The Jimi Hendrix biopic 'All Is by My Side' had to be re-edited after the musician's ex-girlfriend complained.
The late legend's former flame was so unhappy with director John Ridley's take on his life that she complained to sponsors the Irish Film Board about the movie's factual inaccuracies.

Kathy Etchingham - who first met Hendrix upon his arrival in London in 1966 - dated the star for three years before he became famous and inspired many of his tracks, including 'Foxy Lady'.
Etchingham was first irked when she heard herself described by 'All Is by My Side's leading lady Hayley Atwell as a working-class woman who ''swears in every line and is a chain-smoking wild child from the '60s, who had a notoriously tempestuous relationship with Jimi.''
Etchingham told Page Six: ''Naturally I was upset about this as I am not from Manchester and come from a rather prosperous Irish family.''

The 67 year old also took offence to actor André Benjamin's (aka André 3000) portrayal of Hendrix's drug use and, in particular, a scene in which he banged her head with a telephone.
She insisted: ''Later on, after he went to New York and fell in with the wrong crowd, he might have started to go off the rails, but in the early days he was a fresh, clearheaded and ambitious musician.

''We had a lot of fun that first year in London, and I think it's a shame that Ridley has made such a pig's ear of the story.''

Etchingham decided to write to the Irish Minister for Arts complaining they were subsidizing a film that defamed an Irish national, as well as forcing Ridley ''to take out the defamatory bits and reshoot scenes'' with the help of a lawyer.
The final edit still fell short of Etchingham's expectations, however, and she described it as ''ridiculous . . . sexist'' and ''dull as dishwater.''
