Paul Clement has confirmed his departure from Real Madrid.
Madrid's former assistant manager has been strongly tipped to take over as the new boss of Derby County.
Clement, 43, had been expected to leave Spain following the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti by Madrid on Monday.
He wrote on Twitter: "It has been an honour to have worked with Carlo at the Number 1 Club in the World. Thank you to all the Players, Staff and Fans. Hala Madrid."
Clement had previously worked with Ancelotti at Chelsea and Paris St-Germain before the
duo moved to the Spanish capital in 2013 and led Madrid to their 10th Champions League title last season.
London-born Clement is the favourite to replace former England coach Steve McClaren at Derby but has also been linked with the vacant manager's position at Sunderland following the departure of Dick Advocaat.
Ancelotti has held talks with AC Milan about a return to the club whom he twice led to Champions League success.
