Samoa Joe did work tonight’s WWE NXT taping at Full Sail University, and he did in fact wrestle his very first match for the promotion.

The former TNA and ROH world champion competed under the name “Samoa Joe”, retained a similar appearance in the ring, and won his debut match with the Muscle Buster, a move he has made famous over the course of his career. It appears – at least for the time being – that WWE has no intention of changing Joe’s signature character or moveset.

It was announced that the potential “dream match” between Samoa Joe and NXT Champion Kevin Owens will take place, on what should be the fourth episode in a four-week long run that kicks off next Wednesday night on the WWE Network.

They're treating Samoa Joe the same way they treated CM Punk perhaps. Which is good, considering people know who he is and like him for his gimmick and moveset.
