| WCW Nitro Results - Week 1, April
Opening Promo: W/ The Brian Kendrick Brian Kendrick's music hits to open the show and he's dressed as if he's going to a business meeting opposed to having a wrestling match and no one in attendance has the slightest of clue. Kendrick has a microphone in his hand and says that he knows what we all are thinking and says that he's been excited about this project for a long time. And right on cue, he announces that he's no longer just The Brian Kendrick, but he's been appointed as The General Manager Brian Kendrick by Ted Turner and that the rebirth of WCW will be nothing like the wrestling world has ever seen before and issues a challenge to the whole locker room to either step up or get stepped over. Next, Kendrick announces that there will be a series of championship qualifiers to determine a new WCW United States Champion and a WCW World Heavyweight Champion with the winners of each qualifier facing off at the next PPV. To end the segment, the new general manager simply wishes all the competitors competing on tonight's card good luck.
Match #1 - Triple Threat (WCW United States Championship Qualifier) | Jinder Mahal def. Marty Scurll & Zack Sabre Jr.
Match #2 - Singles Match (WCW World Heavyweight Championship Tournament) | John Cena def. Michael Elgin
Backstage Stage Promo: w/ Roman Reigns Roman Reigns is being interviewed backstage and says that he's glad that WCW is back and says just like WWE, this place will also fall to the Roman Empire. He then begins to talk about his World Heavyweight Championship qualifier and says he's not phased at all the competition after watching the last. In fact, he believes he has an easy path to being a World Champion again and it starts tonight by beating Daniel Bryan in which he states won't take much. Reigns then ends the segment by saying that Daniel Bryan may be the ultimate underdog, but he is the "Big Dawg" and tonight the underdog gets put to sleep.
Match #3 - Triple Threat (WCW United States Championship Qualifier) | Sami Zayn def. Luke Harper & Drew McIntyre
Match #4 - Singles Match | Billie Kay def. Asuka This is a match that Asuka is easily dominating but Billie Kay escapes w/ a victory after Asuka can't beat the 10 count due to the distraction of Eva Marie.
In-ring Promo: w/ the Showstealers: Dolph Ziggler & Christian Dolph is in the ring ready to compete but Christian's music hits and walks down to the ring not in ring gear, but in casual clothing instead to the dismay of Dolph Ziggler. Christian says he knows Dolph is ready to to do what he does best, which is steal the show, but he wants Ziggler to hear him out. He says that even though it's a new show, it's still the same old story. Christian brings up the fact that even though Ziggler is one of the most talented guys on the roster he still wasn't included in any of the tournament matches, but just a crowd warmer for the main event. He then reminds Ziggler that he's been in his position before and says he knows how it feels to be underutilized and taken advantage of when half the roster couldn't even lace his boots. Christian then tells Ziggler that with his experience and Dolph's skill, they could finally get the recognition that they deserve in this business. Finally, Christian extends his hand to Dolph, and while Ziggler initially contemplates accepting Christian's offer, he accepts Christian's proposal and a new team is born.
Main Event - Singles Match (WCW World Heavyweight Championship Tournament) | Daniel Bryan def. Roman Reigns Reigns dominates a majority of this match but is won on a roll up pin after Reigns misses a spear. Reigns sits in the ring beside himself while Daniel Bryan celebrates up the ramp as the show ends. |

| WCW Nitro Results - Week 2, April Opening In-ring promo: w/ Daniel Bryan, John Cena, & Roman Reigns Daniel Bryan's music hits to start off the show and the #1 contender is in quite a festive mood as he heads to the ring doing his signature YES! taunts with the audience. In the ring, he begins to speak about how excited he was to compete in a company with so much history as WCW and that even though Roman Reigns gave him the fight of his life, he's still the #1 contender and is one step closer to the ultimate prize in all of professional wrestling--the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. He then goes on to state that while beating John Cena is another huge mountain to climb he's proven that he can beat the best on the biggest stage when the lights shine brightest. AND BAH GAWD THAT'S JOHN CENA'S MUSIC, KING!
Cena walks to the ring with a purpose in his step as he prepares to address Daniel Bryan. In the, ring John first congratulates Daniel Bryan for a hard fought victory against Roman Reigns and then tells him that he looks forward to competing against him for the title. However, Cena then begins to question the validity of Bryan's win by stating that although he did earn the win, he was overwhelmed for a majority of the match and only won because dude missed his finishing move and he got him with a roll up pin. He goes on to state that Daniel Bryan was a bit "lucky." Cena then says that he won't make that same mistake, which prompts Daniel Bryan to fiercely rebuke his claim by saying it doesn't matter how you do it as long as you get the job done and tells Cena to keep underestimating him because it's an advantage for him, just like with Roman. However, this time Roman Reigns' music hits, ruining a segment between John Cena & Daniel Bryan.
Roman is standing on top of the stage looking annoyed as ever while he listens to chorus of boos coming down at him as he stands with a microphone in his hand. Roman then begins to speak and says that even though he thinks Cena is about as dumb as a box of rocks, he actually agrees with one thing: Daniel Bryan got a lucky win. Reigns goes on to bet that Bryan won't do it again and dares him to put his #1 contender qualification back on the line in a rematch tonight, which triggers Cena to interrupt Reigns by saying that Roman lost fair-and-square and should take his loss like a man. However, Daniel Bryan quickly intervenes and gladly accepts the challenge. But he announces that it will not be just any match, but a no disqualification match so that there will be no excuses. Afterwards, Bryan goes on to state that if he can beat Reigns once then he can do it again. Finally, the segment ends with Daniel Bryan staring down Roman Reigns whilst Roman nods his head in approval with an arrogant smirk on his face and with a bewildered looking John Cena focusing in on Daniel Bryan in the background.
Match #1 - Singles Match | Ricochet def. Curtis Axel Rather quick match here. Ricochet's aerial offense and quickness is too much for Curtis Axel to handle. Nice debut win for Ricochet in this one.
Backstage Promo: w/ The Brian Kendrick & Asuka After match 1, an angry Asuka is shown backstage barging into the office of the general manager The Brian Kendrick. Screaming at Kendrick in Japanese and some broken English, Asuka is angry that her undefeated streak was ruined by an outside interference in last weeks match. She demands a match with both Billie Kay & Eva Marie and claims that she will break both of them. And after listening to her demands Kendrick politely asks her to calm down and announces that she will be allowed her revenge in a handicap match later on tonight. He also announces that whomever the winner is, they get put in the match to determine the next Women's champion at the next PPV. However, he states that if she loses she's out. The segment closes with Asuka having a menacing looking smile on her face as she exits the GM's office.
Match #2 - Tag Team Match | The Revival def. Los Altos Volantes The Revival controlled most of this match early on by not allowing Sin Cara to make a take but Los Altos Volantes eventually settled in by making some hot tags throughout the match even in a losing effort.
Backstage Promo: w/ Sami Zayn and Jinder Mahal Sami Zayn is doing an interview backstage and he says he's always wanted a chance to work in WCW since he was a kid after watching Canadians such as Bret Hart who also left WWE to make a name for himself in WCW, so he thought to himself, "why not me?" Zayn then goes on to talk about how winning the US Championship in WCW would be such a career defining moment for him until he notices a larger figure towering over him--which is none other than THE MAHRAJA JINDER MAHAL! Mahal goes on to talk about 1.3 billion people, racism, India, calls himself The Mahraja, & then leaves. Segment over.
Match #3 - Handicap Match | Asuka def. Billie Kay & Eva Marie Asuka won this match pretty handily by knocking Billie Kay out and submitting Eva Marie in under a minute.
Backstage Promo: W/ The Show Stealers & The Brian Kendrick After the commercial break, The Brian Kendrick is shown in his office taking a phone call (presumably with network executives) only to be interrupted by both Dolph Ziggler and Christian. Christian starts by saying that this is two weeks in the row that both he and Dolph Ziggler have been left off the card and they are tired of watching less talented people get opportunities. Christian says that not only is he a better Canadian than Sami Zayn, but also a better wrestler and that he, not Zayn, should be fighting for the US Championship. Ziggler then gives the general manager a piercing stare and says that if they aren't going to get an opportunity here then maybe they should start making some calls to "other places." The Brian Kendrick replies and tells both that opportunities for the US and World Heavyweight championship are currently being occupied right now but he'll give both a shot for titles. He says that like the World Heavyweight and US championship, there will be a series of tournaments next week to determine the tag titles and that if both of them are as good as they say they are then they should be able to win them. Both Ziggler and Christian nod in approval and then exit as Brian Kendrick finishes his phone call ending the segment.
Match #4 - Singles Match | Marty Scurll def. Zack Sabre Jr. This match was made after Marty went to the GM throughout the week with complaints in which he felt that Sabre Jr. is the reason why he didn't win the triple threat match and a chance at the US championship. It's a fairly even match until Scurll uses a low blow in which allows him to uses his finishing maneuver to get the victory
Main Event - No Disqualification Match | Roman Reigns def. Daniel Bryan As you can imagine with most no DQ this match is a total war that leaves both men bloodied. A hobbled and bloodied Roman Reigns makes it to his feet to have his arm raised in victory...until "I'M A MAN WITH A PLAN" blasts through the speakers. The Brian Kendrick comes onto the stage with a microphone in his hand to speak. He first congratulates Roman Reigns on his victory and says that the blood that was shed in that ring tonight over a belt was exhibit A as to why the WCW World Heavyweight title is the most prestigious title in all of wrestling. But he also reminds Roman Reigns that he lost to Daniel Bryan in the original #1 contender match and says that both men are worthy of a title match. The GM pauses for a second and then says that the matches between Reigns & Bryan have been so good that he wants to see the two square off again for the third time...but this time with John Cena involved. With a beaten up and confused Roman Reigns looking on from the ring, The Brian Kendrick goes on to announce that the main-event for the next PPV will be Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan vs. John Cena in a triple threat match for the WHC. But it won't be just any triple threat match, however. Kendrick goes on to explain that the end goal for most professional wrestlers is to be World champion, and for most it's a very steep hill to climb, but luckily for them every step they've made so far will come to full circle at the next PPV as Kendrick decides then to announce that the stipulation for the title will be a ladder match between John Cena, Roman Reigns, & Daniel Bryan to determine the next WHC. Finally, The Brian Kendrick wishes all the competitors the best of luck and leaves with an angry and befuddled looking Roman Reigns in the ring to close the show. |
