WWE Superstar Ryback took a pretty controversial shot at WWE Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler this week, responding to some comments King made on commentary this week. Jerry had said "Ryback wouldn't know which way an elevator goes if you gave him two guesses." Ryback responded with this:

"So apparently I do not know which way an elevator goes if you gave me two guesses according to Jerry Lawler. I can tell you one thing. If I was in an elevator with The Kat it would definitely be going down. Ryback Rules."

For those who don't know, Stacy "The Kat" Carter is a former WWE Diva and the ex-wife of Jerry Lawler. The two divorced in 2001, but even with Ryback responding "in character," this comment could easily be seen as crossing the line.

Interestingly, Ryback may have been trying out a new character this week on WWE Main Event, when he came down and circled the ring four times. Each time he simply walked around the ring, not making eye contact with any of the participants wrestling, and continued walking right back to the locker room. He was wearing a new jacket that said "The Big Guy", a nickname Ryback has been calling himself for the last week or so on Twitter.

Ryback's been calling himself "The Big Guy" for months. The ring circling reminds me already of AJ, and I don't think that's a good thing.

For those that missed this week’s episode of WWE Main Event (results/video highlights), Ryback did a lap around the ring after every match, including the Bad News Barrett segment.

This is the new wrinkle for Ryback’s character as he’s booked to be an “insane” heel. At one point the question was raised on commentary if viewers had heard of a “paranoid schizophrenic,” (implying that’s what Ryback was). This explains the bizarre social media behavior now coined as “Tweet and delete.”

Many fans started to question the stability of the former number one contender when he went on a bizarre Twitter rant after Saturday night’s WWE live event. The Tweets continued on Sunday and even seemed to get personal after this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

As it turns out, the entire thing is an elaborate work to try and generate heat virally. Apparently we weren’t the only ones that thought Ryback had “lost it” as people within the company had questioned his eccentric behavior. Ryback is cordial at shows, however, he’s not close with anyone and generally keeps to himself.

He shouldn't be a heel. Just have him attack everyone and be a unpredictable, crazy, badass tweener

He can't be a schizophrenic, that's Randy Orton's gimmick.
