- There is indeed a trademark battle over the name Fandango. WWE tried to trademark the term for use for a pro wrestler but Comcast has trademarked it for their movie ticketing website Fandango.com.

^ Wrong. I've seen at least 2 people in real life that saw a commercial for the ticket store thing and said "isnt that the wrestler guy?"

I actually prefer Fandango name over johnny Curtis, because Johnny Curtis is so bland and boring of a name. If they give him a bit of a nickname then more power to them and a good character to go with it.

Johnny Curtis' NXT gimmick was great, but I do agree that the name Johnny Curtis does nothing to help him stand out. Surely there's a happy middle ground, where he can be as golden as he was on NXT, but with a better name that isn't trademarked.

Japan already has a Rush and there's a Matt Stryker.

From what I hear NXT had excellent writing before merging with FCW.

The Fandango ticket thing has a hand puppet (or bag puppet or whatever) in a luchador mask.

Fandango needs to change his name and gimmick.

Maybe some kind of, I don't know, generic luchadore.

They could call him ... El Generico!!!
