Former WWE Champion Sheamus — who has been out of action for several months — has been rumored to be returning at this Sunday’s WrestleMania as a surprise competitor in either the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal or the multi-man Intercontinental Championship ladder match. Now, it appears that WWE will hold off on Sheamus’s return until after WrestleMania, and that he’ll likely make his return on the following night’s RAW.

It’s been expected that Sheamus will return as a heel, and according to several reports, he will be feuding with the winner of the Intercontinental Championship ladder match on Sunday. It’s also possible that if WWE is dead-set on having Roman Reigns remain a babyface and win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, that Sheamus will be one of Reigns’ first challengers.

WWE has been airing video packages that have been advertising Sheamus’s return to WWE since early last month, and most people believed that he would return to feud with Daniel Bryan because WWE wanted to do that match at last year’s WrestleMania, but due to the fans forcing them to put Daniel Bryan in the main event, they were unable to. It’s likely that when Sheamus returns that he’ll take out Daniel Bryan, who is the favorite to win the Intercontinental Championship on Sunday.

It’s not set in stone that Sheamus won’t be involved in something at WrestleMania, as Vince McMahon is known for being very impulsive, especially these days, and Sheamus has been ready to return to action since back in January. The Intercontinental Championship ladder match will most likely be the spot for Sheamus if he does have a match, as it would give him a chance to begin his feud with Daniel Bryan.

Sheamus was in last year’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and was one of the favorites to win the match. This year, it seems that NXT star Finn Balor and Damien Mizdow are the two favorites, with Ryback being the dark-horse.

If you’re eagerly awaiting Sheamus’ WWE return, well, all you have to do is wait until Monday night, because him appearing at WrestleMania is a long-shot as of right now. But, as previously stated, Vince McMahon is extremely impulsive and could change his mind by Sunday.

It's not necessarily a spoil. People can want Balor to win, even if he's not guaranteed in it yet.

Yeah but saying he's one of the favorites to win the thing when he's not even in it yet, is basically a spoiler.

Not if it's favorites with the fans. Which this article doesn't specify if it's favorites with fans or favorites within WWE.

C'mon Vince, do the right thing...Sheamus turning up at WrestleMania in the ladder match (whether he's in it or just runs in to attack Bryan) is a much better option than having him return the next night.
