The Wrap reports that Sony Pictures Entertainment Co-Chairman Amy Pascal hinted at potential spin-off films being made to The Amazing Spider-Man movie franchise.

During a presentation to investors earlier today, Pascal said, "We are going to access Marvel's full world of Spider-Man characters, so be on the lookout for new heroes and villains." 

Deadline later added that Sony Pictures Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton said, "We do very much have the ambition about creating a bigger universe around Spider-Man. There are a number of scripts in the works."

Previously there was talk of making a movie based on Venom, but that has never materialized. 

Currently, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set for a May 2, 2014 release. A third film in the franchise is scheduled for a June 10, 2016 release.
