| Real Madrid vice-president Eduardo Fernandez de Blas has accidentally let slip at the meeting of a fans group that Rafa Benitez will be the new club coach.
Benitez will leave Napoli at the end of the season and has been hotly tipped to take over from Carlo Ancelotti at the Bernabeu but so far there has been no confirmation.
"Ancelotti is an absolute phenomenon and we give him all our appreciation," Fernandez de Blas told the Madrid members group.
"Until three days ago he was the best trainer in the world as two years ago it was Jose Mourinho and from this week onwards it will be Rafa Benitez."
Italian Ancelotti was dismissed a year after he ended 12 years of Champions League failure and led Real to a record-extending 10th European crown, as well as a Copa del Rey triumph.
Former-Liverpool and Chelsea boss Benitez, who once had a stint as a Real youth team coach, is expected by local media to be named as the new man at the helm of Real next Wednesday. |

Bruh, ^ He's a trophy holder; and we can't judge him before we see a match with Real Madrid, and maybe those are rumours and I don't believe anything on the internet that confirms sth before seeing it on the official site of the team. etc...

If you have the 4th best squad in your league, want to make sure you get 4th/contend for a cup, Rafa's your guy. If you're Madrid? Come on. Rafa’s going to finish 2nd or 3rd next year, get fired. It’ll be “harsh” and he’ll land on his feet at a really good job (Liverpool).

How soon do the Madridistas start outright abusing Rafa? February? Can't wait for Rafa's Carvajal for Danilo sub while drawing 0-0 against a mid-table side. Going to be glorious.

Jurgen Klupp, but he's taking a break. So, either Pep Guardiola (not likely) or even Schalke's manager, which I forgot his name lol.

I'm a bit iffy on Klopp myself. Hasn't been able to get his teams to play anything else except the counter. He needs to improve in that regard.

Btw, Benitez was bad at Napoli because of the poor squad, but once he makes it to Madrid; there is everything a manager needs.

Very skeptical on Benitez tbh. Barca is going to fuck shit up with Enrique as their manager anyways. Should have whist stuck with Ancelotti.

Benitez isn't very good from what I've heard. From what I've seen, I haven't been very impressed either.
