Queen Latifah will perform 'America the Beautiful' at the Super Bowl.
The actress-and-singer has been enlisted to sing the patriotic tune during the pre-game show at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on February 2.
According to the New York Daily News newspaper, opera singer Renee Fleming has been tapped to sing the National Anthem, with Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers taking to the stage for the halftime show.
This marks the second time Queen Latifah has sung the tune at the Super Bowl, initially performing to rapturous applause in 2010.
The 43-year-old star was born in Newark and raised in East Orange so her appearance will be all the more meaningful since she will be performing in her home state.
This comes after Queen Latifah officiated 33 weddings at the 56th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night (26.01.14) during a Macklemore & Ryan Lewis performance of 'Same Love'.
The singer - who has long been subject to rumours about her sexuality - had recently been deputised by Los Angeles County to legally conduct wedding ceremonies and officiated over the nuptials of both gay and straight pairings live on stage.
