WWE sent Wrestlezone.com an official statement on the incident that took place during this week's world tour in South Africa. 

"Tonight Randy Orton was violently attacked from behind by a South African fan, who is currently being held in jail pending criminal charges. The extent of Orton's injuries are unknown at this time."

TMZ is also featuring the story, along with a video that confirms that WWE Superstar Randy Orton was hit in the groin by a random fan, who was then removed from the ring by security. Orton did attempt to take a small shot at the attacker as he was being forcefully removed from the area.

I love how they make it sound like Orton was brutally beaten, when he was just low blowed.

Violently? He wasnt injured either.

The kid's low blow couldn't have hurt him at all. Still, the dude was a dumbass.

I blame security for letting the dude just chill there before nailing him in the sack.

"The extent of his injuries..." I think he just feels anger and loss of pride at this stage. Still paining from that hit to the balls.

I'd be pissed if I were Orton too.

That low blow looked so weak, I doubt his hurt at all.

It's still assault nonetheless..

I feel like Orton just played it off, until he realized that it was just a "Fan in the crowd"

Orton walked it off.....

Where's the brutal beat down? Where's the extent of the injuries? He literally walked back to the turnbuckles and continued to pose.
