It looks like Rajon Rondo will finally return to the Boston Celtics. Soon. Well, kind of.
Rondo, who has seemingly had a new target return date every week said recently he plans to return to the team before the All-Star break:
Rondo says he’ll be back before the All Star Break.
Of course, the NBA’s All-Star break
isn’t until Feb 14-16, so that leaves a month window for Rondo to return.
Granted, neither Rondo nor the Celtics are rushing the move as Boston is doing their best to tank for the upcoming draft, but it’ll certainly be nice to see the talented point guard back on the court.
It should be noted, this was Rondo’s personal view on a return, not the Celtics. It’s possible the team may opt to keep Rondo out longer if they so incline or if they feel there are any medical reasons to keep him sidelined, but it sounds as if Rondo is ready to get back on the court.
A return is coming soon, though, it’s not imminent.
Sounds like we’ve heard that before.
