TMZ reports that Phillip Seymour Hoffman was found dead today in his Greenwich apartment in New York City from an apparent drug overdose. Authorities apparently found a needle in his arm. An investigation at his apartment is still ongoing. Hoffman has struggled with drug problems in the past and checked himself into rehab for heroin last year in May.
Hoffman had previously been clean for several years before relapsing in 2012.
