During the September 26 2013 of Impact Wrestling, TNA teased the debut of a new wrestler going by just the name Ethan. A segment aired with the words “Ethan is coming.”

Immediately after the promo aired, IMPACT’s official Twitter account posted the following tweet with the hashtag #EthanIsComing

I guess it's mainly because the place he's currently at is under NWA's mantle and TNA still has some ties with NWA.

Well for one, is it even confirmed that the guy on that Twitter IS the Ethan thats "coming"? Also they dont announce videos like that on television if the dude's just getting a tryout.

I said he wants a tryout with TNA, which can mean that he wants a shot at being a member of the TNA family, despite the recent cuts. I believe you're referring to tryout matches that WWE often holds for incoming indy talent.

TNA announces this guy as simply "Ethan", leading to believe that it's someone with the first name Ethan coming in from the UK or from a Canadian promotion (look at the Twitter) headed by the NWA. I'm going with Ethan HD from ECCW is making his debut in TNA soon. It seems to fit.

TNA isn't like any other company, sir. Idk if you've noticed.

For all we know, they could just be putting up a hype vignette for a talent that they'll end up sending to OVW and/or cutting loose in the end of it all ANYWAYS, what with the budget cuts or whatever that's going on. There's no Gut Check anymore, so new talent (if they're not as good) will probably be sent to OVW first, or they'll have them come out, think they're tough shit and then they'll slowly disappear from the scene to go to OVW. Seeing how TNA doesn't do things like other wrestling companies most of the time, it's pretty hard to tell what the hell they're going to do. We're pretty much stuck making assumptions.

TNA has dark matches aka tryout matches too, they have them ALL the time. Again, i DOUBT they are going to put this guy in a tryout mode after hyping him up for weeks if they do that. The only way i see him being sent down to OVW is if his gimmick falls flat or he's a horrible wrestler.

Which happens a lot, but not always. This looks like the first of many vignettes about a wrestler potentially looking to be a disappointment. There's always the chance that he won't be, but I'd need to see his work to make an official judgment.

No company in the God damn World air's vignettes for a few weeks just for someone to have a try out match, then disappear. Clearly whoever they are bringing in (it may not be that guy with two cocks...) they feel is ready to bring up to the main roster and I bet he's an X-Division guy too.

Calling this guy a "potential disappointment" already when you haven't even seen what he looks like yet, is pretty silly...

Everytime TNA hypes a "secret" addition to the roster, there's a great chance they fail at it. (Remember Tito Ortiz? That's the most recent example).

I just hope they stop bringing WWE "rejects" (unless they're actually good wrestlers, like John Hennigan) and start getting their own guys. They need to revamp the X-Division and the Knockouts. 2010-12 they were packing with great talents for those divisions, and suddendly, Hulk Hogan happened. Hopefully they'll go back to their "old" / Original format. That was "the" thing that made them unique and actually enjoyable (compared to today).

Pity TNA doesn't actually put an effort to get the best talent on their roster. (Anderson, Mickie James, Morrison...)

I remember when she went on Twitter saying she was going to go after a WWE guy as soon as his contract expired after Wrestlemania. Months went by, nothing was said. All of a sudden the big signing she had been promising was actually Rampage Jackson.

Also Ken Anderson isnt one of the best talents on the roster, in fact, he's far from talented. He's a piece of shit.

But this dude isn't being hyped as some secret entity who is going to destroy TNA blah blah. He was just advertised to be arriving soon in the classic way a wrestling show does...

Anderson is a talent, but he needs to be used right.
