Bethesda has revealed it's struggling to keep up with demand for the recently announced Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Collector's Edition.

The Fallout 4 Pip-Boy edition was available for pre-order for $119.99, but is currently sold out in North America and, according to Bethesda's Marketing VP Pete Hines, you shouldn't be expecting any more to crop up.

"We reached a point where we'd go back to the factories and they were like, 'guys, this is it, sorry. This is as long as we can run the lines and as many of them as we can make,'" he told Gamespot. "They're being made today, it's not like they're done and sitting in a warehouse. [The factories would tell us,] this is what the yields say. I mean, we don't make [the Pip-Boy Editions], and we'd go back to [the factories] and say, 'Demand for this is insane, we've got to make more.' And they'd move other projects off or shift stuff to other factories and it just came to [them telling Bethesda], 'Final answer: sorry, this is as many as we can make.' And we sold every single one of those that we could."

Hines went on to say that he believes the company has made more of this special edition than it has of any other limited edition in its history, so suggestions it's deliberately being kept rare is far of the mark. Supply simply can't match demand.

Fallout 4 got its grand gameplay debut earlier last month during Bethesda's E3 press conference. Here's a detailed rundown on everything we currently know about the gameplay, and here's a look at the game's all-new crafting system.
