Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry was awarded the NBA's 2014-15 Most Valuable Player on Monday.
Curry finished with 1,198 points, including 100 of the 130 first-place votes, to finish ahead of Houston's James Harden in the voting. Curry is the team's second MVP winner, joining Wilt Chamberlain, who won for the 1959-60 season when the franchise played in Philadelphia.
Curry is likely to receive the trophy in a ceremony before Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday.
He carried the top-seeded Warriors to a club-record 67 wins, surpassed his own record for 3-pointers in a season with 286 and added to his growing reputation as one of the most entertaining spectacles in sports.
This season, Curry eclipsed his own record of 272 3-pointers set two years ago, hitting 286 from beyond the arc. He already owns three of the five most prolific 3-point shooting seasons in NBA history.
Curry averaged 23.8 points, 7.7 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2 steals this season. He shot 48.7 percent from the floor and 44.3 percent from 3-point range.
The Warriors' Stephen Curry received 100 first-place votes to win the NBA's Most Valuable Player Award. The Rockets' James Harden (25) and Cavaliers' LeBron James (5) were the only other players to receive first-place votes.
