Metallica's 3D movie is a ''surrealistic journey''.
The iconic rock band are set to star in their own concert movie 'Through the Never', which will also be combined with a fictional story, and the film is set to be a unique experience for fans, according to the band.
Bassist Rob Trujillo explained: ''It's a surrealistic journey that takes place to the sound of Metallica's music. The main character, Trip (Dane DeHaan), is a production assistant who is working for his favourite band, which is Metallica.

''We've obviously been influenced by some of the great music films of the past - 'The Song Remains the Same' or what Pink Floyd did with 'The Wall'. But this is pretty unique. It's like a cross between 'Mad Max' and 'The Twilight Zone'. But there isn't any dialogue. The music is the dialogue.''
The group have been hoping to star in their own film for a long time, but the project has only recently come together.

Turjillo added to Classic Rock magazine: ''The movie has been coming on and off for the past 20 years, but it was just too expensive to do. It revolves around the tours and stage production of the past, thrown into one elaborate show. It's the largest indoor stage ever. Then it kind of morphed into, 'Let's bring a narrative to it, make it more interesting.' ''
