Both Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 are being removed from Wii Virtual Console.
According to Famitsu (via Nintendo Life), SEGA is pulling the pair of Genesis games tomorrow, October 30. Both titles are reportedly being removed form Xbox Live Arcade as well; however, the date for their removal has yet to be revealed.
There's no word on whether this is a worldwide removal or strictly limited to Japan. We've reached out to SEGA for clarification.
While the speedy blue hedgehog is leaving the Wii marketplace, 3DS owners can still pick up enhanced versions of both titles right now on the eShop.
