Many rumors are circulating following the announcement that Brock Lesnar would return to the UFC for a one-off appearance just under two months ahead of Summerslam. Now we have a little more information on the deal.

We're being told that the UFC will promote WWE's Summerslam show during UFC 202, which takes place the night before Summerslam. UFC 202 is headlined with a major re-match between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz. This likely isn't the only reason that WWE signed off on the fight, but it's one of them.

Brock Lesnar has always had the option of participating in UFC fights in his WWE contract. This option was nearly exercised in 2012, as the UFC was hoping to put together a huge bout at AT&T Stadium in Dallas against Fedor Emelianenko. Fedor pulled out of negotiations after his father passed away and he temporarily retired.

Josh Barnett, Shane Carwin, Todd Duffee, and even WWE United States Champion Rusev have all offered to step up and fight Brock Lesnar in the event that opponents are still being considered. The rumor that top-10 ranked Mark Hunt is in the running is due to an interview with The Daily Telegraph where Hunt said that UFC President Dana White told him to "stay ready" for UFC 200.

– Brock Lesnar appeared on ESPN this morning, and was interviewed by Hanna Storm. They showed footage from his 2014 interview, where he announced that he was staying with WWE, and that his fighting days were over. Lesnar says he is returning at UFC 200 because he was haunted with the decision he made to walk away from MMA. He believes in living dreams and confronting fears; he didn’t want to regret things 20-years later.

This was all his idea. He was at home, having a cup of coffee, and decided that he needed to come back. He fought at UFC 100, why not at UFC 200. Lesnar says that at the top of his career, he wasn’t at the top of his game due to his diverticulitis. He feels that is the only reason he lost, and he is 100% now and wants to prove what he can do.

He is very excited to return, and will face Mark Hunt at UFC 200. He says it could be anyone, and that it doesn’t matter who he faces because he doesn’t turn down fights. Lesnar says it is a heavy hitter (Hunt) vs. a grappler; if the fight ends up on the ground, he’s done Lesnar says.

Lesnar says that the deal came from his side, and it started three months ago. He called the UFC, said he wanted to fight on the UFC 200 event. He sad he had a “big boy” conversation with Vince McMahon. He adds that he’s a modern day Bo Jackson, and feels blessed that both companies have the faith to allow him to step into UFC 200 as a main event attraction. Lesnar says he is a prizefighter, and the Lesnar business is big money, which is why this was done. Money is important, and he is making a boatload of money, but it is about more than that. He feels humbled to be back. He is asked if the fight is a big success if he can walk away. Lesnar isn’t sure how to answer; they will cross that road when they come to it. he has Summerslam after UFC 200, he’s a “busy beaver.”

Brock was asked about the Ariel Helwani situation, and said he doesn’t even know who that is. When asked about Conor McGregor, he says guys like him can be great for the company as long as they make money. When asked about Muhammad Ali, Lesnar met him once and they shared a handshake. Lesnar called him gracious and that he felt something powerful from him.

As far as his legacy goes, he can’t speak to that, it’s for others to decide. He has to do what is best for himself, his family and God.

I hope Brock loses not only because I dislike Brock but also because it will ruin 3 years worth of WWE booking him as a indestructible force. It would be hilarious.

Former WWE, NCAA, UFC and IWGP Champion Brock Lesnar has received a USADA exemption to compete at next month's UFC 200 event, according to Sherdog. Traditionally competitors must provide written notice of their intent or desire to come out of retirement four months ahead of time, as well as making themselves available for random testing.

You can see the UFC's statement on the exemption below.

"On June 6, 2016, UFC heavyweight Brock Lesnar was registered by USADA into the UFC Anti-Doping Policy testing pool. As part of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, UFC may grant a former athlete an exemption to the four-month written notice rules in exceptional circumstances or where the strict application of that rule would be manifestly unfair to an athlete. Given Lesnar last competed in UFC on December 30, 2011, long before the UFC Anti-Doping Policy went into effect, for purposes of the Anti-Doping Policy, he is being treated similarly to a new athlete coming into the organization.

"While conversations with the heavyweight have been ongoing for some time, Lesnar required permission from WWE to compete in UFC 200 and only agreed to terms and signed a bout agreement last Friday. He was therefore unable to officially start the Anti-Doping Policy process any earlier. UFC, however, did notify Lesnar in the early stages of discussions that if he were to sign with the UFC, he would be subject to all of the anti-doping rules. Lesnar and his management have now been formally educated by USADA on the policy, procedures and expectations."

Lesnar will take on #8-ranked Mark Hunt on Saturday, July 9 at UFC 200.
