Concurrent users on Steam reached 7 million over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, a new record for Valve's game distribution service.
On Sunday, the service peaked at 7,190,578 concurrent users, which marks an incredible increase from its 2012 record of 6 million, and even October's record 6.5 million. Much of this can be attributed to its holiday sale, which offered attractive deals on games like Tomb Raider, The Stanley Parable and The Wolf Among Us.
Still, Steam continues to grow existentially as users embrace PCs as an alternative to consoles and of course, the service's regular low low prices. One can only imagine that it will continue to grow in popularity upon the release of its Steam Machines next year; keep an eye on IGN for more details as Valve's next-gen visions start to become a reality.
