Japanese wrestling legend The Great Muta, is in talks with a "famous promotion" to trade talent with his brand new Wrestle-1 promotion in Tokyo. He recently left his position at All-Japan Pro Wrestling, taking many of the roster with him to start Wrestle-1, which launched on July 10th.

Muta (real name: Keiji Mutoh) did an interview with Tokyo Sports, which TNAInsider has translated to roughly mean, "...a famous promotion overseas asked me to partner. I will be going there to talk."

It is not likely Mutoh will be meeting with WWE, as the promotion is very small at this point, and likely not on Vince McMahon or Triple H's radar. Ring of Honor has a long-standing relationship with several talents from New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The most likely outcome is that Mutoh is in talks with Dixie Carter and TNA to trade talent. TNA Wrestling has partnerships all over the world, including AAA in Mexico where many of their talents go to perform. There were actually talks between TNA and the former All-Japan President in 2007 that did not come to fruition. If a deal could be reached, the agreement could be great for TNA, who has had noticeable struggles with budget cuts and scheduling performers for live shows recently, as they might be able to exchange talent with the budding promotion without signing expensive contracts.

This could be a very good move for TNA, especially with the problems they've been having. I hope it works out for them, and Mutoh's company as well.
