WWE Smackdown
Air Date: Sept. 27, 2013
-Triple H opens the show and talks about the heavy burden on him and his wife, carrying the company and being responsible for everything. He says that he gave all the Superstars a fair opportunity, which brings out The Miz. Miz asks the Game if he "really" thinks he's being fair to the roster. Triple H says Miz is the prime example of somebody who gets chance after chance, and fails, and it's not his fault that he can't capitalize on the chances given to him. Miz insults Stephanie, and Triple H books him in a match against Randy Orton later tonight.
(1) Alberto del Rio def. R-Truth. This is basically a squash.
-Del Rio beats down Truth after the match, locking in the Cross Arm Breaker and refusing to let go. Rob Van Dam makes the save, attacking the champ with a steel chair. RVD celebrates with the title and Ricardo.
-Triple H and Vickie Guerrero talk about what to do with RVD and Del Rio at WWE Battleground, and decide on a Hardcore Rules match.
(2) The Real Americas def. The Prime Time Players. Zeb Colter cut a promo before the match, so it looks like they found their voice again after a few weeks of radio silence. Young had the pin but the referee was distracted, and Swagger made him tap out with the Ankle Lock.
(3) Bray Wyatt def. Zack Ryder in a quick match
(4) Dolph Ziggler vs. Dean Ambrose for the US Championship ends in a "no decision" as a brawl breaks out on the outside of the ring. Triple H books a 6-man tag instead.
(5) The Shield def. Ziggler, Kingston & RVD. This is a pretty long match, with lots of action for everyone. All of the babyfaces were very over.
-Big Show talks about being conflicted about everything he's done in the past few weeks. Triple H comes up and mocks Show, making fun of his crying. Show thinks about knocking him out, but storms off instead.
(6) AJ Lee def. Cameron
-Paul Heyman cuts a promo about CM Punk, and thanks Ryback and Curtis Axel for the damage done on Monday Night Raw.
(7) The Great Khali & Santino def. 3MB
(8) Randy Orton def. The Miz. Orton originally got disqualified, but Triple H came out and restarted the match, saying Orton had to win via pinfall. Orton finished the match with an RKO to end Smackdown.
-Miz was getting a ton of heat from the crowd, given Orton a major babyface pop. That will probably be heavily edited for Friday's show.
