WWE has officially stated that Tom Phillips did not get injured in the show-closing backstage segment on Raw where Stephanie slapped him repeatedly. Stephanie nailed him hard on the first slap and Phillips was legitimately shaken up from it.

The segment has been talked about because the belief is that Phillips was hurt, but he was not selling it since it doesn’t help him to speak up about it. Whether he was hurt or not, there was talk about a non-wrestler taking several unnecessary head shots for no reason. The irony here is that Triple H is on Chris Nowinski’s concussion board.

WWE ran an angle on their website on Tuesday stating that Phillips had flown home and would not be on the live Smackdown. They also posted this photo showing a bruise on his face:

imo Stephanie involved with any male babyfaces is just damaging for the wrestlers. When she is out there she pretty much neuters them and they can't get their heat back because they can't touch her.

The only way to make up for this is to have Sasha Banks bully Stephanie for the next 3 months straight, forcing Stephanie to cower under Sasha as "The Boss" destroys her every week.
