Nintendo is reportedly censoring risqué costumes in Xenoblade Chronicles X for the West.
A series of tweets by user Teigake (via NeoGAF), reveal a set of costumes more appropriate for Lin, a 13-year-old character in the Japanese version of the game. Lin is allegedly supposed to be 15 years old in the western release.
As you can see in the images, Lin sports very revealing black and silver bikini costumes in the Japanese version of the game. These appear to have been replaced with a costume featuring less revealing boots, shorts, and two different style tops.
It is not clear if this is the final version of the game, and it doesn’t appear that other characters in the game have been censored.
You might recall something similar happened with the western release of Bravely Default, in which some of the female characters' costumes were censored.
Back at E3, developer Monolith Soft sat down with IGN to talk about Xenoblade’s transforming mechs, called Skell, and how long it might take a player to acquire them in-game.
Xenoblade Chronicles X released in Japan back in April and is set to launch on December 4, 2015 in the West for Wii U.
