Doki Doki Literature Club!
Steam
2017

This game is a visual novel that's also one of those horror games that try to make you feel uncomfortable with crazy visuals. I'm not going to spoil the game's story for you. For the first several hours playing the game it had me and I thought this was something special. But this game drags when you're trying to just get the default ending. I imagine there are different ending I can get and reading online it seems there are. I'm just not interested in doing that since the game went downhill for me the first time around.

The game did make me feel a bit uncomfortable but I got out of it because it was too over the top for me. When the game was normal I was able feel sorry for these characters and that's really important for a visual novel. The crazy visuals took me out of it. I'm reading online that people play this and it's the scariest game they ever played. Well I'm also playing DOOM right now and that's a game I played before and I get more scared playing that again than I did this. And DOOM is more of a arcade game while Doki Doki Literature Club tries to be a psychological horror. I'm just able to enthrall myself more in DOOM because the game is consistent and I don't think the man object was to try to freak me out.

This visuals are freaky but to me there were no threat behind them. If no matter what option you choose it happens than what's the point of being scared or frustrated?

It was interesting to go onto folders on my computer and see how I can mess with files to change the game. But doing it wasn't really fun. You should be able to do all of that in the game application.

But after all that I would recommend you check it out... if you're old enough and if you think you can handle a game like that. I'm not going to bitch about this game too much because it was free! If we had to pay for this game it would be a different story but it's free. I enjoyed playing this for awhile. And even though it did drag the story was kind of interesting. Maybe I just spend so much time playing the game I just felt the need to finish it to my satisfaction.

I think there are members of the forum that will find this creepy. It's just what you'll see as creepy made me drop my suspension of disbelief.

I'll score this a 5/10. It was disappointing but at least it was interesting and you can't beat the game being free.

Totally fair. I like the story it told and the way it told it though I don\'t know
