Good news, purists.

Despite getting to wear the skin-piercing glove, doesn’t sound like Jackie Earle Haley’s incarnation of Freddy Krueger is going to be the one the ‘kids of the future’ will know and remember.

Platinum Dunes’ Brad Fuller says while sequels to most of their other horror properties are in various stages of development (including a new “Friday the 13th” sequel that may or may not include Jason – - erm, what!?) , a sequel to their redo of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” – which met with much criticism when it fingered theatergoers a few years back – isn’t on the cards.

According to Fuller, New Line (formerly known as ‘the House that Freddy Built’… before Gollum came along) isn’t interested in returning to Springwood.

“You know what? I haven’t heard a thing. It’s a little bit disappointing”, Fuller tells Crave Online. “We were very proud of that movie. It was Rooney Mara’s first starring role. In terms of pure box office, I think that’s our highest grossing film worldwide. I’d love to do another one, but I feel that way about all of our films. We don’t jump into these films unless we actually loved the characters or the story. I’d love to make Freddy Krueger movies every couple years. It’d be fantastic.”

While Haley, who stepped in for the great Robert Englund as the Bastard Son of a Hundred Maniacs on the remake, is signed for a couple more turns as Freddy, Fuller doesn’t know the in’s and out’s of the deal – and for all he knows, the option on Haley might have even expired.

“I really don’t know his deal so I don’t know when it runs out, but that’s up to New Line and if they want to do it, they will. New Line had such a huge hit with ‘The Conjuring’ and that was a fantastic movie and it feels like New Line might be moving away from the kind of horror with a lot of blood and that kind of thing in their movie, more towards what ‘The Conjuring’ was. At least that’s what I’ve heard, but no one has talked to us about Nightmare on Elm Street.”

Somewhere, Wes Craven smiles.

They're gonna have a Friday the 13th without Jason? Then they should start calling it something else.

The very first movie didn't have Jason in it up until the end. Plus I there was one that just had a guy pretending to be him.

Well the first Friday The 13th movie, was we all know Jason's mother, Pamela.

But also Friday The 13th V was a movie that did not have Jason in it at all. It was another man posing as Jason, the entire duration of the film. Of course we are lead to believe it is indeed Jason, and the swerve isn't revealed until the very end of the film

Jason Goes to Hell is almost entirely devoid of Jason as well, with the exception of the scenes at Camp Crystal Lake -- The beginning and end of the film.

EITHER WAY..... I DO NOT want to see a new Friday The 13th that doesn't include the Jason character. Get off it already, it's just not a good idea. Part V is one of the most forgettable entries of the series, and JGTH is retarded schlock: That really says something considering the rest of the FT13 movies are really art!
