I read the news in the new Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The decision was made awhile back but they weren't ready during the last tapings.

I think it's a good decision. I personally thought the six sided ring looked cool but after learning how terrible it is to bump in I think this is what TNA needs to do.

AJ has said before that he once took an Angle Slam from the top rope onto the 6 sided mat and backstage he told Kurt he would never take that spot again. Than Hogan changed it to a 4 sided, AJ and Kurt did the spot again and AJ said that it was a lot better and he would take it again. Guys like James Storm have even said they hated taking bumps on the six sided ring compared to a 4 sided
