According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, things are slow as far as getting an influx of cash into the company. They have been trying to re-sign top talent to new deals, but the newsletter says that none of the key talents have signed these deals.
The company is doing the Slammiversary PPV on June 12th and then will have tapings on the 13th, 14th and 15th. On the 13th they will tape a One Night Only PPV as well as matches for Xplosion. On the 14th they will tape two episodes of Impact, including the one that will air that night, and then tape two more episodes on the 15th.
The original plan was to also tape on the 16th and 17th, which would have secured content through the beginning of August. The 16th and 17th were cancelled, likely because they did not have the money to run those days. Pay for a lot of the talent and everyone in production is by appearance, and it allows them to cut the non-transportation budget by about 33%. In the short term it allows them to save that money, but in the long run it will cost more (another rental of Universal plus travel) because they now have to schedule a taping in July that they wouldn’t have needed.
