As has previously been reported, in the newly released "History of WWE" DVD set, WWE has massively edited the Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant Match, and as seen in the DVD the match is presented entirely from the hard camera.

According to WrestlingDVDNews.com, the reason why WWE made the big edit is because present in the background from most of the other camera angles is former ring announcer and behind-the-scenes employee Mel Phillips.

For those unaware, years ago Mel Phillips was exposed as a pedophile who frequently took advantage of underage males he supervised during the ring setup process at live events, and often times these males came from broken homes and troubled backgrounds.

Tom Cole, who worked for WWE as a ring attendant in the 1980s and 1990s, when he was underage through young adulthood, made accusations towards his former employer that resulted in the resignation of three longtime employees and helped fuel a sex scandal that plagued the company for years.

Well WWE were justified in editing the match then

Benoit is the focal point because he's wrestling a match. This guy is standing around.

I can see why it'd be a concern. The last thing you want while reliving a classic match is to be reminded of rape and sexual abuse.

if the guy selling hotdogs at the time became a murder, I would do everything in my power to make sure he wasn't seen.
