurt in this business, Ted, but I gotta agree. That nose is gonna have to be checked on after this match.

Dominik stands ready to strike from the ring apron. Jumping onto the top rope and bouncing off of them, he shoots his legs into the chest of "The Demolitionist", connecting the Springboard Dropkick. This particular move leaves Drake "lawn-chaired". That is to say that his knees are touching his face.

Adam Dennis
Wow....THAT'S an awkward position.

The "lawn-chaired" position soon gets switched into Drake turning onto his side, trying to get onto his feet. Dominik measures Drake, waiting for him to turn after he's finished using the ropes for aid to get to his feet. Once he's at a standing base, Drake turns to meet "The Taco Bell Warrior" set and ready. Drake staggers into Dominik leaping up into the air, pressing both of his knees against the chest of his opponent whilst grabbing onto both of his shoulders before falling backwards, bringing his opponent down with him. Like the description? It describes the move that Dominik can use to possibly end this match and retain the title: the Matanza. The finisher of "Señor Beaner" has been hit to perfection and this looks like the end for Dysfunction as he's kicking and screaming in pain while clutching both of his arms to his chest whilst laying on his back.

Ted Cedar
The Matanza has been hit, and this looks like the end!

After the finishing maneuver is hit, Dominik crawls over to the downed "Demolitionist" and hooks the leg.

1....2....3 (Psych!)

Drake kicks out at the LAST. SPLIT. SECOND!!! The crowd is showing their displeasure right now by booing. They cannot believe that Drake kicked out of the Matanza....and neither can Dominik Diveraz, who looks pissed the fuck off. He starts smashing his fists into the face of "The Demolitionist", letting the blood wash upon his taped up fists. He then ceases from the shots and then slams his head down hard onto the mat, the back of his head making the impact. Dominik then begins screaming.

Dominik Diveraz
Orale! You think my win was a "fluke", holmes?! Huh?! You think my--

He sees that he's trying to sit up, so he kicks him in the face to knock him back down.

Dominik Diveraz
--title win against you at Rev Wars was me being a cobarde?! Te voy a mostrar la diferencia entre usted y yo. Cómo un gringo hace el trabajo y cómo un campeón mexicano
*Beats his chest when he says this* hace el trabajo, ese. Te voy a mostrar, ese!

He says this while picking him up by the head, the crimson mask being prominent on the face of "The Dysfunctional One" as he slowly gets pulled to a standing base. Dominik gets up to his face this time, continuing the trash talk to this good-for-nothing heel.

Dominik Diveraz
I'm gonna show you, gringo, why I deserve to be the Intercontinental Champion. You're gonna lose, gringo.

Following these words made out to be promises towards Drake Dysfunction, Drake is seen smiling, displaying his blood-stained teeth to Diveraz. This infuriates Dominik and he goes airborne again, pressing his legs against the chest of "The Dysfunctional One". However, as "MexiMelt" goes to latch his arms onto the shoulders, Drake slaps them both away at the last minute, causing Dominik to crash onto the mat back-first. Surprised at this, he kips up quickly and rushes towards him. However, Drake catches and has him in the setup for the moonsault side slam. Without warning, he leaps off the mat into a moonsault, turning himself and Dominik in the air until they land on the mat with Drake successfully landing the D-4. Drake quickly hooks "MexiMelt's" leg.

1.....2....THR- NO!

Ted Cedar
He kicked out from that D-4 hit out of nowhere!! Where did Drake muster up the strength to hit that?!

Adam Dennis
Honestly, I think he's been playing us all this time. Now is when he's pulling out what he's got! This is the surprising aspect of Drake Dysfunction we've heard about. His own damn name: "Dysfunction" doesn't give him justice!

"The Dysfunctional One" begins laughing, on his knees following the failed pin attempt. People are looking at him like he's lost it, and he must surely have. He stands up as Dominik starts rolling on his midsection, attempting to get to his feet. Drake looks at his valiant attempt and "aww's" at this before kipping up and darting to-and-from the ropes. Dom, now on all fours, surprises Dysfunction as well as the public with an Impacto, a Dragonrana quickly executed to the delight of the fans in attendance. Dominik has him pinned to the point where he's laying face down, holding the legs down as well, providing extra leverage.

1......2.....THRE-

However, this leverage can also be turned around as "The Natural Revolution" manages to turn this around, kicking the 157-pounder onto his shoulders. Drake now sits on the mat, holding Dom's legs to his chest while his own legs are pinning down the shoulders.

1.....TW-

Dominik now kicks out, sending himself rolling backwards off the shoulders. He now gets in a position to where he's standing on his feet while leaning on the legs of "The Demolitionist". "The Demolitionist" now finds himself in the "lawn chair" position again.

1.....2...

Adam Dennis
This is friggin' nuts!

Adam says this after Drake had kicked out. This time HE had been the one to roll backwards off of his shoulders. However, Dom managed to hold the legs. In other words, Drake kicked out of a pin in order to be locked in a modified Boston Grab. It's modified because, rather than the legs being tucked under the arms, Dom locks his hands together while maintaining a hold on the legs by the quads. Drake finds himself in a difficult situation at first since he sees that, due to ring positioning, he has nowhere to go as far as rope breaks are concerned. However, the way Dom is holding the legs give Drake an advantage, and we see that as he clicks his legs together, both legs hitting the sides of "MexiMelt's" head. After a few repeated shots, the Mexican-Intercontinental Champion has no choice but to release the grab. But, before Drake is even given a chance to get up, Dom lays on Drake's back and locks both his arms together to the point with both of his are almost touching. He has locked in the Mutilación Del Ganado. In English, we call this the Cattle Mutilation.

Ted Cedar
Good god!!! He has locked in CATTLE MUTILATION!!! Cattle Mutilation is locked in!!! We may very well see him retain his title!

Not so fast Ted. Though this move is deemed unbreakable, this IS a regular singles match where there are disqualifications, count outs and -- yes -- rope breaks. Drake's knees dig at the mat as he begins to scooch backwards, itching to get to the ropes for a rope break while Dominik stands on his tippy-toes, maintaining the bridge that makes this hold an even more wonderful sight to look at. However, Drake is almost there. He's getting closer and closer. Just then, before you know it, the tip of his boot where his toe is located rests on the bottom rope and the referee deems it worthy of the infamous 5-count heard in the event of a legitimate rope break.

And Dominik finally releases the arms from their captive state, ceasing the utilization of the Cattle Mutilation maneuver. He rises to his feet whilst screaming this nice, colorful word.

Dominik Diveraz
Puñeta!!!

Now that he's up on his feet, he reaches down and grabs Drake by the head. However, this is when Drake decides to take a cheap shot by thumping the eye of the Mexican. The Mexican favors the eye while the referee, of course, gets on Drake's case for the illegal maneuver.

Referee
Hey! Watch the eyes!

Drake simply smiles and shrugs as if he's telling the ref "What can you do? I'm like that". All of a sudden, when Drake goes to deal with Dominik, Dominik, grabs hold of Drake's head and rakes they eyes of "The Dysfunctional One"!

Ted Cedar
Diveraz giving him a little taste of his own medicine!

Adam Dennis
You know what they say: "An eye for an eye".

Dominik grabs a distracted Drake Dysfunction, who's distracted by the pain his eye is giving him. He whips him into the ropes. Drake rebounds off the ropes and comes charging, managing to duck a clothesline attempt and rebound off the second set of ropes. Dominik responds to this by back flipping, sticking his free leg out so that it crashes onto the skull of the rebounding superstar.

Ted Cedar
PELE! The Pele Kick is hit!

A unique move in the art of high flying such as the Pele Kick does a lot of damage to the superstar being on the receiving end of it. Drake is now on his back, the blood from his nose having dried and having blended in with his skin already as Dominik goes for the cover after the Pele Kick.

1....2...THR-NO!

Crowd

Ohhhhh!

Drake kicks out at the last second following the Pele Kick that should have knocked him out. Usually with your own speed and velocity becoming your enemy in a situation where you get clocked with the Pele, you're bound to be knocked out. I guess Dom didn't get it in all the way and the kick wasn't strong enough, but no matter. Drake is still in this and still determined to win back the IC Title. Dominik has no idea what to do. What does he have to do to put Dysfunction away. All of a sudden, he hatches and idea (cue the figurative light bulb over his head). He gets up, confidence beaming on his face right now as he reaches down and picks his opponent up. He leads his opponent over to the corner and Dom sits on the top turnbuckle, facing Drake. He gets manages to get Drake up to his level. Right now, they're both balancing themselves on the top turnbuckle, Dominik looking to make sure that it's over.

Ted Cedar
No...NO. You're kidding me. He's not thinking...

Adam Dennis
Magnífico Matanza? It has to be.

Ted Cedar
Now I realize he's hit the standard Matanza already, and it didn't get the job done.

Adam Dennis
So now he figures that the Magnífico Matanza is sure to work. It's the beginning of the end here. Dominik is gonna walk out as champion.

Dominik positions Drake to where "MexiMelt" himself is standing with his back turned and Drake is facing him. He says something to Drake before he continues on doing what he's gonna do.

Dominik Diveraz
Any last words, gringo?

Drake, looking exhausted as hell, isn't to out of it to respond.

Drake Dysfunction
"Allow to fulfill....your DYING WISH."

Drake then headbutts Dominik in the face and shoves off the turnbuckle, sending crashing down back-first onto the canvas. Dominik arches his back in pain while Drake keeps his balance on the turnbuckle. Just then, he leaps off the turnbuckle and performing a corkscrew somersault before landing on Dominik's midsection with a senton. Drake has hit the Dying Wish.

Adam Dennis
Oh my god!!! Wha--what the hell just happened?!

Drake hooks the leg of the Mexican and the referee counts it.

1.....2......3!!!!

DING! DING! DING!!!

Laura Watts
Your winner of this match....and the NEW XWA Intercontinental Champion: DRAKE DYSFUNCTION!!!

Ted Cedar
Dominik had him, but took too much time, I believe. Drake capitalized on that mistake and he is now a two-time XWA Intercontinental Champion!

Adam Dennis
I still don't believe what I just saw, but I guess congratulations are in order for Drake Dysfunction. These fans might not like it, but he doesn't care.

The new XWA Intercontinental Champion gets his hand raised in victory after being presented with the championship he had lost to Dominik Diveraz at Revolutionary Wars 5. It is now in his possession once again as he showboats with it to the displeasure of the fans. Once again, he's got the gold.

[END]

Drake Dysfunction vs. Dominik Divera(C) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Drake Dysfunction vs. Dominik Divera(C)   Drake Dysfunction vs. Dominik Divera(C) EmptySat Aug 10, 2013 4:57 pm

Two men stand across from one another in the squared circle. These two are former Intercontinental Champion Drake Dysfunction and the man whom defeated him for that very belt, Dominik Diveraz. Just one week after Diveraz ended Drake's Championship reign in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs match, they have a rematch tonight for the gold; albeit in a normal Singles Match tonight. At Revolutionary War, Dominik had the upperhand, having been in many TLC matches throughout his career and not losing a single one of them. Tonight, there is no clear advantage for either superstar aside from the Champion's advantage that states that if the Champion loses by countout or disqualification or the match ends in draw the Championship is retained by the previous holder. Outside of the ring is Takumi Sanu, whom is here to show his support to Diveraz. That is all he will do, as he never wishes to interfere in his partner's matches. The two men stare across the ring at each other, ready for a fight. XWA official Ryu Sanu, no relation to Takumi, calls for the bell to be rung thrice and signal the start of the match as the two men circle one another.

DING! DING! DING!

Ted Cedar
"The official has called for the bell and this match is officially underway."

Slowly but surely, the two competitors make their way closer to each other as they continue to circle. Eventually, they lock up in a collar-and-elbow tie-up, with Drake easily overpowering his smaller opponent and pushing him into the corner of the ring. Ryu calls for him to let his opponent out of the corner and Drake obliges for a brief moment, only to kick Diveraz in the gut. He then pulls Dominik out to the center of the ring and sets up for a Back Suplex. Showcasing his great agility, Diveraz manages to do a full back flip and land on his feet behind his opposition. Drake quickly turns around only to receive a swift Dropkick directly to the jaw that is heard all around the arena. Drake stumbles backwards, through the ropes and to the outside. Inside the ring, Dominik stalks his opponent as he readies himself for something big. Once Drake reaches his feet, Diveraz rebounds off of the ropes to gain momentum before sprinting in his opponent's direction. He leaps through the ropes, placing his arms to his sides and stiffening his body, before crashing head-to-head with Drake in a huge no-handed Suicide Dive dubbed the Zambullida Mortal! Fans cheer for the huge move. Dominik manages to land on his feet, albeit a bit woozy as he just flew head-first into his opponent's head, as Dysfunction crashes into the security barricade.

Ted Cedar
"Beautiful Suicide Dive by Dominik Diveraz right there! He calls that one the Zambullida Mortal."

Adam Dennis
"It was a thing of beauty, alright, but it wasn't without a price. They don't call it a Suicide Dive for no reason. Dominik clearly butted heads with Drake, and to butt heads while diving that fast, it has to hurt."

Inside the ring, Ryu has begun a ten count. Diveraz, being the noble man that he is, decides that he doesn't want to win this thing by count-out and he grabs his opponent by his head and trunks before rolling him back into the squared circle. Instead of following him in, Dominik has another idea. He climbs onto the apron and then heads up the nearest turnbuckle until he reaches the very top. Making sure to keep his balance just right, he stands up perfectly atop the turnbuckle and waits for Drake to reach his feet, which the taller man slowly does. Once the timing is just right, Diveraz leaps off the top turnbuckle, doing a somersault, and looking to land with a Dragonrana dubbed the Impacto! Unfortunately for the small Mexican man, Drake catches him on his shoulders and reverses the Impacto into a very impactful Powerbomb! Most audience members cheer at the big reversal, with the exception of some die-hard Diveraz fans. Dominik rolls onto his side as he presses his hand against his back in an attempt to relieve some of the pain he currently feels. Takumi looks on from ringside with an expression of worry on his face.

Adam Dennis
"Dominik took one risk too many and ended up suffering for it."

Ted Cedar
"You have to give credit to Drake right there for that one. Diveraz may not be the biggest man in the business, but neither is Drake, and he managed to catch him, practically with ease, and then drill him back-first onto the canvas. And that was after having Diveraz dive head-first into him earlier."

Drake quickly goes for the cover and Ryu slides down to count it, but Diveraz gets his shoulder up at one and a half. Dysfunction wasn't expecting to get the win this early, but it was worth a shot regardless, since his former Championship is on the line. He drags Dominik to the center of the ring and sits him up before applying a seated Headlock to the Spanish superstar. Being in the middle of the ring, Dominik obviously can't grab the ropes. At the same respect, it'd be very hard for him to drag his sixty-three pound heavier opponent to the ropes with him. With nowhere to go, Dominik needs to find a way out and he needs to find it quick. On the outside of the ring, Takumi can be heard shouting words of encouragement to his partner before repeatedly slapping the canvas in an attempt to get the entire crowd clapping. It may not have gotten the entire crowd involved, but Sanu did managed to get a good portion of them clapping in support of Diveraz, trying to help will him out of this predicament. Dominik's leg starts shaking as he feels the adrenaline pumping throughout his body. Slowly but surely, he begins making his way back to his feet, a task that's much easier said than done when you've got a man much bigger than you trying to hold you down and choking you out. Dominik manages to make it to his feet regardless and he begins elbowing his way free, eventually managing to hit Drake hard enough that he forces him to let go of his Headlock. Being freed from the Headlock, Dominik immediately darts towards the ropes in an attempt to ricochet off of them for momentum, but Drake was right behind him and he kneed Dominik straight in the gut, causing him to flip onto his back, holding his stomach in pain.

Adam Dennis
"Well, Dominik managed to make his way out of the Headlock, but he didn't escape Drake's wrath quite yet."

Ted Cedar
"Both of these men are great competitors, but right now Drake is the one who's staying consistently on his opponent. If he keeps this up, he may very well recapture the Intercontinental Championship."

Drake takes a brief moment to collect his thoughts and decide upon his next course of action. What will he do? Will he try another submission? Will he go for an aerial attack? Will he try to put this one away with his patented Dysfunctional Disaster? In the end, he decides on something and he lifts his opponent to his feet before blasting him in the chest with a very sharp Knife Edge Chop, the audience WOOing along with it, paying homage to the great Ric Flair. Drake lands a few more Knife Edge Chops, each one garnering the same response from the audience, as Dominik's chest turns a bright red and he's backed up into a corner of the ring. Drake proceeds to lift his opponent up to a seated position on the top turnbuckle before climbing up to the middle and applying a Front Chancery. It seems his intentions are now easily deciphered. He wants to land a Superplex! Dominik and his Championship are in serious jeopardy right now, as he is about to be taken off the top turnbuckle. The little man fights back with everything he has, repeatedly punching his opposition in the mid-section until Drake finally lets go. Following this, Diveraz lands a Headbutt to his opponent's cranium, followed by a second one and then a third. The third one was enough to send Drake tumbling backwards off of the turnbuckle, albeit landing on his feet. The distraction of trying to keep his balance gives Dominik enough time to get perched atop the turnbuckle, before leaping off in a somersault again, this time landing his Impacto Dragonrana to perfection! The maneuver lands in a pin attempt as Ryu goes for the count, but Drake kicks out just in the nick of time!

Ted Cedar
"A very close count right there following the Impacto by Diveraz!"

Adam Dennis
"Just when it looked like things would be over for Diveraz, he manages to turn things around and almost get the win. Kudos, you tiny son of a bitch."

Dominik slowly gets back to his feet, as he rubs his chest, which is still red from the Knife Edge Chops earlier on. He looks at the downed Drake with confusion and desperation in his eyes, as he thought that would surely be it. He then turns his attention to Takumi on the outside of the ring, asking him, "¿Qué hago ahora?" The Japanese superstar, whom is also fluent in Spanish, responds, "Acaba con él!" Diveraz simply nods in response, a look of determination coming across his face in the process. He turns his attention back to Drake, whom has rolled over to the ropes and is now using them to get himself back to his feet. Once he's standing, Dominik rushes over to him and leaps into the air, grabbing him by his shoulders whilst pressing his knees against his chest in an attempt to land his front Lungblower finisher dubbed the Matanza, but Drake grabs the top rope to prevent himself from being pulled down and this causers Dominik to lose his grip and fall backwards onto the canvas. Diveraz quickly gets back to his feet, looking to make up for this mistake, but instead he receives a vicious Superkick directly to the jaw; the Drake Kick! Drake collapses on top of his opponent in a pin attempt, but Dominik kicks out just at a count of two and three quarters!

Ted Cedar
"Drake was so close to regaining the Intercontinental Championship off of the Drake Kick right there! I can't believe Dominik kicked out with how hard he was hit!"

Adam Dennis
"That was one of the most beautiful Superkicks I've ever seen and Diveraz still kicked out? This guy is tough, that's for sure. Tiny as all hell, but tough."

Drake pounds his fists off of the canvas in anger as he thought for sure that would be the victory right there. He looks up at the official whilst pulling out his own hair. Ryu simply shrugs as if to say "sorry, but there's nothing I can do". The look of anger on Drake's face turns to one of determination as he gets back to his feet and waits for Diveraz to get up. He shakes in anticipation for what's about to happen as Dominik slowly but surely makes his way back to his feet, holding onto his jaw in the process. Once he's finally up, Drake kicks him in the gut and then lifts him into the air ala Gutwrench Powerbomb. He holds him above his shoulder, readying himself for his finishing maneuver, the Dysfunctional Disaster! Audience members let out a highly mixed reaction, split 50/50 on whether they want this to happen or not, but alas it doesn't happen; Dominik managing to slide down Drake's back. Trying to keep the momentum on his side, Drake quickly turns around, but he turns directly into the Matanza from Diveraz; the Spanish superstar pulling him down into a front Lungblower to land his finishing maneuver! Dominik immediately goes for the pin and Ryu counts it. One! Two! Three! The audience lets out another mixed reaction, though most of it appears to be cheers, as Takumi slides into the ring with the Intercontinental Championship in hand.

DING! DING! DING!

Ted Cedar
"He did it! Dominik retains the Intercontinental Championship! Just when it looked like Drake had this thing in the bag, Diveraz pulls off an excellent reversal, lands the Matanza and gets the win!"

Adam Dennis
"Great job there by Dominik."

Takumi hands Dominik his Championship belt as Diveraz raises it into the air, having his other arm get raised into the air by the official.

Laura Watts
"Here is your winner and STILL the XWA Intercontinental Champion, Dominik Diveraz!"

Dominik and Takumi celebrate as the show heads to a commercial break.
