| Subject: Sherlock Holmes 3 may or may not be happening, says Jude Law Thu May 28, 2015 8:45 am | |
| If you thought the wait for new episodes of Sherlock was bad, spare a thought for those poor souls still holding out hope for Guy Ritchie's long-delayed Sherlock Holmes 3.
Ever since Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows came out in 2011, a sequel has been both widely rumoured and expected, with both Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr confirming as much last year.
But when Digital Spy asked Law how the sequel was progressing, his response was a weary "I don't know". He added: "There is apparently still a will [to do it], there is a script being written, but I'm not sure."
So while it's by no means a straight-out denial, the fact that Law's still none the wiser suggests Sherlock series 4 might be on our screens before Sherlock Holmes 3 even enters production.
Producer Dan Lin confirmed in 2013 that Iron Man 3 screenwriter Drew Pearce was working on the script for Sherlock Holmes 3, and that the project was "a high priority for the studio".
In the meantime, you can get your Jude Law fix from Spy, which is released in the US and UK on June 5. |
