E.G. Deal vs. James Best
Grader: Greg
E.G. Deal - There were things you were having Deal do that felt out of character. Like a 6’9” wrestler skinning the cat. I feel that Deal sold way too long when we fell to the outside and that could have been shorter as it was the very beginning of the match. “Not even allowing Best the time to be hurt by that” That line in my opinion should be something along the lines of, “Not allowing Best to process what is happening to him.” It would have been nice to have had some reason why the ref didn’t see the eye rake, like he was out of position. It came off like he was just letting it go. You had some monstrous paragraphs which are absolutely killer to read. Try to find a better way to split them up. Your ending was pretty run of the mill, but it got the job done. Your description was solid, as well as your selling. Your match had some quality action, but I felt it lacked an overall direction with the story, which wasn’t helped by some of the inconsistencies in the writing of your character’s size. Your character is real big, you have to take that into consideration that he isn’t going to move the same way most of the rest of the roster is going to. You were also very consistent throughout this match.

James Best – You had some very strange word choice in the match. Your ending felt extremely rushed. Your description was very good in the beginning, and probably my favorite part of the match. A lot of your selling felt rushed as did the pace of the match as a whole. Your action was pretty good, but I feel it didn’t do much overall towards telling a story in the match. You used the characters well though. Your match was not extremely consistent as it really tapered off in the end.

Verdict – Caine’s description was better in my opinion. I have to give selling and pace to Abdel as Caine’s match has some real rushed selling and spots. Action was a toss-up. Story is edged to Abdel. And consistency goes to Abdel. So the winner of this match is E.G. Deal! Best of luck at Rev Wars!
